BLOCKS!!!!!! (looks pretty sweet)

avaris

I don't see how they got "blocks" from a Seal. Features seems cool enough. Like to see how that would affect building a full blown song.

The next is a pic of what appears to be a trident. Or maybe a pitch fork. Maybe it will be some type of pitch changing device or multi fx device.

What do you dudes think of Blocks?

Looks interesting. I like it I think. If anything it doesn't make me like it any less? :P

Hmm.. the next pic looks more like arrows pointing to something...

Wow... you were right lol. Looks like auto-tune specifically for reason. That is FREAKING AWESOME. It looks much better as well :D

I got on the beta last night. Although I signed up within the 1st minute the beta was available so go figure. :)

Neptune is much more than just autotune. It can be used on any sound source for a creative effect. Wish they focused more on the voice synth part in the promo vid. :(

Oh BTW in every vid they show hints of the feature they debut in the next vid by showing part of it in the current video. :O

I signed up for the beta test today. I didn't see the link before :(. Hopefully I get some hookups soon :D Im gonna have to take a better look at the videos :D

Edit: I looked at all the videos again and I couldnt find any hints to the future videos... :S.. where do you see these?

Sampling bwhaha! Although I'll prob will never use this feature. Maybe to resample certain parts but that's about it. Anybody with a mic think they'll use it?

DJ SymBiotiX
05-27-2010, 04:45 PM
I might. Ive been meaning to sample lots of stuff, but never get around to it XD. Maybe I'll do it for once. I wonder what the last thing is.

You can also patch external audio through it in order to use it's FX. SWEET!

All of the other extra new features are listed here:
http://www.propellerheads.se/reason5/index.cfm?fuseaction=get_article&article=more

Coolest one is prob the hold alt/option to resize and time-stretch. any clip (audio, midi, automation) So glad they expanded that feature to include any clip not just audio clips. :)

Well crap, I went and bought Reason4+Record a couple of months ago. Now I'll have to shell out some more for the upgrade. Definitely looks like it's going to be worth it though. I wonder what took Live Sampling so long. It's something people have been requesting forever, isn't it? What made them change their mind, I wonder?

EDIT: Ok. Imagine if this video would end at 0:44.

Hey could anyone explain HOW TO USE ReWire in simple language ?

Also does Fruity Loops and Reason work well together for ReWire?

i have reason 4... love it. waiting to upgrade to reason 5. I am trying to load wav files of guitar riffs I made in Adobe soundbooth into reason thru NNxt or now considering ReWire because several users have suggested that route.

What does Reason Record do?

Dafydd
08-03-2010, 09:15 PM
Haha. It adds audio tracks, letting you record and edit samples on the fly (also featured in Reason 5), which means you can skip that whole mess with loading samples in nnxt... it has a 2D rack, meaning you don't have to put everything in one big tower. Also there's a huge mixer table thingy which makes things easier for those who prefer that kind of thing. That's pretty much it. If you buy it now, you get the Reason 5 upgrade for free, as well as Record 1.5, which includes the new Neptune autotuner, something the likes of with I've been waiting for since god knows when. Well worth the purchase, I'd say.

I'm looking forward to reviews of Reason 5. especially by those who hated reason 4, like me.

Dafydd

What makes you think you'll like Reason 5 any better? The only reason not to like Reason 4 is if you preferred the Reason 3 sequencer. Did they change it back in Reason 5?

Anyway, I ordered it asap and will hopefully receive it on Monday. I got new mics and stuff, too. Can't wait. :banghead:

There were a few additional changes to the sequencer in Reason 5. Nothing major though.

exactly. I hated the changes on the sequencer, took its intuitiveness away for me. That's why i downgraded to 3 no long after i got 4.

Other than that, 4 had no other features that could win me back over. 5, however, does have, i'd definitely use kong and the new sampling feature. And also there's this 'blocks', which I didn't fully read/get what it is yet.

Dafydd
08-29-2010, 09:21 PM
It's mostly a feature that helps you navigate your own song by letting you divide it into sections. Nothing major, but I bet it'll be helpful to most people.

I guess I'll just download the demo and see everything for myself, before I make a decision.

Dafydd

That's what it's for. I'm supposed to receive my copy today, but I still don't know if I really will. Crossing my fingers.

LuIzA

so I think i'm actually getting along with the sequencer better this time, even though it's essencially the same as 4's.

It'll probably take some getting used to, but I love some of the other new(er) features. I'm messing a bit more with the demo, but I think I'll get the upgrade.

Don't really use the physical modeling but I think the snare sounds great in electronic kit. Nothing super realistic tho ;)
