Assigning soundfonts to Midi?

I've been messing around with sound-fonts for a while on the Fruity sound-font player, and I wanted to know how can I assign a specific note I'm playing on the keyboard to the midi controllers pads? (MPD24)

For instance, like how under one sound-font patch it could have different types of congas. Can I add those congas to all of the pads on the midi?

Assigning a specific note to a pad would likely be something you would do on the hardware, take a look in your pad controller manual.
