Final Fantasy / Sight of Spira / by Nobuo Uematsu

I am a sampling/computer/gaming/ guitar nut. I heard
Nobuo;s midi guitar rendering of this brilliant tune, and i
decided to record it myself, but with real classical guitar.
I'm a trained classical guitarist.
I do alot of recordings with guitar and with virtual instruments,
but this particular version of Uematsu's piece, turned out quite stunning. I hope you agree.....

I used my Ramirez classical guitar. 2 Shure SM-81 mics in xy stereo.
Running into a Delta 1010 24 96khz soundcard. Running Logic 5.5
Pentium 4 3.0 ghz with 3 gigs of ram. Tons of sample libraries and
virtual instruments. But of course, just the guitar for this mix. :)
The reverb on the guitar is UAD Realverb.
Real instruments for gaming music?!?!? Why that's crazy!!! :-)

Regards,
Toddk

Very stylish cover. About the only thing that was purely original though was the little break from 2:01-2:04. I'll be keeping this, but we go for rearrangements, not covers. Especially considering that the source tune is in acoustic guitar itself, this doesn't expand on the ideas of the original at all.

this is a damn shame, because the performance and recording are top notch. but it's a cover, not an arrangement.

damn shame.

another case of "UGH - WE ARE NOT A COVER SITE"

sometimes it makes me cringe that we have to say no to such fine pieces of music. please go to vgmix.com and release this there. please.

i hate to do this because it goes against everything i love and believe in about that instrument you have in your arms...
but NO

Unfortunately, I don't have much more to say here. Great recording, great production, excellent technique, but sticks too close to the source tune for our guidelines. Nonetheless, cool stuff which I'll be keeping.
