Unique mix. It turned out alot more intricate then I thought it would in the beginning.

Nice tune, and nice job.

I thought it was well constructed, and rather cute.

It's always nice to hear some weird synthy happy rock. My only real qualm with this mix is the rhythm guitar sounds cheaply distorted (mainly around the 1:50-2:15 part); like Dranagen was either using one of those lame super fuzz pedals or one of those crappy 3 inch amplifiers. Kinda' sounded like me at my highschool's battle of the bands when I was, like, 16. It's cool in a garage band sort of way though.

Overall, it's damned rockin'.

EDIT: It totally sounds like Closing Time. Y'all weren't kiddin'!

Holy shit! This is cool. I never would have thought of doing something like this with that theme. This is absolutely beautiful.

Chaos Temple has got a complete make-over, and it works. This sounds almost identical with most of the pop-rock bands out there, some happy tunes that sprinkles out of my headphones along with some good drums and synths. One of the best remixes from Darangen. Good stuff. :D

Thank you, Darangen. I finally managed to resuscitate my computer after 3 weeks of horrifying luddite-ness and this was the first thing that came wafting over my speakers. Friggin' awesome mix. I haven't liked anything from OCR this much in a long time. It does sound a whole lot like closing time, but that's not a bad thing by a long shot. Rawk on, man.

This is a flat-out feel-good mix. Good times, good friends, more than a bit of fun... methinks I'll be adding this to my regular playlist :)

Thought some of you might like this:

Finally Home - Reason File (http://www.darangen.com/download/reason/ff1_finally_home.rns)

Since this is my first release using Reason through the ReWire option in Sonar, I thought I'd share it. Who knows, maybe someone is wondering how I got the sounds.

I am unsure if this is a Daragen bash or a Reason bash... but, either way, you're such a meanie.

Perhaps he was merely pointing out that there is (almost) no such thing as a professional remixer?

No matter. "Professional" was simply bad word choice on my behalf anyway. I guess I meant something more along the lines of "OCR accomplished" ;)

I agree that this really sounds like it's missing vocals, and the semi-redundant loop/repeat only reinforces that feeling. Should definitely get some lyrics up in this piece.

As a whole though, great work. It's always a delight to hear a new Darangen arrangement (Darangement?!).

I love this song!! At first while reading DJ Pretzel's review I was listening to it and finding it ok but after the song ended I somehow felt like I needed to listen to it again.... and again.... and again... I spent the whole evening/night with it lol! I even listened to it while in bed before being to tired to continue:P

I LOVE the calm of this song... it's just happy but not in a "overdose" kind of way... I just fell in love with it that's for sure...!

Thank you for making a song I'll listen to for years to come!! It's on my iPod that's for sure;)

This mix sounded like it wouldn't be out of place at the end of a movie about college, and everyone passed their courses and got their dream careers. I also couldn't help but find it similar to that Holy Grail song... I can't think of it's name now, it's probably staring me right in the face... Overall, this is a great mix, it's definitely staying in my playlist :D

What Noobix said .... am I feeling this? Damn right. Lyrics certainly wouldn't go astray (and let's face it Darangen, you're one of the better male lyricists here). There's a definite ... uplifting quality to it, something I've only otherwise felt when listening to Metal Gear May Cry.

Credits theme? Definitely. There's a feeling of victory here.

I love this song. It just as your Gerudo Valley remix, but in different ways. This song as a peaceful, upbeat feel to it.

I give it a 9/10. :)

I really dig this one! I'm actually very impressed that you managed to take a relatively slow and "sad" sounding track (Chaos Temple) and change it into something a little faster and a lot more upbeat and cheery.

I'd like to hear this at the end of Final Fantasy. When you want to hear it in the actual game- That's always a sign of an excellent remix!

I love it. Very smart interpretation, Darangen. You never cease to impress me with your impecable playing and perpetually reinventive arrangement. Somebody tell Uwe Bowl to make an awful Final Fantasy One movie and use this as the end credits theme; surely it would be the film's high point, for more than one reason.

Upon subsequent listenings, the intro's been reminding me of Today by Smashing Pumpkins.

No doubt I'm a sucker relaxed, reflective electronic rock music, so this mix hits all the right notes with me. With a style reminding me of Tears of Contention, this mix definately feels like a part of a much larger story; no doubt why many reviews mention it would feel good at the end of a movie or video game, and I'll second, or third, or whatever that motion.

The key, I think, is all in the synths. With the grinding, distorted guitar behind and the silky smooth synths leading and providing added effects, the mix proves that in music, opposites do attract.

My one minor point, is that I think the synths are drowned out too much by the guitars, so I might enjoy a small dynamic tweak there. But that's only if I had to pick something out.

First rate.

After further examination, I think this song sounds more like "Today" by the Smashing Pumpkins than "Closing Time". Either way, this is still rockin'.

I love this one. The 'Warriors of Light' remix did a great job of transforming the original track into an uplifting rock theme, but this one just takes that to a whole new level.

...But I can't decide which I like better!

I vote for SP-similarity for sure. And, yeah, it could use some vocals. This must be the karaoke version, yes?

In other words: it's totally rockin'! Though, I'm not a huge rock or emo fan, the skill shines through. Keep it up.

I played this song for my music theory students, and we all agreed that it should be played at the end of an 80's show about some teenager who learns new life lessons and narrates every episode.

*Cue music* *show teenager polishing his beat up Buick* *Cue narration*
"...and in the end, did it really matter if I didn't win the Corvette? Well, yes, but I know there are better things to worry about, too."

Then again, I come up with random things. Regardless, I really like this song. The interpretation on it is amazing, and the change of style really fits well. Definately a keeper for me.

Another rock style for Darangen to experiment in! For me, I almost hear this as an older Matchbox 20 track or something that I would hear on TLC/HGTV. I like the soft synth leads you have. Creates a warm moment in the music. Very reflective. Infact, if I didn't know this was Darangen, I would guess it was an early OA track :). I like it a lot. Mixes of this type don't seem to be terribly common here on OCR and it's a great breather from the norm. After finishing the track, I feel that there is some life lesson that I should've come away with.

"You know, as I looked back on my life....."

Good work man!

One word that sticks out in my mind when I listen to this is "homesickness".
The way this is arranged it's so beautiful and just seems to hearken back to better, simpler, long past times. The way the mood is so masterfully crafted here is astounding.

Oh wow, this is really a deeply thoughtful and amazing track.
I'm very impressed with the work here and recommend it.

i haven't read any of the comments, but i'm sure at least 10 of them mentioned the smashing pumpkins similarity. Nice blend of sounds, I loved the monoglide synths especially, and and the arrangement was really well done. I think turning the rhythm guitars down a tad would have been best, but i'm still enjoying this a lot. Nice work.
