Wow, this is something sweet. There are some very interesting and very odd sounds in this one. I must so those deep drums intrigue me as does the lead instrument. This is very well done AmIEviL.

If there were a Mega Man movie, here's the opening credits theme. I can imagine spotlights shining through broken beams and steel grills in fog, sweeping over the camera to coincide with the sweeping sound effect...

While we're on the topic of this remix... What's it a remix of?? I cannot match this song with any song in Rockman 4, at all. It doesn't sound anything light Brightman's stage, nor Pharoahman's, which were the first two that came to mind... Then I tried lining it up with other songs, and couldn't find any similarities... Being the avid Rockman fan that I am, either this is less of a remix and more of an original piece, or I just plain missed something...

Addendum: Dustman's theme? *scratches the back of his head* ...oooooookay... If you say so, AmIEvil... dj pretzel... Real obscure, in my opinion... I can barely make the connection...

I realize you said "IMO" but thats just wrong to even think that. Not all of his songs are great, but about 95% of them are. He owns and controls your brain, just by the way.

From the lilting beginning lead, to the timpanini drums (is that what those really big drums used in orchestra are called?), to the very cinematic sounding violins, this is a song well deserving of being ANY movies opening theme. Seriously, if there were a Megaman movie, I could see the song playing as the opening credits rolled by, with lights fading in and out around various parts of a lab and various parts of MM as the scenes dissolve into the main title. A bad*** remix if I ever heard one. It's very odd though, as the remix tends to hold little of the original track, as forgettable as that and most of the MM4 music is, IMO. Still, incredible at any rate.

This is the most spectacular peice of music I've ever heard. No, no just out of video game remixes. I mean, out of everything. Better then any professional band's musci (I admit I haven't heard much, but it blows away what I have heard), better then any actual in-game music, etc., etc. I'm sure you guys get the point.

Not being musically oriented, I can't really comment on the actual instruments of any of that technical music stuff ;)

Ah, another lovely AmIEvil remix. The greatness of this song easily lies in the percussion section, creating easily, one of the best beats in OCR yet. When the clock strickes 01:49, the song just gets that much better, as another repetitive intrument enters the scene for a bit, and adds into the excitement of the song. Long after I listened to this song, it stayed stuck in my head. As most people have said, this is very good, so its recommened to nearly everyone out there...kudos.

Great remix. The only thing I can say bad about it is that the timpini sounds a little fake, but other then that, extremely catchy, and I love the atmosphere it creates. 9.5/10, easily one of the best on the sight.

I'm with all the other posters on this one - does it get any better than this? As befitting a Megaman remix, this feels like it has a very robotic vibe. Not like a robot, I mean, but more like a conveyor belt or a factory or something. The quick blips of static that set the beat (or are those the timpanis a few others have complained about?) make me feel all tingly inside. This has great ambience and feel, even if I can't exactly tell you what part of it makes it great. Highly recommended.

I only had the gameboy MM3, which had dustman in it. That was the hardest gameboy level for the longest time, it took forever to get far, then the crushing ceilings weren't fun at all, needless to say i still enjoyed the level cause the music was great, but this is something really great. If only the old old gameboy could have packed this much into it i'd just sit in the first area listening to this

Wow - I had forgotten about this song when my hard-drives got formatted. I KNEW I remembered an awesome remix of the dustman song, and I'm glad I remembered this. One of the best remixes on the sight, and it's like, 3 years old too, so a lot has come after it. That's saying a lot.

I dunno, it sounds pretty good, just out of place. It's very bright and clean, compared to the rest of the mix, which seems much more dark and slightly distorted.

Lucky for me I decided to look at this one; right from the intro, I knew this was gonna be pretty sweet stuff. It's very catchy, if that's the right word for it; it just feels right.

Nah, its a completely original song that borrows about 5 seconds of notation from the dust man theme. Very good, but not a remix.

I can't believe I didn't review this a year ago - This was one of the first mixes I got off WinMX that compelled me to go to this site.


AmIEvil has done some excellent work with other mixes, but this is one of the best of them all. The title is extremely fitting to the atmosphere of the mix - Slow, dark and electronic. Very fine attention to detail, and an awesome remix overall.

Twisted, Slow industrial. Dark indeed, in a fairly unconventional way, but unmistakable tone.

Since djpretzel kindly said that and also put it in the remix info, I kind of knew that. My real question was more like I couldn´t recognize it even when I knew what track it was. AmIEvil has really transformed the original into something almost unrecognizable, I gotta give him credit for that, and he manages to pull it off with many different synths and a good variation of beats. The dark and heavy drums that picked up at 0:38 gave this piece some more power indicating that it now had gotten into its rhytm. The strings that then followed was simply beautiful, and as everyone already said, this is good enough to be music to moviescores.

But my favorite part is still at 1:49, the synth fitted into that trippy melody perfectly, it was the reason that I downloaded this remix. I may not hear the theme so well, but AmIEvil compensates all of it by giving us one fantastic arrangement that works like a scratch behind your ears. This is the result of a true remixer.

I just heard this for the first time today and dug it - a good mix. I didn't think that it was quite as amazing as everyone else did/does, but that's cool. The production was awesome, great industrial feel... some seriously tasty moments with the actual Dust Man theme; I didn't realize how many idiosyncracies there are in the original piece until I heard this remix. However, for me, it was a bit static - didn't seem to have a lot of forward momentum. Maybe it's cool to chill to? Maybe that's the arranger's intention? I don't know, it was cool, but didn't blow me away.

Beautiful gated synth up in here. Seriously that is one of my personal musical weakness, along with tambourine and other weird things. ANyways, I think the kettle drums here really add that certain 'je ne sais quoi' that sets this mix apart from other atmospheric adventures, and subtle panning and a cool quasi-harp keep the interesting elements coming. I think a lot of AmIEvil's work is a bit hit or miss, but there's no mistaking that he was a big name in early OCR, and this song is most definitely a 'hit'. Nice work dude, and thanks for helping to make OCR what it is today. :-)

Really cool mix. Love the crazy little synth sounds throughout, adds a helluva lot of character. This song has great pacing and changing textures; it is a real joy to listen to.

I'm really digging that percussion; it seems vaguely out of place yet just so right. lol
This has a really unique hollow feel to it, which really doesn't detract from it but rather adds to the personality of this mix. Really, this song has a lot of textural value both to the ears and almost tangibly so. While it feels deceptively simple, it is an amazing song to listen to.

Another great mix from AmIEvil. He continues to show how musically versatile he is. This mix is all about layers and layers of sound. You have to listen closely to catch them all, but they come together to make an impressive soundscape.

Way too liberal in terms of arrangement. Trying to connect the dots between this and the Mega Man 4 score is a complex amount of detective work, and it shouldn't be like that. The music itself is amazing, but I really think that a large aspect is missing here: The videogames. It's a stretch to call this a mix... its more Music Inspired By Mega Man 4.
But like I said, it's GREAT music. I recognise the percussion from one of the earlier Bjork albums, and its used to very good effect. It definitely gives the mix gravitas. The strings and synths serve the mix well too, and it all equates to a terrific, moody piece of music. But it obviously had a lot more focus on being produced well than representing the game it's meant to be derived from.

This is one of my favorite songs from OCRemix, ever. I've loved this song since I downloaded it when it was posted so many years ago. And yes, I'm calling it a song not a remix because it hardly is a remix, but its a great song nonetheless. You have to listen VERY carefully to get a glimpse of the dustman theme.

I recommend this one because it has aged really well and it's still top notch material.
