Iv had this song stuck in my head for the last week, and its been bugging me like hell. I dnt have anyone musical nearby to ask, so i wrote it up quickly on Reason and am posting it here to ask... WHAT IS IT!!!?? im gonna go crazy i swear... Its classical, so not from a game or movie, full orchestra, n i have memories of the conducter yelling at us cellos 'MORE SFORZANDO!!!' :P

I think it's from Holst's The Planets: Jupiter - it sounds very much like one of the transitional melodic sections.

Definately Jupiter. It is at either Rehersal VI or Rehersal XVI for those that have a score.

Sorry, but there are no Sforzandos in these sections. ;)

Btw, the beginning of the Star Wars theme was taken from the theme for the old film Captain Kidd. The "ta-ta-tatatataaa-taaa!" All stolen! :)

Not just JW, but a lot of Hollywood composers (one could say too many ;)) love and yes immitate/are inspired by/etc. Holst.

Composers are always borrowing from other composers, even the likes of Holst. :) It's just the evolution of music, Bach was the 'father' of modern harmonisation, which evolved during the later periods and is what you hear today in any song you hear. :) Except perhaps a-tonal and eastern-styled pieces, but even then... more evolution. And what a brilliant evolution it is. :)
