What did you think? Post your opinion of this ReMix.
Amazing. I'm a huge new age/euro/whateveryouwannacallit fan and this song manages to encompass everything i love about the genre. Reminiscant of Enigma, Deep Forest, etc (right down to the drumloop ;)) which is only a good thing in my mind. C64 remixers have some amazing stuff and I'm glad this found its way here.

Nice to see another Kwed (http://remix.kwed.org) remix make its way over to OCR. =D
The first time I downloaded & listened to it, the vocal loop put me off. But I came to realize how well it fits in with the song... which has been one of my favorites for quite a while now. So smooth & groovin' you can't help but chill.

AHHHHHH! I second what Myth has to say. I'm also a huge New Age fan, and suffice it to say that I'm *really* digging this. The arrangement never gets boring, your vocal samps are used brilliantly, and the outcome is flawless. I have not a single complaint. Seriously... I LOVE this! I haven't been this excited about a new mix in quite some time. Kick ass!
(Waits for Gray's review... I'm sure he'll dig it as well.)

This is really nice, a very calming listen. The instruments all sound so vibrant, this is truly awesome stuff.

Lots of electro-new age mixes lately. We have another one in the panel waiting to be posted. :o I was meaning to vote on this, but I forgot.
I think the keyword of the day here is slick. While I'm personally uncomfortable with the use of loops, thankfully the rest of the mix and the supporting elements are fantastic. The famous enigma loop is still pretty damn sweet though.
I really like the texture of the mix, and the instrumentation is just wonderful. Production is superlative, everything just clicks and sits well in the mix. Tite.
Quite amazing. My only complaint is about the drumloops. But the instrumentation is pure fun. Itīs curious. My favourite part is when the vocals did some panning effect. The beginning get a rest to do a relevant part at 00:48. I love it, very ethnic and electronic. Overall, this is a great ReMix. I will look for some New Age stuff, because I liked what I found now.

Great chill piece. The stuttered voices work perfectly with a consistent bassline, and nice synths in the background (alternating with the voices) create a very nice vibe. Great work, hope to see more!
First off, I would like to say great work :)
However, can we get a link to the original (not re-encoded) version? I would just like to see how much of a difference there are; there's some parts that sound a bit more staticky, not sure if it's intentional. It's not to the point of grating, but I was just wondering if it was due to the samples used or the encoding.

I want to say that, due to the majority of the instruments used, it's too mellow for me.
But I can't. I really enjoy this.

A truly beautiful piece. Like any worthy track composed by Enigma, this makes me feel relaxed and content.
Good job!

An Enigma-inspired new-age elektronika remix ? Why the heck not..It sounds really great.
I fell for the mellow flowing sounds directly. And then hooked for like 5 loops or more until i could press stop.
Damn fine quality new-age here :D

Is it just me, or does this ReMix conjure up images of Sonic CD USA? This is in the vein of some of Spencer Nielson's work for that game. Not to say that's a bad thing, because it's not.

great work.. but the drum intro at 3:49 is a little too loud. it made me go "oooo! ouch" my ears. A little compression there wouldnt have hurt. the rest is great though.

This is the freshest, most creative and rawly powerful OC ReMix that's been posted in a long time. I'm surprised the Judges let it on.
Fantastic work, DHS. My hat is off to you. :)
Now I want to dig up a C64 emulator and play this game for the first time, and that is the mark of a good game-music arrangement.

Awesome. Some 2-3 years ago I was making a game (get it here: http://www.chispito.com/~guio/Ram/HQ.zip ) and I needed some midi music... So I find this really good tune for a game called "Human Race" that I've never heard of before.. So I decided to use it..
And that's the same song that's remixed here, it's wonderful! Anyway, I don't know about the technical aspects of the song, but it's good, I'll keep listening to it even if I had never heard the "original" before.

YES! I loves me some DHS. Subtune 1 (Infected Edit) from Apidya is one of my favorite songs, and this song right here looks like it's going to join the ranks.
Such a sweet beat; feels slightly indian, which is always nice for a guy like me. Groovy beats, awesome soundscape, perfect production. I love it.
In other news, I've removed two posts from this review thread. I ask that forum members only post their comments about this mix, rather than taking a potshot at the judges panel or providing a rebuttal thereof.
Any further discussion can be taken to PM.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. Shael and Liontamer both: take it to PM and keep it there. Two sets of posts have been moved to Abuse.
Thanks for the reviews dudes.
I really appreciate them :)

I will admit this, that when I first listened to this piece, I greatly disliked it. I had actually told the person I was talking with at the moment that I found it rather sad what some people passed off as music nowadays. But...
That was... in error. I listened to it, and something made me listen to it again. I don't know what, or why, but I desire to hear it again, and so I repeated it. The second time through, I again thought it was a poor piece, but I started liking some of the parts which I thought were out of place at first, and by the end of it, I actually thought it was a relatively acceptable mix, though perhaps not quite a style I preferred.
I repeated it again.
It was odd... That is the best way to put it. I've stopped listening to it as I do with many mixes, stopped turning a critical ear towards it to listen for the good and the bad, and have simply let myself hear it, which is something I find difficult to do with music.
The music, the vocal samples, even the "ahh" at 0:45 and 3:10, which I at first thought to be a terrible addition, especially as the music seems to nearly stop, it all flows so well together.
DHS, you've put together a wonderful piece. It is both simple and complex at once. There are so few different vocal samples in it, but I feel that there is nothing which could replace them without, at the very least, changing the piece in its entirety, if not ruining it completely.
DHS, excellent work.
Be Well, and Blessed Be.

The first 90 or so seconds really get on my nerves, but then the main song kicks in and tears my ears a new asshole. This song fucks me in the ass -- in a good way.

Wowza. This is a really great song, the first I've bothered taking the time to post about. Every element seems to just ... fit, even the the sliced-up vocals (which remind me of a track from Age of Empires II).
My only complaint would be regarding the simpler part of the song, around 3:02, but it's almost worth it just to hear the song kick in again, full force, at 3:49. Man, that flute...

This sounds like Enigma's style, only better!

I love this piece. It's got just the right amount of laid-backedness to make a chill arrangement, yet it's not without a good melody (one that I hum randomly a lot now). The voice work at the beginning was/is pretty sweet as well.

I have to say I never downloaded songs from games I'd never played before, let alone heard of, but I decided recently to start doing so and I'm glad I did. This tune is truly awesome. When the beat came in at about 0.48 I immediately thought of Enigma, gave my skin a heat rash from the adrenlin pumping throuh it. Its funny how music can do that to you sometimes. Excellent track.

Heard this on VGM, and immediately fell in love with it--this is easily one of the better songs I've heard in a LONG time. Excellent work. :nicework:Exactly the same situation for me, I do not know how this one skipped me, for gods sake make more remixes sir

this is not bad
a little too new-agey for me
but very well put together

I love this remix! It has a groovy, funky feel to it that i could put on while driving in my car.
It's different and original. Very, very well done!
great panning vocal synth chopping to start out, and though the beat remains pretty static throughout, it's interesting enough to not be completely dull.
The bassline and other tuned rhythmic instruments overcome the loop's curshing sameness.
Nice celebration of just having a refreshing beverage at 3:10.
Overall a pretty well done mix with some good ideas, but it's brought down by that single drumloop. Still very listenable though. :-)

Pretty cool beginning with the sequenced synth. I'm a bit torn on the voices at the beginning, probably because they're so exposed. Once things kick in at :48 with the beat and bass, though, it suddently all seems to come together. Nice smooth bass underneath an early 90's (?) beat. Nice production throughout... the word smooth comes to mind again - I'm just really digging the general vibe. I thought the delayed flute-ish lead during the breakdown was a nice contrast before everything came back in. Definitely a keeper.
