A couple of small things.
I love that a lot of reports seem to have Azumanga music going in the background, and also, using the Katamari music anywhere is always good.
...
That was certainly an...interesting stinger, by the way.

Not to rub any butter in anyone's faces, but if this grudge relates to what happened in the mastering phases of Chrono Symphonic, can you at least let that slide and come to a compromise? And I don't think he was attacking the thread; he thinks that you attacked him during the recording of the last show (which was my first forray into VGDJ and I gotta say it was a slick job between you and Wing :)).
I think a certain Black Eyed Peas song would be appropriate right now. Where is the love??
It has nothing to do with Chrono Symphonic. The joke was spontaneous; Wingless doesn't even know Compy. And yes, he wasn't attacking the thread; he was attacking *me*. The first example starting on page 101, with another bout beginning on 107, and finally on 111- you will see it on numerous occasions, not just since episode 031. Liontamer, DarkeSword and DJP himself all had to ask him to shut up. And this is only in the past few weeks. You'll find plenty more if you look, I'm sure.
But in any case, I didn't put John up to it, and what he did was purely for comedy's sake. Like I said, it's not going to come up again unless he provokes us with new material. As long as he minds his own business, as we, the mods, and the owner of this site have requested, it'll all blow over.
WesPip: Azumangah and Katamari ftw! I think I'm gonna continue to use Azu for the Compo Report, because it just fits well. Katamari will pop up here and there, I'm sure.
SosusOCR: Duhhh. I think you can trust us our ability to acknowledge when a joke is wearing off. ^_~

I intended to congratulate you two (Pixie, and Wingless) on a succesful first show, but then the next one came out, so good job on both.
Can't believe tommorow is the beginning of March. Well, it'll be time to vote again, I guess.
I hope there are a few more mixes to speak of by the time the next show airs, and I think that for
an intro you could play a segment of a random mix from the site, and kind of fade into the show.
Kind of like the way the intro is now, but with a different song each week.
And if there was an intro contest, the most I could contribute would be beat-boxing "VG DJ" into a bad microphone. It wouldn't sound great, but it would have SOUL!

I like the randomness that we're getting in the intros. It's sort of a hook. I'm always looking forward to hearing what weird thing is gonna happen after the "... djpretzel said:" line.
And wingless is doing a heck of a job co-hosting the show, too. VGDJ now has Soul +1.

Yes. I'm so happy her "Oh GOOOOOOD!" was timed just perfectly to synch with the pause inserted in the background music (http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR00155/).
One of us is gonna have a lot of fun with that one ;-) It would be me but my remixing experience is negligible...

Hmm, main thing with the show is all of the talking while doing the Remix review. It's nice to hear banter, but when you say "Remix Review", then I hope that I can hear the Remix after a brief 2 minute review. Keep the talking before or after the remix. Focus, focus!
I think I preferred the "summary of news" before the Remix reviews, myself.
Okay, so I managed to read on at the messages. I'm still a little concerned if this grudge existed since that phase in CS though, but I see where you're looking at.
Still I do feel a little concerned if he's rubbing what's been exchanged between you two the wrong way, and he's taken all this "aaaah, Pixie just flamed me" business too seriously. I know he's my squire within the kingdom of Trenthia, but I've had to put him on block until he can control his temper a little better. I'll release it every now and again to check on him though, thus that doesn't mean that I necessarily hate the guy.
Still, I am now puzzled on which side seems to be the instigating side, but whichever, I really want both parties to come to a halt with that sort of thing. I face enough drama with the DoD people shitting on me, and I don't want that kind of thing to come here too.
And... just for the record, it's odyssey and Nasenmann, not the weird spellings put in the shownotes :P

I'm glad that VGDJ has been picked up again. pixietricks and The wingless, great work to you both.
I do have a suggestion though: during the reviews portion, you may want to consider playing the mix in question as background music. When you play the 'highlight' of the mix, you could just turn up the volume. That way, you're giving it more exposure. I think it makes more sense than playing a completely unrelated song.
I really enjoyed the recent stingers as well. I rofled. However, even though I knew it was all in fun (or at least all intended for Compyfox), I found the last stinger to be slightly offensive, as I have German relatives. (Technically I'm 1/4 German, 3/4 Newfoundlander... what a combination! [also: don't get any ideas]) A word of advice: keep the racial stingers to a minimum.
As for your poll, I'm in favour of changing the intro.
Also, I voted x2.

He hasn't said anything about episode #032 thus far, so maybe he's laying low for a while. Anyway, I think we shouldn't discuss this in the thread anymore; that post was something you could have PM'ed me. Feel free to do so if you want.
Arcana: Only one remix review + short show = excessive banter. It won't usually be that bad, hehe. I know I told ya that on AIM last night, but just in case other people reading were wondering.

Because...I can understand how you stop POSTING because you "have a life" (which is cool, seriously, I mean I know probbaly 99.999% of the site probably does, too. But I'm glad that you're so glad to be in that margin that you decided to announce it), but had you CONTINUED to make posts, in the tone in which you were, you would've been silence. WHICH I'm pretty sure you were probably told on a person basis, and definitely were told multiple times in the thread. Heh...If I knew how do make a decent intro I'd do one. I am, unfortunatly, unskilled with anytype of editing and/or recording programs.
I don't even know how to rip sound from VGDJ to make a pixiemi...err...nevermind.

Yay, glad someone finally did this. I must say it's the best of the 3 mixes so far (sorry, Pixietricks & Wingless both!!). I appreciate the little references to both previous mixes (the Ums and the "Oh hush you"), whether that was intentional or not.
And TheWingless: be lucky your voice was featured at all in another person's mix. No one else was in Aurora's or Rayza's except them (well, except for the "Oh God yeah," but that doesn't count :wink: )

I also need to set priorities on getting my next WIP on TO's Doom 2 project sorted out as well, but I'm sure I will be able to juggle both fairly decently :)

Indeed it will, I've donated some of my (very little) spare time to make this. Mainly because I support the show, but also because The Wingless's's's's's's's design for the T-Shirt almost makes me black (as hell). I also need to say something about pixietricks so she isn't left out... you and The Wingless... you've done it... right?... I knew it. [insert more The Wingless love here]

For those thinking that Gray added all of those bells in Time's Anxiety, I'd clarify by saying that wasn't entirely the case. ^_^*
In the original MIDI that I passed to him, the pitched percussion that I specifically included in there were the music box, e piano and church bell. Other than that, those parts were extracted from the anime regions of Gray's brain.
I hope that clears things up a little :)

The intro was cheesey for a reason, and don't blame zircon for it. He did only the music part; it was Wingless and I's idea to add the cute voice and sound effects. And we never said we were planning on using any of these intros as permanent, so chill. The contest was for fun.
Midway just took on design work for some big affiliates, so that's why John is busy. If he can't get the shownotes in soon, I'll do them. But it looks like we're not going to have a show this coming week, I'm sorry to say. Normally we'd be recording tonight since it's Thursday, but there are no new mixes posted yet this week and not a lot to cover.

Well I personally don't think the cute voices and sound effects to zircon's entry suited it. It was slightly confusing and I didn't find it amusing. The main thing that I like about his intro is that it is relevant to OCR, the piece itself is pretty cool but the samples over the top make it out to be more epic than it is. Personally, I think that if it's going to be used, the samples over the top should be changed to make fit zircon's entry better.
And just so you guys know, pixietricks asked if we minded if they added samples over the top. For the record my entry only contains 2 vocal samples, at the end.

That sounds understandable; if I was in a big company I'd be more or less thinking the same thing. VGDJ needs a steady male cohost. It's not an easy job, takes a good deal of time and effort, but we gotta have someone who will really commit. Wingless did an excellent job for the short time he served, so I think we should all thank him for that. Still, this podcast has too much potential to just fade away.

I've thought about having two female cohosts, but I think that would significantly change the dynamic of the show, and not necessarily for the better. The male/female banter is one huge reason people enjoy listening to VGDJ. Also, it wouldn't be an accurate representation of the OCR community when there are very few gals around in the first place.
Please hold off your host speculations for now. If you have any suggestions, feel free to PM me, but let's not litter the thread with that sorta thing. <3 <3 <3

Well damn, I feel sorry for hearing about Wing bailing out like this :( In the short time I've heard him he did well to add some black representation to the show, and we are also glad to see that WinglessMix also came in time to make his moments shine on.
Still, I understand how rough it would be, but whatever happens, I say best of luck to John and his future endeavours (presumably at Midway, no less).
And to whoever thought I should work with Pixie, Jill hit it nail on the head; two females would mean a moderately inaccurate reperesentation of OCR. Besides, I think Nicole would do a better job filling in for Pixie should *she* go AWOL O.o
Anyway, for whichever male host that comes along, I welcome him aboard and will hope to see a good future that comes out of the application.
