And i doubt any of you should be worried about Chrono Symphonics being almost finished too. I'd bet there'll be a month between the release of both this and Chrono remixing projects :P

Also, this is how we're gonna handle things.

By October 1st, we'll be collecting everyones tracks. Special cases will be given more time if they need it, you know who you are.

Once KFC and I have all the tracks, we will start listening to them very carefully. If something needs changing, we will tell you to change it, be open to critique.

Now for an update from me.

I'm getting back into my carnival night track, trying to make it more interesting and quite a bit longer. It's going well so far, but progress may slow down a little due to the shear number of other projects and favors I have lined up right now. With any luck I should still make the deadline.

The website will also be done within the month. I'm working on a redesign that I'm sure you'll all love, provided I can get it working alright. I'm also working on some special "bonus content" that not even the project leaders know about yet. That might take a little while, but should be done easily in time for the project launch. Wow, this is making me think how this thing is still standing after so long. :) Was this before easter it made its start? Must be some time after Hedgehog Heaven at least.

From the minimal amount of tracks I've heard I've managed to see some interesting results out here. And even so it'll be great to see what will be presented for the deadline.

But yeah, let's see this keep moving on and on. KFC knows it, and Snapple knows it too, but this has come a very long way since its shaken start. And as one of those people that have been there since the beginning, I can say this project has gone through a lot to make sure it has reached this stage - near completion.

Yeah, I think alot of the people are taking their rejections too personally. It's not a matter of if we like the songs or not. It depends on if we feel they're right for the project.

I've just got back from two weeks vacation, and I'm suprised to see the progress that has been made. Good work guys!

I have two questions/comments about the tracklisting:
1)If Disc 1 ends up being longer than 80 mins, what song(s) will be moved to disc 2?
2)In the game, Desert Palace comes before Endless Mine (notice the names follow an A-B-C-D-E pattern?). Swap tracks 9 & 10 on disc 2.

The first version of the site is about a week away. There have been some very big changes (ie - everything) since the demo I posted a while back, but i'm sure you'll all like what I have... provided I make the deadline. If people want, they can each submit a short paragraph about their song which will go up as a song description on the site. I only need a few for now (just as placeholders), but would like to eventually have something written by each artist. You can pm me with what you want to say about your track.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!

Deadline is tommorow at midnight. Please try your very best to get your tracks completed by then. I need to hear from Sir Nuts specifically, and failure to get in contact with him on time will result in Kanjika getting Hidden Palace for himself without me and Snapple's judging (although Boss 2 is his period) .

ALSO! I am featured on two new tracks now. Ending Credits with Kanjika (I will be playing guitar), and Flying Battery with Sixto (this will be more of a full blown collabo, as He will be teaching me a thing or two about rocking out while I teach him a thing or two about arrangement and style ;) ). It's going to be sick folks :).

Almost there, we are in reaching distance. Hadyn is hard at work on the killer looking website, and everyone has submitted great work so far. I'd like to thank in advance all the parties involved in making this project successful.

Info update about the site:

It's almost fully functional - I just want to add some more content, make it look a little shinier, and add sound effects. I'm still yet to add the bonus feature, but I should have it done in time for the project release.

The site still needs it's own unique soundtrack. I have one or two artists who have finished their other tracks who are going to write some stuff for it, but I could do with some more. If you're interested in writing a short, background-music-ish track, let me know via PM. It will be used on the site, and (as long as KFC's okay with it) it will be featured in the Bonus Tracks section of the page.

Hey KFC: Looks like I can't do anything to the drums in my remix (or anything else involving a PC for a while). My computer went BEZERK last night, and I'd say that 80% of my programs no longer work (Photoshop, Audition, FL, MS Office, Winamp, Nero... and the list seems to get longer). Looks like a re-format is in my computer's near future.
So, I guess you'll have to use the version I sent in last night, at least until I can get the computer working again... I really hope this isn't a problem.

I *SHOULD* have everything up and running again around the middle of the week, but I can't make promises.

Okay people, I got something to say. I FINALLY was able to talk to sadorf and get to the bottom on the problems that we've been having here.

In the end, sadorf did nothing wrong, everything was due to communication errors and other bullshit that's no longer important. It's unfortunate that all this shit had to take place, but now that I know what really happened, it's not a problem and I hope everyone can drop any and all negativity towards this.

Good to see it's finally resolved.

As for the website: It's pretty damn close to completion. Well, the fancy flash part of it anyways. Obviously it still needs some background music, and there are a few things that I could improve slightly (depending on time constraints, etc.), but it's pretty much there. I still have to work on the bonus feature though, which might take quite a bit more work... But hopefully I'll get it done in time for the project release. It doesn't really matter if it comes out a bit late anyways (the bonus stuff, that is) - it relates to the bonus music tracks, but not the actual main project and so it won't hold up the release or anything.

I haven't created a downloads page yet either, which is probably the most important part... Before I work on that I'll need to recieve comments from everyone about their tracks (if they want to give them, that is), and I'll also need to get the download locations list from KFC, and I'm assuming that doesn't exist just yet. As a note, I'm pretty sure both project leaders already know, but I better point this out just incase: I'm making the site, but you guys are going to have to organise finding a server to host it yourselves. I'm purely the design guy, I can't host any of it. Hope that's no problem.

Eh, that's an overgeneralization. I can see that statement being true like 3-4 years ago, but not now. Almost everyone that passes does arrangements not remixing. Are you not reading a lot of judging decisions in the last year? OCR "Remix" is just a cool name, almost all the stuff, if not all the stuff we pass are arrangements. The only remixing I can think of that may or may not fall into this is techno/trance stuff, but even in these situations we hear a lot of real arrangement vs the stuff you cited.

Actually, I was under the impression that "mixing" and "remixing" referred strictly to fader/aux/insert/send/patchbay/etc settings on a console or a DAW Workstation. That's how my engineer buddies use the term. I think popular culture perverted those terms into what we call a "ReMix".

Seriously though, I completly agree. Projects get done when they are. SO many unpredicted events happen which slows things down, and it gets really annoying when people persist on askin over and over to get it done. I swear...

As for "not owing anyone shit", I disagree. We're making this project for the people, and I think we need to atleast make an effort to treat them with a little respect. You can tell them that you don't know when the project's coming out and that you would appreciate it if they stopped nagging, but try to be nice about it.

Well, I'm new to the forums here, though I have downloaded over 900 of the remixes, plus I have a game music playlist over 60 hours long. I am very much looking forward to this project coming out. Sonic 2 was my first game ever, but I've always like S3&K the best. I have played over and over again, and it's gotten to the point that I can beat in in an hour or two, all super emerealds, all the way through, only losing maybe one or two lives along the way, but still I play it. I love it that much, and a large part of that love comes from the music. I have listened to some of the early WIPs posted here, and even those early versions make me wish for a new pair of pants. I will certainly be watching this very carefully.

On another note, if anyone wants, I may be able to help come up with remix titles.

Project News and Updates

- Thanks to Darkesword, he has allowed me to return to the Site Projects mod position. This was removed a few months ago for various actions, but he trusts that I have learned my lesson.

- The project's break that we had will be over Monday. All mixers will be expected to resume work on their tracks.

- A pending deadline for the final tracks is brewing. This is to make sure that mixers are more prompt on working (myself and Snapple included).

Am I the only one worried that the upcoming deadline will catch a lot of the 'unfinished' mixes and mixers off-guard and result in a sudden mass drop-out? (...that's just my pessimistic side speaking.)

I wasn't really on a break myself, I've just been too bogged down with other work. I have holidays in another two weeks, I can definitely finish then.

I'm considering canning the bonus thing I was making for the site, though. I have some massive assignments that take priority over it, and there's probably not enough time for me to finish it. Either that, or I'll make a simpler version than origianlly planned. In fact, I'll try to do that second idea. A lot of work already went into it, it'd be a shame to not use it in one way or another.

Oh, I finished the site with sound effects and all. Obviously the content and background music is just placeholder stuff right now, but that's easy to change and so everything's good in that respect!

If KFC or Snapps want to organise some webspace I'll be able to update the content and upload it during my little holiday.

Someone/something needs to rejuvenate this project. It's been a while since any major updates/deadlines. I think that the remixers that are supposedly working on their mixes should be prodded with PM. Even a status update regarding their progress would be great.

About hosting, i could probably host the thing, but there is a problem, i dont know how large traffic im allowed, so finding alternative mirrors will be a have to in that scenario. Or, i could host just the page if not the songs. In any case i could put it on a subdomain, like projectchaos.bitmapstereo.com, i guess it will be linked from ocr anyways ??

and speaking of not working, I've been sick for the past three days. which is why I don't have another WIP to submit...

aaaand I just found out my MS2000B is actually on back order. So it'll be another 3-4 weeks before I get it. :( But in the meantime, I'll just do the best I can.

UPDATE

I'm putting it as blunt as I can. The new deadline is Jan 31st. If your track isn't completed by then, you are gone. It has come to this due to the fact that you guys are just not working. Me and Snap will now initiate busting heads mode. We are eliminating any mixer who isn't done by that point (excluding GaMeBoX, Kanjika, and Rexy, who all either have more than one track or are really close to completing their work, and DarkeSword, who just came on the team).
