I have been working on this rave song for about a month now and while I was saving, my laptop died right after I hit save. Can I save it? how? FL STUDIO 9 I was using nexus 2 also.

PLEASE HELP ME :((((((:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Here is the file http://rapidshare.com/files/390785575/Booyakasha.flp.html

it can only be downloaded 10 times so only dl if you want to help. I REALLY NEED THIS TO BE FIXED BECAUSE ITS GOING ON ITUNES :(

I will include a shoutout to you in the song if you help me fix it/fix it.

First, go to this path and see if there's a project file:

C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio 9\Trash bin

Copy this file into your projects folder (and rename it), then see if it's the right project file.

When you save over a previous version of a project file, it automatically stores the previous file here as a precaution. This only works if you haven't worked on any other projects since this corrupted one.

Hopefully this will would as it's the best way to recover a corrupted file. There are a few other options, but they get progressively worse as you go.

EDIT: By the way, I always recommend you save new versions of your project as you make significant changes via File > Save New Version. I've had over 40 versions of a single song in the past :).

Nope, no way of getting it back. I mean you should be able to tell if you can't find it in your file: it's over, you're better off redoing whatever you did.

That's why you hit "Ctrl+S" periodically (save shortcut) and always remember what you do.

You can try the FL diagnostic tool:

http://flstudio.image-line.com/diagnostic/

No guarantees though.

Also, ctrl+s wouldn't have helped here, seeing that the file is corrupt anyway. ctrl+n = save new version. I use it all the time.

The diagnostic tool won't help. There's nothing in that file to recover. If you don't have previous saves, you'll have to start from scratch. Moral: "save new version" often.

This is too late for some, just in time for others.

If this doesn't work and your file isnt 0kb (EMPTY!) then you should try and hex edit it based on this forum post here:

Steve Laboy's Fix:

1) Load up your corrupt FLP file into fruity loops

The corruption error will show, fruity loops will be crippled,
and your song doesnt show up. First time i saw this i s*** a brick.

2) Click the "FILE" menu (up in the left hand corner) then goto "EXPORT" and on the submenu for "Export" that appears, click "Zipped loop package..."

3) Save this package to your FL Studio Projects folder (it should point you there automatically). Save it anywhere if you want, this will just make it easier.

4) Browse to the folder where you put this zip file, and extract the contents into a folder there.

YOUR WORKING PROJECT IS IN THERE! Thank Steve!

Yeah, I save new versions of my files as I'm working on them as well. And I usually do this in most programs I work on. I always save backup versions of my files because no matter what the software, sometimes it corrupts the file usually during the saving process and screws you over.
