I've been around OC ReMix for a while now, but never made an account until now.
I can say with total honesty that this is the mix that finally made me make a forum account, just from seeing "Sixto Sounds" and "Dr. Wily Stage 1". I haven't even listened to the whole thing yet, but so far, it delivers.

Holy. Shit. This is phenomenal!
Sixto+Wily 1=total eargasm!
This might just beat Nekofrog's version as my favorite Wily OC mix, amazing work!

or should it be "rival to the Right"?
Hmm....
Well hey, it's pretty nice.

It's... a tough call, for me. Nekofrog or Sixto.
Ack, can't decide (meaning this one is freakin' awesome). I heard this before in the WIP forums waaaay back when, but it wasn't anything like this version. Epic, awesome, just great metal.
Everyone! It's Sexto! Go listen now!

Vicious. I never get tired of this song.

Ah yes, Juan's first and only DoD entry (http://dod.redheadedblacksheep.net/past/oct08/) (he might be one of the only prominent guitarists in the community who didn't come from the stable of regular DoD entrants [oh wait, I forgot Nekofrog and The Dual Dragons] ). The improvements are welcome and make a song I've been well-acquainted with for awhile fresh and awesome again. Badass stuff from Mr. Medrano, as always.

Well...whoa. Holy balls. This reminded me of Black Lagoon for some reason. Asses are kicked, colons are stomped and your Mommas are humiliated in this bangin' Wily 1 track. Jesus H. Christ. Can't express the epicness of this track.
Also, Neko, your track kicks infinite ass, too. Between the two...eff it - I'm rewatching Black Lagoon now.

Have to agree that this is some pretty classic Sixto work. But then, I can't really see how could be bad, frankly.

It WAS pretty straight-forward, could have used some keys or something. Power metal pads. I don't know. A synth lead. But it had nice production and the performances were pretty tight. Not too complex of a lead but that's what makes it shine, rather than robotic wankery or something. "Good wark!" -Nigel the Chocobo
Always welcome moar metal

The more I listen to it, the more I like it. I still think the beginning could have been a bit cleaner - if you really listen to the first minute or so, the solo lead varies in quality, shifting from back to forth. I am unsure whether this has been done on purpose or is a victim of shifting bitrates, but it feels slightly unnatural to me. Other than that, I like the forward feeling of this one, really well played Sixto. ...and I was so hoping of you doing some X2 remixes... ;)

I think Nekofrog wins this round.
Not to say this isn't a great track though... It's Sixto and Wily, what could possibly go wrong? Good stuff!

Oh no, not techno again!
I thought I'd heard enough mixes of this song, but, well, it's Sixto. Not much to say, really, other than that thing about the intro - it does sound rather messy, especially around 0:07-0:10. I would have preferred something more marcato on those short notes in the very beginning, but who cares at this point.
Keep them coming! :nicework:

It's Sixtoes! One of my favorite Artists on here! Of course I love it. I keep seeing all the same songs getting the OCR treatment, but I guess that's only because those songs are WORTHY to be re-made by these young masters. Good job. Again. :350:

Y'know, I downloaded this like nearly a year and a half ago on Sixto's site, which if you've never been there, you need to check it out. Juan here has a lot to offer in terms of media experiences, both visual and audio. I'd link it, but the computer that had the link on it died spectacularly back in December. x.x Google up Sixto Sounds, I bet you'll find it.
Anyhow, this is one of my favorite mixes of his because it captures so very well one of the very few times I started to feel heroic in a video game. The great thing about remixes... to a certain extent at the least, they represent sort've what you were really thinking as you were playing those levels as a kid. It's just like how when I listen to the final level music in Super R-Type on the SNES... the track pretty much IS a bit of classical meets funk. I consider it, personally, to be my first real brush with Industrial because I remember it with all the explosions and the intensity of the experience, which lended itself to the (literal) heavy metal grinding common to industrial.
The best mixes transcend simple covers-they play off the gameplay and emotions people remember, and this does that successfully.

I read the entire comments list before submitting my own, and found another rendition of this source track done by Nekofrog.
Nekofrog does better at making the source his bitch, in my opinion.
With that out of the way...
Sixto your solo is flat out awesome. I would have loved to hear more variation on your guitar rhythm, like what you pulled off (in closing) around the 4:05 mark.

Ha, this was a great Dwelling of Duels track. It even got third place! (http://dod.redheadedblacksheep.net/past/oct08/) Don't see why the review didn't mention it originally being from Dwelling of Duels.
Anyway, awesome song. :)

I didn't remember it was from DoD, but it's a revision from the DoD version regardless, and not the same one.

Awesome remix. I've had this one in my OCR rock list for some time, and it's always a treat. I'll have to listen a bit more, but I think I like this cleaned up version a bit better than the DoD one, and adding a phaser always makes things better. Although I do miss the pick slide from the beginning of the old version

Kicks ass. Can't believe nobody mentioned that it's done in the X Japan style, and X Japan is awesome.

I've heard Mega Man 2 done in every possible way, from heavy metal to 2000bpm techno drum n bass.
Sixto Sounds comes through here with a true remix, something so familiar for the first 2 mins, a song that would stand on it's own as being one of the best.
Then the song transitions to show that this is just the tip of the iceberg.
The rest of this song was a compliation of changes in pacing & tempo, you truly were at the mercy of Sixto on this one. This song rocks.

And for those making comparisons to my remix, let's try and not do that; this is about his remix here, not mine.
But mine IS better. :350:

Each person wins the METAL CONTEST in their own way, best not to have it be a competition. It's about the music, not always trying to one-up someone else or whatever the phrase is.

This was never made specifically for DoD. Somebody, I forget who, just convinced me to submit my wip to DoD since it was free month. Anywho, thanks for the comments guise. You make me blush. :<

The only way to settle this between Sixto and Neko is for them to simultaneously remix Megaman 4: Wily Stage 3's theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzGPj_vpclE). Or, uh, Megaman 5's Wily stage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtoQG2kdlYc&feature=related)...
Yes, I am positive that will solve everyone's problems. Get crackin'!

Somehow I totally overlooked this for the last couple of days :o mea culpa.
What I like about mixes like these: picking a great source challenges you immensely to improve it - and this is what Sixto delivers every time.
Also I like the X Japan style going on in there.
Great listening to it. Thanks for sharing this.

And once again, Sixto wanders the wastelands in the setting sun, guitar on his back, leaving a trail of melted faces and exploded skulls in his wake.
This song's been done a million times over, but it still brings something new to the table. Awesome.

I've had the original from the October 2008 DoD on my comp since... well, October 2008. It was pretty damn epic. And after listening to the DoD version and then this version last night, I have to say one thing.
somehow, you made it even more epic, Vito. Way to go.
I THINK DON J PRETZEL IS PLEASED, VITO MEDREONE!! YA HEAR DAT? DA BOSS IS PLEASED!
:P
Great guitar playing, and the drums did feel like something Xjapan would do.
Great work Sixto. :-)

Another great remix of one of my favorite game soundtracks ever. Everything you'd expect from Sixto, a fast paced jammin' remix.

Definitely hearing the Okkusenman influence Sixto mentioned in his submission email. Also, I agree with what previous posters said about the drums; they definitely have some X Japan in them.
And of course, there are the sweet-ass solos that are Sixto's trademark, e.g at around 2:20 and 3:20 onwards.
Awesome.

2:12 till about 2:40 was soooooooo X Japan lol and the drums of course. Anyways awesome remix from Sixto as usual, even though I'm totally biased towards him since Obsession Nocturnal was my first OCR listen and SD3 probably my favorite game of all time so yeah, +1 for a remix influenced by X Japan also one of my favorites.

I heard this a long time ago on Dwellings of duels site and was amazed then.
And i'm still amazed now well done for rocking up wily's castle.
If megaman had just went up to wily's castle with this song playing he wouldn't of had to even defeat wily as the walls would of come down from the intenseness of rawk.
Well done sixto :D
