Parasite Eve 'Primal Eyes (Tapeworm)'
Can’t say I’m a fan of this mix, it just doesn’t strike my fancy. The overall tune is good, but I’m not a fan of the “plinking” instrument, it doesn’t seem to fit with the rest of the mix. 2/5

Hey, does anyone have any trouble getting the the download to go past 6-10%? I called my friends and they said they have troubles with it, i just wanted to see if it was us or if there is something wrong with the link. If it is us, any ideas?

That's the one we submitted. If you can get it from here, you may want to rename it to what DJP did for maximum compatibility.

I don't like the drums in this mix. The instrumentals are fine except for that delayed square blip in the start... that sounds so out of the mix.
Hmmm... 3.5/5

As a huge, huge fan of the original Primal Eyes, I was sort of put off by this remix. This isn't to say that any remix fo a song I love is displeasing to me--I like many of the FF remixes which totally take apart songs I like--however, this remix completely ruins the original, in my opinion. However, as a remix in and of itself, it's not bad. 2.5 out of 5... but next time, remix a more remix-friendly song.

As with most people here this isn't much my cup of tea. It's just not fleshy enough. It's more or less all percussion with only a tiny bassline in the back that seems to remain static for the entire breadth of the tune. I can't say I'm a fan of the voices either. Considering how much I adored the original version of this tune I was pretty dissapointed. And contrary to apparently popular belief I think Primal Eyes has the potential to be remixed very well but to make it sound better than the original... would be hard, I agree.
It's not aweful but I gotta say, I dunt like it much.
Still, I gotta commend Compy and Steve. There is ONE Parasite Eve remix here? That BOTHERS me. PE had like, the best soundtrack. <3

"It's not aweful"
Yes it is. I'm glad it's still here, though, because you can see my progress from the crap I started with to the crap I churn out today. :)

Take that trashcan!
Dance has been done. And Shimomura deserves better than this.
1. The guitar programming is cool... the Casio Concertmate shizzy isn't; it's damn annoying. Get rid of it!
2. It's too repetitive. I will probably never listen to it again. No offense.
3. The instruments used do not work together. They all seem to be vying for space.
There are some pretty cool sounds used, but in the end I think it's a bit too repetitive and droning. Some of the midrange synths are incredible, but the high range ones don't match at all.
There's a decent amount of breakdowns and buildups, but there isn't enough melody to carry this to the finish line.

The melody whore in me is saying that I can't really bring myself to like this. It has good stuff going on, some good variation, an overall interesting background. Problem is that it remains background. Not for me.
EDIT: Oh, and tapeworms creep the heck out of me.

"Take that motherfucker!"
Wtf?
This is a kinda odd mix to me - part of it might be not being familiar with the source, but the synth that sounds like a drawn out Flame Mammoth cry combined with that beat really makes for an eerie atmosphere. Production is a downer though :-( . samples could use some upgrading to make it more current, but not bad ideas going on here.

Steve Pordon Review:
Haha, hilarious opening line :). The intro does a great job of building some suspense even though the strings are little painful to me. However, what we hear is a GREAT handling of the kick in comparison to Steve's other work, which might be the mastering that Compyfox did. Even if it is, I hope to hear Steve move in this direction in future mixes. The sound is a much more clear tone and we can really hear it. The guitar (I'm assuming that's what it is) gets REALLY repetitive but it's not a deal breaker. The arrangement is very simple like the other tracks that Steve has worked on. The fadeout actually worked decently well :).
