View Full Version : Need someone to score Ancient Hero

Hey guys. I have kind of a big request.

I often get emails from people asking for sheet music for Ancient Hero (http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01079/), my Wind Waker remix. I always have to turn them down because, well, I wrote it using Piano Roll in FLStudio. I could export MIDI, but even then, it's not really a feasible arrangement for wind band or orchestra to play.

I always feel bad turning them down, because it would be cool for kids to play VGM in school. I'd like to request someone to take my Wind Waker arrangement and do a full wind band or orchestra treatment for it, with a properly written score including dynamics, tempo, etc. I'd do it myself, but I have neither the time, the tools, nor the experience required to properly arrange something for a large ensemble.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a deadline?

I don't have a deadline. This is basically just something I want made up and I have that I can send to people upon request.

Yeah, I can do that. I can produce a Finale file as well as a .pdf of the sheet music.

I know this is kinda random, but Mixcraft 5 lets you view the virtual instrument tracks as sheet music instead of just a piano roll. Its only good for midi instruments though.

There's a difference between Sheet Music made out of a MIDI and Sheet Music.

I don't think any converter would give you "real" sheet music out of a MIDI. (just note lengths and pitches)

I'm well aware of programs that can spit out notation. That's not what I'm looking for here.

Hey DS - shoot me a PM with the MIDI and I can score it in Sibelius 6, if you'd like. Get all the dynamics, break it into parts, all that good stuff if you need it.

Or I could dictate it from the Mp3, but that would take understandably longer .

Oh, my bad. Sorry man, i forget not everyone is still a novice in this music world like myself. :D

No worries.

Also, Abadoss is taking a shot at this.

Ah, so you don't need anyone? Sad, I was looking forward to scoring your music, DS...

Ah well, I'm sure Abadoss has it under control.

Giving this a bump because I don't think Abadoss has made any progress on it. Anyone else want to take a stab?

I'd happily take a stab. Currently working on Wind Waker music quite extensively for my own project, and I'd be able to create sheet music for each instrument as a pdf, as well as a mastersheet that covers all...

Currently working with FL Studio 9, if that's enough to read what you have? Then I have an old copy of Sibelius to write the sheet music out in. If you could email a midi/FL file i'm happy to go from that...

Are you capable of actually arranging the piece for either wind ensemble and/or percussion?

Ah, damnit... Now I feel like a douche. I'll still try, but if someone beats me to it, no worries.

Shit.

I'd be capable... Havent played in a big band like that since I left college but that's not what daunts me.

Sibelius, The program I was going to use is on an old laptop (my old college one) and I fetched it out of the cupboard to find it wont turn on. :( So that's all my old college chemistry notes gone :-(

If I can find the disk it wont be a problem but I havent seen it in years and about two house moved... Sorry.

orchestra is my specialty, if you hand a midi file and describe the dynamics and nuances. i can do it too.
