ok to start off I LOVE KINGDOM HEARTS AND IF YOU DONT I REALLY DONT WANNA HEAR ABOUT IT
who else is excited in another installment of this wonderful series
i actually just started playing it now but will refrain from spoilers!
is game for psp or DS? I forgot
is it any good?
this is the DS one, the PSP one is called Birth by Sleep (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts_Birth_by_Sleep)
i absolutely love the KH series as well, although i don't have a ds or psp nor do i really play video games much at all these days :?

Haven't most of the FF worlds been destroyed/brink of destruction at the end? IDK, haven't really played them to the end to find out.

On topic, why both a Nintendo AND Playstation release? Square-Enix seems to like all companies evenly, seeing as Chain of Memories was on the GBA and a FF coming to the 360 soon. (fact check?)

I am pretty sure it is implied that all of the final fantasy characters except possibly auron are all from radiant garden so I doubt there will ever be a world for each individual game

while this is true, it means that a possible idea would be to mashup more characters (say, FFIV and FFVI) into a completely new world.
Ok, that's just my excuse for wantingto see Kefka get whacked in the face with a keyblade.

I agree, Setzer wasn't my favorite character. He was one of those that irritated me leveling up 'cos there was no true point. haha At least to me there wasn't.

well i was actually referring to his appearance in KH2, but yeah FF6 had a few too many protagonists to begin with imo

He also mentioned later on in the game that Hollow Bastion was their home. Cloud, Aerith, Yuffie, Cid, and Squall are all from Hollow Bastion.

Yeah they made Setzer all boring. Pure aesthetics, no personality; he was just there for show. They could have at least given him a personality.

Also, I'm playing it right now. Or was... since my DS is now out of battery.
I hope you're ready to sit down for a one hour tutorial. And it's part of the story, too, so you can't skip it!
The game is indeed mission based, and even though most of the tutorial missions are kinda... caged in, after diving into my first real mission (and dying miserably multiple times), you'll feel the world really open up just like good ol' KH fare.
Using the X button by itself to navigate the menu sucks balls.

yeah, my memory fails me. i probably should have thought about that before i jumped to conclusions
though i think some FF or even preferably some more KH-exclusive worlds would help break the monotony of saving the same Disney worlds over and over (despite game-to-game differences)

To be fair, the game did feel rather clunky at times.
The rest of the review's negative bullet points are invalid.
It takes place between KH1 and KH2, of course they'll be borrowing songs!
And too many angsty lines about hearts? Well... that's all preference, really. I didn't mind it much.

Or we could have no worlds or terrible angsty characters and just not play Kingdom Hearts because Kingdom Hearts sucks and I don't like bazillion hour long tutorials and screw Tetsuya Nomura sideways his game series sucks what a disappointment

"feeling" being the operative word here. Doesn't mean they can't put on an act or whatever, or bitch endlessly to garner up whatever sympathy they can.
Really though, the whole idea of an omniscient council of vagueness made up of nothing but sexy metrosexual guys (and one psycho-bitch) talking about hearts and kingdoms and shit and generally being really bad at following their own plans was an ill-conceived idea from the get-go.
Seriously. When your whole plan is, "Let Sora kill lots of Heartless and stay out of his way", you don't usually GET IN HIS WAY if you want to succeed. But oh well, there goes Xigbar, Xaldin, Demyx, etc etc etc...
Of course, they were just following Fearless Leader's orders, so maybe they're just too dumb to live.

Well, I'm about two hours in and liking what I'm playing so far. I like all the little nods to the other games, as well as it answering some of those tiny questions I've always had. Hope that trend continues.

I'm liking this more and more as I go through, at first i was pissed that mario and luigi was sold out but now i'm glad. because i know i'll still get that, but i might have skipped this otherwise.
