WHAT'S A PODCAST?
It's the newest thing in online blogging. It's like a radio show that you download and listen to whenever you want. It's not broadcast live anywhere so you're not tagged with a schedule to follow. The podcast works around your schedule.
WHAT IS VGDJ
VGDJ is the official podcast for Overclocked ReMix presented by your hosts zircon & pixietricks. The podcast was initially started and hosted by Razya and Aurora, with Wingless being a host for a short time as well.
Here's what you can expect to hear:
- Reviews and clips from the latest mixes posted to the site
- A random older mix as selected by the Russian ReMix Roulette
- Special features recorded live at events such as concerts or meetups
- Reports from Rama (ThaSauce (http://thasauce.net/)), Cyan_Ide, and DrumUltimA, covering community news, OCR competitions, and meetups, respectively.
- And anything else we see fit!
Our shows are usually between 35 and 45 minutes, with the special episodes being up to an hour or longer (so far, never longer than two hours though). New shows are typically released Sunday at midnight, with a few exceptions for the bigger episodes that take longer to edit. If you're a dedicated site visitor, you may not find all the information useful, but for new visitors to the site, this is as perfect introduction. We want to fill a void in an increasingly popular media trend in hopes that more people can discover and participate in this amazing community.
WHERE CAN I GET MORE INFO?
www.vgdj.net has a link to the show, show notes complete with timestamps and working links to all mentioned URL's. There is also an RSS feed that you can subscribe to which will make following the progress of the show seamless. We are also listed on PodcastAlley (http://www.podcastalley.com/podcast_details.php?pod_id=4140) in the Music/Radio category (#1 currently!)
WHAT WILL I NEED?
1. Interest
2. A web browser
3. A media player (desktop or portable or both)
4. An XML/RSS feed manager (http://www.ipodder.org/directory/4/ipodderSoftware) that can automatically download new shows and import them to your media player (optional)
HOW CAN WE SEND FEEDBACK?
Your feedback is welcomed and encouraged! Please let us know how we're doing, how we're not doing, or if you have ideas for this show. This is not just a pixietricks and zircon thing. We are more than open to ideas and we want the community to be involved in this as much as possible. Our email is vgdjpodcast@gmail.com if you would like to contact us regarding the show. You can also post here.
ANYTHING ELSE?
You can either subscribe to our feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/vgdj) or go to www.vgdj.net to download. Links to the show notes will always be posted with the show including the links to everything we've mentioned.
We also have an irc channel, #vgdj on irc.enterthegame.net. Come and chat!
HOW YOU CAN VOTE FOR VGDJ!
There are over 20,000 podcasts organized and ranked at podcastalley.com. Because it's such a popular site, achieving high rankings is a way of gaining higher visibility for a podcast - which, for us, means video game music and OCR getting more attention! In order to get VGDJ higher up on the rankings, it's a simple matter of voting for us (note: simply downloading the show doesn't do anything). You can vote by going to the following link:
http://www.podcastalley.com/one_vote2.php?pod_id=4140
You just need a valid email address. Type it in, click on the link in the email that you receive, and you're done. You can do it once a month, since the rankings are reset on the 1st of each month. It only takes a few seconds, but it really helps, so please vote!
Lets have some fun with this, people!

I got the nescessary software and feed in minutes. I'm looking forward to a future of successful broadcasts.
- Somtimes 'Shuffle' on your own playlists doesn't cut it
OMG you guys talk like Canadians! YES. "Aboot"

I'm about 9 minutes in, and yes there is a lot of talking, but I was forewarned and thus far it is perfect for those new to the site. DJP should consider offering a link to #001 episode on the sites 'About' pages...
- Ah, the first song is off and running, and I think things are gonna start rolling.
:?: How do you create the broadcast? And if it isn't quite live, do you do more than one take? I am just curious to how the show is made.

Well mostly we get on Skype (http://www.skype.com) and just talk to each other. I record my half, Aurora records hers and then she sends me her mp3 and I mash them together with music, editing and all that stuff in Sony Vegas 6.0.. We had a couple retakes and we had some technical issues, but overall thats how it goes. We're gonna be able to put it together smoother and quicker in the future..
Also do you guys think the full songs should be played or just minute or so clips to give people the idea? I mean its a 64kbps stream anyway so you're gonna go get the real thing right?

I just finished the podcast; wow, great work guys. Alot of good content. I think it served as a fitting first episode, with some helpful information for non-OCRers that still kept the attention of those of us more familiar with the site. I was actually expecting it to be more awkward, and sure, there's a little bit of awkwardness in there, but it seems like y'all are already settling into the format and routine. Which, of course, is a good thing. All in all, fantastic start, and I'm already looking forward to the next episode.
[EDIT] Rayza, I think the clips are very appropriate for the format. The best thing would be to keep that balance of both full songs and clips that was present in today's episode; it worked well.

Personally, I would prefer the full songs being played as I have been on the site a while. For those new to the site, a clip would give them an example of what is being done exactly on the site.
The stream is pretty low bit rate, but I don't think it is that bad. If one wanted a solid broadcast of music, they could do the ormgmas stream, but this radio show makes it seem a bit more personal and in fun. I do notice a lot of 'Ums' but you aren't professional Djs aye. >>> Anywayz, my final answer is to do a couple full lengths, but for general reviews, or new music, just do a clip.
Aurora

Wangless!! THank j00!!
and YAY interest! hehee
I guess the 'play the whole song' or 'play clips' thing is episode dependant. Sometimes there will only be one new song up in a week... who knows, right? In that case I'm sure we can play the whole thing. I think we're just trying to keep some sort of format, but its definitely not set in stone...i think you'll see the show morphing into slightly different forms every week, but keeping the same themes... that's what podcasting is all about... freedom, baby. freedom :D

Pretty nice stuff.
I do notice a lot of 'Ums' but you aren't professional Djs aye.
You'd be surprised how hard it is not to do that. I've done a few recordings for a podcast, and I realized I say "um" a lot when talking. I learned to write out a basic script/overview for what I wanted to say, the points I wanted to cover when I spoke.
Helped a lot, hope it can help you guys too.
EDIT: I like more of this as I listen. Like the part on what to do when looking to submit to OCR.

Whats funny is that after recording and going through making sure it sounded okay, we both made a pact with each other to try and stop saying UMS and UGGHS... even ANNNNND so much... you just don't notice while your recording!! Its tough but I think the more we do the easier it will get!
Thanks for the tip!

Yeh and half the fun is being there in the chatroom and all. Theres a lot of + and - points for both podcasts and live broadcasts, but its all good..
Also if anyone wants to add me to their Skype im krag_x_one on there..
I'll get sorting this out later. Good stuff, since I don't always keep up with the whole VG scene.

Let it be known now that if you have something you wanna say that pertains to the site or the show, you can make your own mini podcast that we can include in the show. Any points of discussion, any comments what so ever, if you'd rather make your own mp3 instead of sending us an email, by all means, do that!

Except for a last song at the end (if you want, but I wouldn't - I'd continue doing maybe an extended clip like with DCT's mix), don't pad the show by actually playing full mixes. Playing clips only is supposed to entice others into checking out OCR and exploring the site further, plus you want the show, in its 30min format, to be fairly content intensive. That's what I'd be going for if I had a 30 minute time limit.
And keep in mind as you gain a listenership with the format that regardless, you need to record and talk about things as if you're talking to people very unfamiliar with the site so that you don't lose sight of who the podcast is meant to target. Great work on this, y'all. Keep it up!

I just started listening to this right now. A short show (compared to mine anyway, which goes on for 4 hours or more :P) but pretty informative so far. Of course, I already know most of the stuff about the site, but it's great to hear another radio show out there. :)
Also: Do you plan on maybe looking at VGMix as well, at least slightly? Not a focus shift, but at least acknowledging the existence of the site?
EDIT: Alright, the first song is by Goat! I give this show my stamp of approval.

Not sure yet, for now all attention is on OCR and the people within this community. If something else relevant comes up that has to do with VGMix we may bring attention to it.

Anyway, Rayza, did you have any preferance on what genre/specific game I reviewed? I found my RE4 written review, and I can use that as a starter block for a complete review.

It's always good to hear some voice to OCR, makes it seem a little more "real", I guess you could say. I know this isn't the original idea, but as stated, the time convenience is well implemented.

I don't think Rayza has to change his voice one bit... Rayza is Razya... not Rayza trying to be more fun. Rayza is dull and boring. Let us rejoice in this and be glad.
:D
Seriously, though... podcasting, when you think about it, is free speech to the max. We're not a radio show that has to get approval from FCC or CRTC or any other radio regulation agency... we can be who we are and that is awesome. I just happen to be better than Rayza... that's not his fault. That's God's fault.

It's not like it's not him all of a sudden- we all have different facets to our personalities. It's not like it's that big of a deal, but I nonetheless agree with UE that it'd be in the best interest of the show for him to spice it up a bit. As a broadcast journalism major, I'm sharing what I've learned while doing my own show.
You may not care about being professional since it's only a podcast, but if you look at any radio host that you like, any TV host that you like, you are interested in watching/listening to them because they have an energy that conveys what they're talking about as engaging.

I've listened to a few podcasts before, but I never knew they were called "podcasts." I just thought of them as cool radio shows you could listen to whenever you wanted. I will never look at them the same way again...heh.
Good show overall. It's nice to see more people trying to promote VG music and remixes in some way. Nice little thing at the end where you spoke of your first time meeting. I found that really entertaining for some reason.
I'd like to say that I agree that Rayza should sound a little more into the show while he's talking. It would definitely make it more interesting to listen to. Aurora's voice adds a nice balance to the whole thing and makes it sound more....complete...I guess. All the other podcasts I've listened to have had only males doing the talking, so it's cool to hear a female voice (and a good one at that) doing some of the talking.

Granted. I would have been more involved if he had been a little more colorful. However, Rayza, please for the love of God do not be one of those loud in-your-face DJs.
I'd prefer comfortable, natural, uncaptivating speech to somebody trying to sound energetic simply for its own sake.
But yeah, whoever said it is right, it doesn't really matter. :)
Edit: I'm debating whether you should play whole songs on the program. Clips seem weird...maybe I should get used to it. But I'd like to hear the whole song the right way rather than hearing some really jammin' part in the middle before I hear the introduction (i.e. that FF song with the guitar solo). However, I'm also interested in what you guys have to say, and wouldn't want too much time taken up by songs that, as you noted, I can download anytime I want.

Hey thanks YoshMaster, if we can get boosted up into higher rankings more people will hear our show and bring more visitors to OCR!
Also, I would really like to interview DJP, hopefully we can arrange something. And a judge would be a good candid look behind the scenes at OCR, does anyone have anyone in particular they'd like to hear from?
Lastly, we are trying to get little clips from the remixers that are going to be featured on the show so hopefully they get back to me in time.
Glad you like the show! Thanks for the support..

Hey thanks YoshMaster, if we can get boosted up into higher rankings more people will hear our show and bring more visitors to OCR!
no problems!:) i'm the first to think OCR should be known all over the world:)
you know, if it wasn't for the fact that I think my english sucks (i'm french speaking (from Quebec not france but still)) cause I find I have too much of an accent (I find it funny that people find it funny that you have an "canadian" accent too hehe) I'd gladly participate by Skyping with you (or sending mp3s or whatver) but you can always count on me for any kind of help (be it website, technical things, ideas, texts, whatever!)

hummmm I don't mind much I like them all (if I ever post a remix this line should help me...! :P

ohhh that makes me think...
you should try to put a WIP that you guys like once a week! maybe even try to "help" the remixer with ideas on how to improve the mix a little.. I find that the WIP forum is a great place to get songs that you may like and MAY not even find their way to the site so we could promote this tool!

Time restraints, they are already only playing clips of the remixes, I don't think they have time for a full WIP.

Well the only thing is that we don't really wanna play favorites, so picking a WIP would be kinda tough. For the RRR we're gonna see what comes up on a page THEN roll a dice to pick which one out of the 6 it is to really keep it random :)
Thanks for voting Walan, and anyone else that did.

but wouldn't promoting the WIP board but good to help not only listeners but remixers? they could see how the board help them to progress etc
and as for not choosing "favorites" you could simply take one at random or maybe the "newest" one at the time you're making the show or something...
anyway it's up to you:)
the best thing is to slowly change things up until you all feel comfortable with the show... let's not try too many changes at a time..

I've already told Rayza (thru MSN) how much I liked what he and Aurora have put together.

Also we've got a scene report from Rama c/o ThaSauce, an "interview-mini" with Tefnek and hopefully some the other featured mixers can contribute something. The next show will have more stuff rather than an OCR101 course. So check it out and vote if your haven't!

Mirrorsites +1 :)
I'm saving your files, and your shownotes. I can mirror the whole site if you like, but it's probably not necessary. I'm not even sure if the mirroring is necessary, your site is likely more stable than my desktop PC's cable connection (thank you, baldwisville cable brownouts), but i have a desktop server and i'm saving the files anyway. I don't have to do anything special, it just matters where i save the files.
I can also give you an FTP account linked to that space if you'd like as well.
Just lettin' ya know! I'll go back to your podcast now. ;)

Hey TimberWolf thanks a ton. It's always good to have a mirror around, especially since the mp3's are being hosted at Aurora's university. Who knows if they'll cut her bandwidth if they think something is up. I think we're ok for the main site, but the show notes + mp3 are on the university server so those would be good to mirror. Thanks again!

Not bad for a first episode. Not bad at all.
If you're after ideas, how about an episode where you review some of the best OCR remixes according to genre? Like an episode where you do the best hiphop, the best classical, etc.
and you gotta make sure to discuss the WIP forums sometime as well. WIPForum = thegreat.

Well the thing is that theres not really a "best" of this and that, it's all opinion. OCR does not have a ranking or rating system on purpose, just a community with feedback. I honestly couldn't pick the best of this and that out of the huge amount of mixes OCR has.
and you gotta make sure to discuss the WIP forums sometime as well. WIPForum = thegreat.
Yeh I use the WIP forum when I'm working on something, I think we can do a segment on that sometime..

Well... if you're on 56k dialup you should have no problems
Try 24k
Anyway, das hat mir gefallen. I'll have to listen in when I'm back to high-speed connection.
Compyfox
05-29-2005, 07:31 PM
Well I thought of 24k first but then again not a lot are using a mp3pro decoder (or some can't simply use one, like with Foobar or iTunes) so I had to find a balance. That's why I used 32kbit. Gives me half the quality that I'd usually have with mp3pro enhancement (mp3pro enabled = 44kHz Stereo, mp3pro disabled = 22kHz mono) and it still sounds great.
So yeah... I can't really support 33kbout users anymore. Those times are kinda over. But glad that you liked it. Maybe I do this a bit more often, so please keep an eye on the regular VG Frequency thread. ;)

The show is actualy way more informative than I thought it would be. I had no idea that there was a Kirby project in the works, so thanks for bringing that up. Also, I loved the Rama report, very cool 8) .

I'm honestly a little opposed to this. I have no problem pointing the audience to the WIP forum to check it out for themselves (hence including the WIP forum link in the show notes) ... but I think we should focus on complete songs available. We definitely talk about things that are up and coming like projects and stuff, and the remixer interviews are there to give some insight on how some of this music is made... Plus, our review section is long enough as it is! We spend like 10 to 15 minutes a show reviewing songs, and we don't even play the whole song! so I really think the WIP is for the listener to explore themselves, and like I said I don' have any problem promoting its location.
A few comments:
Is it just me, or did you miss covering the Dark Side of Phobos (Doom) album in your list of remix projects?
Rama Report was good, but he needs a new mic, or a better encoding.
Re: WIPs, I'm gonna say I think only dealing with complete pieces is best, and then only stuff from the WIP:Other forum.
Otherwise a good show.

Don't touch WIP. Wayyy to many problems inherent in trying to showcase that.
Instead, more random movie and tv sound clips.
That reminds me, those random movie clips really didn't sit well for me. They were cringeworthy, for lack of a better word. Getting some bumpers like at the beginning of the show would fix that.

Awesome, thanks y'all.. Thing is, we have to vote EVERY MONTH to keep the rankings going. Tho we broke 100 in 2 weeks, we will be able to do much better next month with a full 30 days. So yeh, keep it up and we'll be reminding you guys to vote heh..
I think the 'reading off the random mixes' thing should be shortened a bit, although Aurora still wants to read them off, maybe we'll omit the dates until the actual one is picked. It kinda drags on a bit long..
Also I've got word that a new DJP mix is coming out soon so we'll get a nice interview with him. Any questions in particular you'd like to have (potentially) answered?
Thanks for the support..
EDIT: Just checked on Podcast alley, looks like we'll need about 65+ votes to get into the top 50.. That shouldn't be TOO hard ;)
Also, we need to make a promo/skit/commercial to give to Adam Curry the "Podfather" & inventor of podcasting that he'll play on his show. Any ideas for that as well?

Yeah, I agree. A lot of the time that could be spent on more important things is held up in long-drawn out readings of lists and names.
I'd also like to suggest not doing this:
"And now we're going to talk about [subject X]"
*Talks about subject X*
Instead of announcing what you'll be talking about in a couple seconds, just jump right into it; it's rather redundant otherwise and it will make things flow more smoothly.

I didn't notice that. But yeah, if that what you guys were doing, try to make it less obvious it's an introduction, or drop it completely.
Also, if you can, try other intoductions to mix it up, like: "on that same subject..." or whatever else you feel is appropriate.
Just suggestions here, not trying to order you around.

Also, if you can, try other intoductions to mix it up, like: "on that same subject..." or whatever else you feel is appropriate.
Yeh the segue. Real broadcasters make it seem so easy, but I'm sure we'll get better as time goes on.
Those are some good suggestions always, about not announcing what we're going to talk about in 2 seconds heh. I'll keep that in mind..

Well, this isn't radio for a reason. There's an essence of freedom around podcasting because we don't have to be perfect.. We're allowed to fuck up. I guess because I've been listening to podcasts now (I'm subscribed to about 10)for about 3 months I've become a bit more leniant in my listening... it leaves an element of realism to the whole thing if its not always perfect all the time. This is in response to the whole movie quote thing and the intro/outro redundant thing.... I mean, the mannerisms, i can't understand needing to be fixed or at least improved because that's just bad speech... but like, yah. With practice we'll improve our recorded ways.
Don't take this the wrong way PLEASE :D you have no idea how much we appreciate feedback from the listeners... we try hard not to annoy anyone :D We'll get bettah!!!

Yes, we know it's only a podcast Aurora. But still, there's no reason to let it go to seed now that you're getting good.
Really, though, it's all up to you guys. As I said before, I don't want to try to force you guys to run it a certain way (as if I could  ). If you don't want to take our advice, I for one, won't be offended.
The main reason I suggest things is that I like to hear good shows. 's all. But, yes, you guys are already improving.

Dunno if this has already been mentioned, but I was thinking that in the future maybe every so often you could have something like a "special"... if a new site project is released, or something really major is going on in the 'scene', you could have an extended show or at least the majority of the show focus on that.

Yeh that hasn't come up yet but I'm sure when it does we'll take a little more time dissecting that since they are pretty major..

Wonderful second episode. Better than the first, and that one wasn't all that bad at that. Just as the others have been saying, it had more interesting content, you two have more confidence, and Rayza did a great job sounding more engaging.
Don't do WIPs. You got enough ground to cover already, and they're only potential parts of OCR. Wait till it's official, this being the "official podcast."
Badass intro. The second time round gave it weight as "the intro," and I just realized how awesome it is. :)
Definitely too long on the Roulette, but that's been said. I'll give you that you were describing what you were doing for the first time, so that somewhat justifies it.
If you can, you should try to get actual interviews, as in

This format would keep the voices changing and make the whole thing more interesting and engaging. It might go a little long if the interviewee expounds upon a question posed by one of you. But the clips from the remixers are pretty long already, and it would be more interesting than hearing housethegrate (awesome though "Seized With Fury" was--you guys made me download something that I wouldn't have otherwise) go on and on and on about how he didn't think anything else needed to be added to his song. As my dad said rather directly,
Are you going to play the song or are you going to keep playing with yourself?
It would also be a good way to pose questions that you think newcomers would have, if you're still going for the idea of bringing OC ReMix to new ears.
Aurora's getting all the attention for her voice (and for good reason) but for all the criticism of Rayza before, this time he sounded as good as she does. Good job, sexy.
Monday morning just got a whole lot more enjoyable. Truly, this made me smile long after I turned it off. VGDJs rox.
Edit: Oh yeah, I liked the Rama report. Good to have another voice, and good to see other sides of OCR.

Yes that would be a little more traditional, but with everyone and their schedules and technical issues its not always possible. For example I tried to get an interview with Kylejcrb tonight and that was just NOT working for us. Either I could hear him but he couldnt hear me, etc.. So I said just give me a clip of what you wanna say and we'll do that instead.
Hopefully we can get a "real" interview thing going eventually but for now I'm just happy with getting other people involved in any way we can.
I do edit the clips that they send in as well, getting rid of pauses and flubbed lines and what not. For Rama alone I think I snipped about 45 seconds of silence and other stuff. It's no ones fault, none of us are professionals, but I do try to keep the listener in mind and keep the whole thing rolling at a decent pace.
So hopefully each show will be a small improvement over the last. Thanks again for the support and spread the word, especially to non-ocr'rs!

Personally I just like the clips that the mixers have right now. It's like those awards shows where they have a the prerecorded presentation from the dudes who couldn't make it. Plus the free-talk is cool to listen to, especially since the mixer can talk about what they want to talk about.

I agree, the non-traditional interview style seems better. I like hearing about what the remixers have to say about their stuff. And for the clips vs whole songs issue (ok, I know it's old) just play longer clips. Oh, and I voted, just so ya' know.

Yeh I was thinking of maybe playing 1:30 instead of a minute.. Might make it "seem" a lot longer or something..
Also thanks for voting. The votes get wiped every month, but look what happens when I go wild at 3:30am the first of the month:

It's not "non-traditional". You can listen to something like NPR and hear their segments put together that way. It's a refreshing approach re: community radio here. I'd say keep the music clips at a minute, but lengthen them only when you need to pad the show, which doesn't sound like something y'all need to do.

You know it occurs to me if, somewhere down the line, you breach the top 10 mark, that's alot of pressure.
The kind of pressure that would make you flee to South Africa in a wet panic, leaving your adoring fans wondering in an atavastic stupor as to your whereabouts. And all around, the world turns on its axis in a nervous whirl, awaiting the words that will ease its mad dance, "Aurora took her top off on the radio."

The part I like the most is the remixers clip. It give a great insight on the remix itself and in music recording in general. It fits amazingly well between the reviews and the remix clip. Good job on this one Rayza!

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Unfortunately I had these conferences to attend these two weeks, and it just happened to be right in the middle of our inaugural shows. The plan was just to do them from the road...well...i think I can do this weeks from the road cuz the connection is actually decent (JUST GODDAMN EXPENSIVE!)
I guess we're probably going to have guest hosts now and then because well, there will probably be times when one of us isn't in digital wonderland (ie last week) ... I think it would be fun to mix it up if that's possible... not always the same guest or have a pool of people that are our replacements (when available)...
Thanks everyone for your continued support... its amazing!

This would be an awesome way to get people really into this. It sounds like a tiny contribution, but it is a great way to get casual listeners involved. There's nothing more thrilling than hearing your voice online, even if it's only a podcast. :)
I think it would be pretty fun to get someone different from the community every week to say, "In the beginning there was video game music. Then DJ Pretzel said: Let there be remix!" And then the person can say, "This is ___, and you're listening to VGDJ, the official Overclocked Remix podcast."
I'm catching up on the show... listening to #002 now. I like the "Person talks for a while" type of interview format. It reminds me of a documentary, actually.
Strong stuff going on and I'm glad to see that people here are taking notice.
And holy crap, I literally just left BC on Saturday. :) I COULD HAVE LIEK DROPPED IN LIVE TO THE AURORAHOT LOCATION AND GLOATED THAT I *was* in VANCOUVER.

Wow, just three weeks and Aurora's quickly becoming the geek sex goddess of OCR.
BTW, what is the VG song and remix that plays during the really cheesy intro? I like both.
One more thing, go with the remix celebrity bumpers. KyleJCRB uses them on his show, and they sound pretty professional to me.

The remix is "The Ken Song" by jdproject. It's on OCR.
The original is Ken's theme for SF2?

By the way, you guys might want to ensure that some of the names and so forth on the VGDJ show notes are spelled correctly. Both Kureejii Lea and Sephfire's names are spelled incorrectly in the notes for #003. I normally don't care about spelling mistakes, but getting names right is important.

Guys... so sorry for this. This is unexceptable and I apologize. I'm trying to juggle too many things at once it seems these last few weeks (what's knew) ... I apologize to Kureejii Lee and Sephfire ... no disrespect was meant and it was careless. I guess it just shows how much time these things do take ... I'll be more careful in the future and when I'm back from BC things should be back to normal and I can devote more time to this... i'm looking forward to it, believe me. Its been a crazy 2 weeks.

I've only listened to the third episode, but I'm already fairly impressed. Keep up the good work, folks.

Also does anyone think it would be a good idea to get very quick little tags from OCR members that we can drop inbetween segments? Like "This is The Wingless and you're listening to VGDJ" or is it just a waste of time? You hear them all the time on the radio like "This is celebrity-1, this is celebrity-2, this is celebrity-3 and you're listening to this stations callsign.."
I think instead of changing the Intro (because that's a key feature in recognizing the show), we should start putting episode tags at teh beginning of the file. For example (using Vigilante as an example)
"Hey, this is Vigilante and your listening to VGDJ episode 4" .... cue intro

Okay, bad news.
Today, i lost my primary drive's first partion in what may be some type of virus attack, as apperantly it's happening to others in Tech Help. I'm just lucky to have Knoppix to fall back on, or i couldn't be posting here now, or logging in to read about it.
Who knows how long this is going to take to fix, because i don't know if anyone knows what it is yet.
Good news is, the majority of my data is safe.
Bad news is, my OS is not, and without that OS, my server doesn't run, and we're -1 VGDJ mirrors.
Crap.
At least you're not dead. I haven't seen you for frickin' ever, TW.
