I guess I agree with you guys. I, as an aspiring remixer, like what people are saying about how they made their mixes and other stuff they ramble on about. I think that what I don't like about a lot of the clips is that they use three or four times the number of words that they need to say what they're saying. Again, I prefer that DarkeSword knew exactly what he was going to say and said it. It sounded sort of unnatural and rehearsed, but it was also no crap.

So I shouldn't say that nobody cares about technical details or defense against criticism. Many, including I, do. But please, don't ramble on and on as if everybody is hanging on your every word.

Most people wanna hear the music, and its cool to hear from the remixers... but it just a matter of getting the right balance, which is definitely less ramble, less time taken and more quality (and more time for music...)!

Yup, Rayz and I have been talking about merchandise... if we were going to make T-shirts though, we'd be focusing on the logos that Dakar has so tirelessly been working on for us free of charge. They are beautiful logos and would make awesome graphics on t-shirts...then again its doesn't mean we can't make other variations!!

I think so..
I sent them three promos (variations on a theme, if you will) about a week or two back. I'm not sure why they haven't said anything yet, but I assume that in that time they've been able to stick in a little clip of them saying "VGDJ: the official podcast of OverClocked Remix. Check it aout at www.vgdj.net" or something like that.
Will we ever hear the final version? I did as much as I can already, so that's up to team VGDJ if they are finished.

Only two submissions this round.. the whole comp needs more exposuri EMO. A remix contest that requires mixing multiple themes together is a brilliant (and fun!) idea.

Not my favorite episode, but I listened diligently because I am a VGDJ roadie (I was told that the distinction between groupie and roadie is very...important). In the future, however, I recommend just playing some highlights of the meetup instead of the whole thing. Yes I know it wasn't the whole thing, thank God. I would have died. Anyway, either make it a real show on the road, or just play some of the better parts and get on to regular business. I felt a little weird driving around listening to recordings of other people having fun.

As always, I'm looking forward to next episode.

Glad no one was majorly injured or anything but that would be pretty scary, especially since they thought they had landed without incident. I actually hadn't heard anything about this until you mentioned it, I was home from school long after the local news. I'll catch it tonight at 11:30 though.

Glad no one was majorly injured or anything but that would be pretty scary, especially since they thought they had landed without incident. I actually hadn't heard anything about this until you mentioned it, I was home from school long after the local news. I'll catch it tonight at 11:30 though.

As CBC is my home page, I was on it as soon as CBC was able to get web coverage up... and i gotta tell ya... shitty deal. I just got back from rugby practice but what was being speculated before I left for practice was that the aircraft was struck by lightning on roll out (the stage before the touch down on the landing sequence) ... or possibly earlier on final... if it had been early early on final, they may have been able to do a go around to see if they could fix it, so i'm guessing it had to have been closer to touch down...but anyways... struck out the braking and thrust reversing capabilities and boom there she be on the side of the 401. I'm not an expert on large commercial jet aircraft; like I said all speculation.

What was good was that everyone got out okay before the fire engulfed the cabin... and that it had nothing to do with religious extremists (just an agitated mother nature)

You just can't get this level of intrigue in regular radio broadcasts.

However, if you guys are interested in developing your DJ / show-hosting skills, I recommend checking out a public radio program called "Marketplace (http://marketplace.publicradio.org/)." It's kind of dry material (finance and business), but they make it rather relevant and engaging even to outsiders like me.

Since part of your intent is to introduce outsiders to OCR, you might do well to take a leaf out of their book. Sure, OCR is a world away from the stock market, but there may be a few pearls in the way they conduct their show that would intrigue you guys. Just an idea.

Hey hey! Glad to have you on board! If you're still a little weary about podcasts or you want to learn how you can get the most out of syndication, check out the first post of this thread.

I like the term 'podcast', but so many people take from that term that you require an iPod to have anything to do with them... hardly the case at all... you don't even need a portable music player. Just a computer... 'podcast' is just the name that stuck.

ALSO...don't forget to grab Ep. 004 - interview with God er i mean DJP himself... and personally I like Episode 006 the best (tho episode 011 was pretty good too :D).


pS: I can't believe that as of monday we'll have been doing VGDJ for 3 months.

Alright, confession time. I haven't listened to any episodes of VGDJ yet. When it came out, I had just been home from school, and I haven't had the internet access to be able to download them. However, I've been reading the thread and I already voted at Podcast Alley. Your show seems very interesting and entertaining from what I've read. Within the next few days, I'm going to be receiving my new iPod (and headphones, which broke), and I'm going to go to my friend's and download all the episodes.

Can't wait to hear 'em. They'll be the first thing I listen to on my new iPod when I upload them to it.

Oh, and Linearity, I go to school at UW-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin, if you know where that is, and my roomate's from Minneapolis. Though I'll be back at home in December, unfortunately.

I'm sure the rest of SCTV was pretty well known too me thinks.. Bob and Doug was probably the most well recieved and remembered feature from the show.

Yes we do have a pool and I already explained the 3 bedroom thing to Rayza but apparently he has selective memory, we both have our own havens aside from our bedroom.
