Seriously, if there's not a class scheduling conflict or such, I'd suggest DrumUltima. I mean, he's right there, he has a talent for spontaneous humor, he seems reasonably on top of the community, and his call-ins have shown good confidence and stage presence.

(I know pixie asked for suggestions to be PMed to avoid drama and whatnot, but I'm having trouble seeing this suggestion being very controversial.)

If that's the case, he'd probably be the first VGDJ host that hasn't at all had any mixes on OCR yet. I think that's what's going to be the issue here, unfortunately. :(

I brought up Drum in the thread (as a suggestion), because I figured a lot of other people would probably be having the same idea, and if there was some reason he wouldn't be suitable, it would be better to quell the idea in the thread rather than having to explain individually to each person who PMs suggesting him.

In hindsight, though, it would have been better just to PM you suggesting you explain that stuff in thread.

Since I know the speculation isn't going to stop in this thread I should probably be the first to say:
I do appreciate poor pixietricks carrying the weight of all this on her shoulders unexpectedly, and we do <3 you, but I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we don't mean any harm. We know the rules but we just can't help ourselves; we're just doing what us Gen-Descers do and entertaining ourselves while we wait. Pease don't take it as we're deliberately disobeying your orders or trying to piss you off or anything.

So in summary, just ignore us and go about your business. We all look forward to it. 8)

Edit: Anyway, each pair of hosts brings their own dynamic to the table. Raza+Aurora was not the same as Rayza+Pixie was not the same as Pixie+Wingless. And that's allright; the last thing we want is empty imitators.

All we can hope for is that each team finds new ways to entertain us and make us listen in. It's happened the past 2 times, and I'm hoping it will happen again. Do I miss Rayza & Aurora? Yes, to some degree, but I was happy to have Pixie & TheWingless doing their own thing on their own terms. The latter will be missed as well now, but I'm eager to see what the future holds.

I was randomly browsing some OCR stuff just now when I noticed, the VGDJ Podcast description under Links>Radio says something like "The official Podcast of OCR, Hosted by Rayza and Aurora". I suggest that, once you find a second host of more permanence, you [ie: pixie] PM DJP and get him to change that.

Also, haven't got my tshirt yet, but it's only been a little over a week since I ordered it.

Mr. Andrew "Zircon" Aversa! It's about time we had a real shtyjdgfgt around, don't you think? I must apologize for keeping everyone so in the dark about all this. I just didn't feel comfortable announcing what was going on behind the scenes when nothing was certain at the time. But we coo now! As a remixer, mod, and judge, Zircon couldn't be more on top of the scene. His dedication should speak for itself, but just in case it doesn't... He's one heck of a dude. With a history of busy cohosts, I'm more than relieved that we're gonna have someone as dependable as Andrew around. Not to mention that we have actually met (and bonded, like seriously!) in real life, so I'm really looking forward to working together! Zircon goes to school in Philly and lives in New York, which are both managable distances from my own school and home locations, so don't be surprised if we cook up something special for the near future.

Anyway, I know some of you may be missing Wangless, but hey- life goes on. I think every host brings something different to the show, and I'm certainly looking at this as positive change. John had a great radio presence, for sure, but he couldn't devote enough time to VGDJ: didn't want to receive or reply to the emails, hardly ever showed up in our IRC chat, etc. We're gonna make this a real team effort again, just like the good ol' days. So please extend your warmest welcomes toooooo Ziiiirrrcccoooonnn! ^_^

P.S. We're shooting for an episode this coming Monday, but can't say for sure until we figure out some mic quality stuffs.

Yeah, that was a great idea in theory, but the show ended up being kinda long and boring for those of us who weren't there. Zirc and I will probably do something like that at another meetup, but actually include regular portions of the show with our guests adding commentary, and edit the recording instead of releasing the whole thing raw.
