Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! (http://www.doulifee.com/prc/PrcSong/PRCcommercial.wmv)

PRC202 was another nice PRC. It has 5 songs and 1 bonus mix from Sggod89. Since both Zerothemaster and SubNormal J3 won PRC201 in a tie, the round had two sources. OneUp picked Megaman and defeated all the Starfox mixes. He was allowed to select the source for this round.


OneUp submitted the source for this edition.

I was going to choose a source from a modern indie game with music from a guy I've been chatting with (and I should've tried to get him to join the compo!), but unfortunately that wasn't possible

Instead I choose Level Theme from the great game Tyrian:

If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness.
Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6 MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed (only as Bonus Mixes).
Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link (http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/PRC203) by MONDAY SEPTEMBER 26th at 10:59 am ThaSauce time: check my signature (below) or the ThaSauce page for the exact time left.
You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. You are free to create a second ThaSauce account for that, it's needed to be able to upload a second remix. You can post it in the thread if that doesn't work.
Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted.
Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score.
The winner of PRC202, OneUp, can't take part, but he has a vote that counts twice. He is also allowed to submit a Bonus Mix.

Tyrian!!!! And one of my favourite songs from it, too (can we do Asteroid Dance 2 next? :smile:)

I really, really wish my music computer and my everything else wasn't stuck in the mail... I'll still try it, though!

We'll see what the weekend brings, but I would like to get even a small piece in. I'm thinking a nice, simple fakebit tune. :/ We'll see.

For some reason I'm not able to open the ThaSauce page now. Everytime I open it, it links me to a different site and anti-virus starts running. I hope it's better monday.

If anyone has this problem as well and cannot submit, it's fine to upload the song somewhere else and post a link in this thread.

OO this is so exciting. I love Tyrian, and for that reason alone I am going to enter this comp.

I'm not sure what level the mix will be with 2 days to do it in, but damn, I just wanna have some fun!!!:)!!

Edit: I've read up a few PRC threads and besides the 6mb limit are there any other limits/rules I should know with regard to length/arrangment?

Length etc. doesn't matter. The only thing that is a must is that the source should be in the song and MIDI rips are not allowed.

I was trying to show a friend the page the first day it went up and he got the same, and again today. That kind of scares me (and him)... I'm not sure it's something that'll go away on its own.

Only problem I had was trying to log in. Bottom link 404s and the site was all scrunched up to the left. Took a few minutes of browsing before it sorted itself out into the middle and the link at the top appeared. In fact, the main page of ThaSauce still scrunches up...

I contacted several moderators of ThaSauce, but never got a response. I added a section in the first post a few editions ago about how to log in.

Binweasel did very well, but still gets the last place wooden spoon with 10 points.
