When it first came out yeah it was one of the more better games of the Tales series, too bad He-Man and the Masters of the Universe/Mattel got in the way of the name "Eternia" on US release, hence the incorrect renaming to Destiny II. (PS2 Destiny 2 is the real sequel.)

Personally I found the music in ToE much better than Destiny overall, though Phantasia was still more memorable, the music in Eternia really did fit the setting of the game moreso than Phantasia at times.

Actually, Eternia was never released in North America on PSP. Only in Europe and Australia.

PSP has Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology, which is more of an escort title (think it's kinda dungeon-crawling?). I've heard it wasn't too hot but its upcoming sequel (Radiant Mythology 2) is apparently showing a lot more promise with fifty playable characters from across the series (I think all of Phantasia's cast is in, but Sheena and Regal aren't present when it comes to Symphonia characters). Dunno if that'll make it out of Japan, but seeing as the first one did...

I have to agree with everyone else: now that you've suggested it, this must be done.

Fury Sparks, Staunch Opponent, The World At Your Fingertips, and Around the World are some of my personal favorites. Lots of good music there. Not quite as good as Symphonia's though. Vesperia was a great game either way.

Can't wait for this project to finally get released. It's gonna be so freakin' epic!

Well originally I was a bit skeptical about it coming out (as well as wanting to see a Tales project), but I've already been told by Dave a little while back that Tales was the next project to come out before Taucer's and mine.

Also originally FotS was supposed to be done by house and Rexy, and I was just commenting on how that changed and is being done by two different people.

So how about this: Since ToP got two released tracks like over a year ago, maybe we can have one or two ToS tracks released?

I realize that Kyle and others have been saying that this project is due out soon on OCRemix. That's all well and good. It's also what was said over a year ago as well. In the meantime, we need a bone or two to nibble on to keep our appetites whetted.

In all seriousness though, without getting any smart-aleck returns or answers to this question, I would like to know straight up the progress on the project. I can see the track list and what's been done, etc. But I'd honestly like to know what is left to do. Meaning, what is it that is preventing this from being released? What is there left to do before calling it final? I'm just wanting to know the bottom line on the project, that's all. Thanks.

honestly? I thought that was not an official OCRemix project, esp. since Blood on the Asphalt basically covered that material pretty well a while back. Didn't know it was in the line-up for OCR coverage like all the other projects are. If it was, I'd say its a shoe-in project entry. Not to demean or degrade anyone's work in the project, but its been done before in BOTA already and is rehashing old ground.
So anyway, let me get this straight, the website is almost finalized which means: the songs are all finalized and ready for release.
OCRemix is currently spotlighting SFII overhaul, so once things settle down for that (which is what? 1 month? 2 months?) there is nothing stopping this from getting released? Correct me if I'm making bad conclusions here. This is what I'm understanding based on what I'm reading.

It's not an official project, but that doesn't matter since we're still not 100% completed. The SFII was a major milestone for OCR but it has in no way interfered with our project. Just to get that out of the way.

Don't worry, when we're done it won't be long before we're going to be released. For the official progress though, you'll have to ask Kyle. He's the one that's got all the up-to-date info and the contact with OCR.

As far as I know, we´re still on track for 2011 ;)

I'm really surprised on how hyped I am for this project. I'm not a huge Tales fan and the only one I've completed through the end is Symphonia. Lots of guitar bias here as well. LuIzA was kind enough to give me a sneak preview for her collab with CarboHydroM a year back...loving that track.

We had to keep this manageable, so realize that a lot of good tracks were cut during the initial planning process. Also, keep in mind we're covering two games, so we really had to nail out the most noteworthy songs from them. A few of my personal favorites didn't make the cut either, but thems the breaks.

You do realize that keys don't mean shit when remixing it, dont you? Same for modulation. Besides, the two songs ARE very alike (you can't deny that) so it's only fair to give other songs preferrence. That, plus the remixers clearly had other preferrences.

And lastly, you could've requested it when the project was in the works (YOU HAD FIVE YEARS MAN), instead of complaining when the release is imminent

Here we have twenty-five tracks remixed from a game that's barely been touched anywhere and you're complaining that one version of a track has been covered over another. Quit sounding like a spoiled child, thanks.

Okay, I have a few things to say here regarding this.

Firstly, age means nothing. I was 19 when Time's Anxiety got on the site, so that has nothing to do with mental maturity here.

Secondly, aiming this towards the song requests, I personally would have liked to hear a few more tracks from the Symphonia side but I at least respected Kyle's wishes. You should try remixing them yourself, or better yet, take part in the PRC and request them as source tunes when you win. I did this when I wanted to hear some coverage for "The Land of Sylvarant" (PRC118 ).

Also to try and break down the drama, I just want to add that I FINALLY started playing Phantasia (specifically, the PS1 version) and I'm having a blast with it so far. I just got Arche in my party and I can't wait to see what happens next :)
