Ugh, if not for evil food poisoning, I probably would have played tonight. But the ordeal I suffered the night before has left me extremely tired, and the hot weather is not helping one bit either.

I am feeling better, so I might play when I get home from watching the Moto GP practice in Monterey (And I'll be going to the race on Sunday too :) ). I can't give a definite time when I'll be on because I'll probably go to the Bike Night on Cannery Row too, so I might not be on until late, and I wouldn't be able to play for very long since I have to get up early Sunday morning.

I don't know how understandable I was in the lobby, but I said that I was leaving (and couldn't concentrate) because my computer's CPU cooling fan is going a bit too fast for my liking, obviously meaning that it's a bit too hot. For my liking.

Had some fun with Darkflame, Icy Guy, Darkflame's friend and a few others. But towards the end we got put up against assholes galore and to top off the final game, a bunch of fucked up cheaters. But it wasn't all bad, and it made for a funny moment the first game I played.

Now, before you go calling me a douchebag (Edited because Wespip is also one for telling me I spelled it wrong when he has spelling errors of his own from time to time) for killing off nearly my entire team, here's how it started.

We were playing a 4 on 4 match in midship and I was facing the opposite team so I chucked a plasma grenade to stir them up a little. But when I threw it, the grenade didn't appear to go anywhere until I noticed I had stuck Darkflame by accident. So it killed me and him instantly, but I was not aware of the third person standing next to me either. So what was heard was a "BETRAYAL!...BETRAYAL!...SUICIDE!" and as punishment, I recieved a satanic 32 SECOND respawn count.

Luckily everyone else in the team thought it was pretty damn funny and took it in good humor. You guys are awesome :)

Perhaps this is extremely late to join in the thread(it being on the 102nd page, and all), but are you still accepting people into the clan? My Halo 2 skillz are somewhat less than spectacular, but I enjoy a good game. I was level 15 until six consecutive losses (three of which weren't my fault; think three dumbasses who get thrills out of assassinating and sticking their own teammates and committing suicide just to drive their team's score down, and another group of bastards that join a game, commit suicide a lot, then leave the fourth guy to deal with it) on Team Slayer dropped me to 11. As you can probably tell, I can't stand most random teammates, and would love to be able to get on a team with people I (sort of) know, and are there to have fun.

I think it's automatic, but it's been a long while since I've switched clans. If it's NOT automatic when you accept the invite to ours, then you'd just have to go...quit the first one, THEN accept it.

I'm having trouble connecting my XBox (basement) to my wireless Linksys router (main floor). Sometimes it works pretty well, sometimes it's choppy, sometimes it won't even connect. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can boost my wireless signal?

It should work, I play Halo 2 online with my 360 all the time and its fine. I actually prefer it because of the widescreen support. You've downloaded the xbox emulator update for the 360 and all that right? If that's all done it should work quite smoothly. Its about the only backwards compatible xbox game which actually works without bugs.

Umm...no.
I did try it and while it does singleplayer just fine, it gives multiplayer a Mushmouth voice filter that can't be turned off.

As I said, I will keep the original plugged in and ready for an AV cableswap whenever I am requested on Halo.

Didn't talk much cause my headset (3rd party) is shite, and as you witnessed, whenever you guys speak to me some of the sound seems to loop back through the microphone, so I muted the mike. Sorry for the long absence, my computer decided not to accept the firmware update and crashed big-time, frying the logic board. But it's back from the Apple service center with the firmware properly installed and I now have both OSX and Windows XP up and running on my computer :D

As far as my absence from Halo, I've just been really busy the last couple weeks. And if my network adapter weren't acting up at the moment, I would play right now. But it would also appear that no one is on right now.

Anyway, I have tomorrow off, so I might play until about 6:00 then I'm going to a friend's house to study Japanese. And I will probably end up playing Saturday night or Sunday if I'm not too busy.

Wow, been forever since I came on here. Mainly because of college and WoW... But, other than that, I might start playing again. That, or form an OCR Guild on Eredar (Horde) because the current one I'm in just doesnt suit me with some recent changes going on. I've been with em for 6 months and considered 95% of them friends, but it seems that they don't really care about one another, which is just going to lead to its undoing.

I mean, all those crazy nights of shooting each other and teaming up were fun, right? Personally I miss those days but then again, Halo 2 has become just so unbalanced and -meh- that I don't think I can play that anymore. If Halo 3 is any better and has clan support you know I'll be there to help out once again, but for now its getting done with college and the occasional Chromehounds (borrowed) and PSU, maybe even a bit of CoD2 in there, if none of those WoW.

Well, um, yeah. Also another thing I've been doing is broadcasts seeing as how I have a laptop (though its a bloody mac...) and a few programs that will let me stream. I have a free server up but the quality sucks and there's about a minute of lag, then there's also the whole bit about them putting commercials in from time to time which I don't really approve of. Which reminds me... I need to actually finish songs x_x

So I just spent a bit of time reading through the first pages of this topic, and it occurred to me that we don't spend nearly as much time together as a clan as we used to. Sure, we still have good times, but we don't have the stories, the awards, the same amount of people, and WINGLESS. Which has led me to the following conclusion:

Major Halo pwnage at E3 thus far. First there was the live-action short, "Arms Race," and then there was the Halo 3 campaign trailer. So apparently Gears of War does suck balls online, especially when you get paired up with this guy (http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/profile.aspx?pp=0&GamerTag=CDN+111). Apparently this guy has played in the MLG which you would expect to be a little more mature instead of an ass. But no. Guy trash talks like no tomorrow and is overall just a dick. If you guys ever run into him... ever... just leave. It's not worth hearing him scream at the top of his lungs how much his team (you) suck and leave you bad feedback just because you and his team lost the match.

Doesn't matter anyway with Halo 3 coming out next week anyway. But you won't see me playing matches until I've finished campaign.

Apparently this guy has played in the MLG which you would expect to be a little more mature instead of an ass.

There are a lot of assholes in the MLG. They think they're hot stuff because they paid the team entry fee ($160 for a 4-man team, I think) and paid for their accomodations. Most of the top guys (except Gandhi (http://www.mlgpro.com/?q=pro/gandhi)) aren't big douchebags, so it could be said that the amount of douchebaggery you exhibit is inversely proportionate to your team's rank.

And most of the people who play Rainbow Six: Vegas on the pro circuit play like absolute trash. "Tactical shooter?" No. Unless needing to emtpy the entire 30-round magazine of an MP-9 into someone to kill then makes it a tactical shooter. Just like randomly throwing frags around the level in hopes of getting a kill. It's insulting to those of us who know how to actually aim a virtual gun.

Also, the Halo 2 pros aren't too good at Halo 3, either. One of them posted a video of him playing Rumble Slayer on Snowbound on YouTube. Said video was used as an argument supporting the claim that the Halo 2 pros don't suck at Halo 3. The first thing I noticed was that people really weren't shooting at him. They weren't even throwing grendes. The second thing I noticed was a neat little strategy he was using: he would one-shot his enemies with the Beam Rifle and then finish them off with the Assault Rifle.

I realized that he was doing that becuase he couldn't score a headshot.

Halo 3's not going to have clan support. The current word on the street is that the Fall '07 Dashboard update will add Live-wide clan support complete with...CUSTOM RANKS! Hoo-rah!

I'm planning on buying Halo 3 at midnight on the 25th; failing that, I'll be picking it up later that day. But I won't be playing online until I Finish the Fight so I can avoid spoilers.

And since I plan on sticking around, I approve of me being promoted. :wink:

Eh, we can still have our Virtual Clan right here. Same titles and all. The only difference is that Bungie doesn't make it official.

I'm still willing to assume my role as Overlord (and I keep forgetting to change that damn pic in my sig to state that fact) as I imagine Deej Valen and Wespip will as well.

The only problem I can see with doing this though is that we'd actually have to keep those who want to be in the clan on our individual friends list. So I have a couple ideas how to remedy that.

1) We keep everyone on a trial basis. Those who play frequently and are fun to play with can stay.

2) Anyone inactive from Halo 3 (unless you play another game with that person or have become a "friend" in a sense) will be removed from a friends list after an extended amount of time. Not to say a week, but more like a month. Best not to keep our individual friend lists gummed up by others just to keep the clan together. If you don't play frequently enough, it might just be better to not join.

3) Favored players from the original clan are allowed in no questions asked. On that note, Wespip, I think we should go through our current Halo 2 clan list and at least go through and find the more prominent players and remove the others we've more or less never seen play Halo 2. It'll make the job a bit easier.


Those are my ideas. And of course, the title page of the new thread will feature a member list making management a little easier as well.

And for sake of those who still play Halo 2 in the coming days ahead, we should probably still keep the Halo 2 clan active, if anything for reminiscing purposes.

Okay that being said...

I'll be getting my copy of Halo 3 opening night (Might as well, since my friend is having a B-day party like a block away from where I reserved my copy and the party will be over around 10 or 11). However, don't expect me online until after I've finished campaign which shouldn't be more than a couple days (Don't want some snot-nosed 10 year old brat spoiling the end for me). My family will be back east for about a week, so there will be at least one or two overnighters at my disposal so good times are at hand.

Its because when I was playing with Lazy, we missed a cutscene on The Ark, so we quit and loaded from where we were, so it didn't count it as beating it. I was missing my Refuge achievement til I happened to play through that bit on my solo campaign.
