OC ReMix Presents Super Dodge Ball: Around the World!

FAIRFAX, VA--Happy Columbus Day! OverClocked ReMix today released its 28th arrangement album, Super Dodge Ball: Around the World (http://atw.ocremix.org). This album, co-directed by Kyle Crouse (KyleJCrb) and Alan Bish (Murmeli Walan), features a variety of musical styles from a diverse lineup of musicians, paying homage to the classic 8-bit dodgeball game for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

"With 19 arrangements from 25 artists, we pay tribute to Kazuo Sawa's amazing Super Dodge Ball soundtrack with an eclectic mix of ethnic, metal, nerdcore hip-hop, new age, hardcore trance, and orchestral music. I am very proud to have assisted Walan in putting together an album that I feel is very consistent and fun to listen to. I hope everyone enjoys checking out Around the World!," said Kyle.

The album was produced to help promote the music of Super Dodge Ball, was made by fans, for fans, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Technos or Million Co., Ltd.; all original compositions and characters are copyright their respective owners.

Alan Bish added: "The original concept of Around the World was to showcase and tribute the music of Kazuo Sawa by reimagining his Super Dodge Ball soundtrack in an ethnic style. Over seven years after the concept's creation, Around the World has been released! ...This album would have never been completed without the help of co-director KyleJCrb, who stepped in in 2009 and recruited an amazing group of talented musicians from all corners of the Internet. It's my hope that everyone who listens will enjoy Around the World!"

Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge again!

That art looks a little rough there, Dave. Something tells me you need to turn the tolerance down in Photoshop a bit.

The audio sounds great so far, but the artwork is in poor taste.

Edit: Great work on the album, though. No hate :D

Wow, that was quicker than I thought until the first negative comment about that piece of art. I had nothing to do with it, I swear!

Edit: I am, however, happy to see you're looking past it and still enjoying the music! :-)

Guys, I know the picture on OCR frontpage is all kind of awesome but it makes everyone around me suspicious. There was one guy who actually asked if I was watching a hentai or something....

anyway, awesome album overall. Absolutely loving it! Great job everyone :)

This is the greatest thing I have read about the project so far.

Hah, yeaaah, I can't go to the OCR front page in class anymore. I about shit myself when the balls-over-tits girl popped up for the first time. Kinda would have been a bit of a faux pas if anyone had seen that.

Does this make super dodge ball the first game to have 2 OCR albums? Not counting Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Blood on the Asphalt and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix Official Soundtrack.

Find this a fun coincidence as I've been listening to No balls no glory today.

NBNG is not an OC ReMix album.

I wonder if I could get the homepage background without the logo as a full sized wallpaper...?

Haven't really had the time to listen through it yet, but WillRock's bonus track kicks balls.

It's in the torrent.

Or you can just pull it directly from the website if you don't want to go through that, since the logo itself is a separate image: http://atw.ocremix.org/images/body.jpg

1. Great Album.
2. I find the "chicks a dude" twist was very humorous.
3. Its 2011... That picture is extremely conservative for 2011. And I find that picture to be effing awesome.

That is all.

P.S. Is there any usage rights on those pics (the dodge boobs one specifically) because I would like to use the picture on a website (project probably wont launch for 6 months but i like to plan things) and I would like to do it right. It would be used for something that i can link back to and give credit for the original content if thats what someone wants.

And i'm not sure even where to start or who owns the rights to it. Anyone?

I drew it, and I asked Kyle if he cared if it was used by another and he does not. Am curious about the website you want to put it on though. If it's nothing terribly awful and horrible I don't mind, no.

Whose bright idea was it to use that cover art? Whoever it is, he must have been really in need of some poontang when that was created...

It was a drawn by Otaku, who is a female. It was her idea. She sent it to me and I thought it would be hilarious if it went up on the front page of OCR. djp agreed. Now it is there, and it is glorious.

Seriously, it's hardly even sexual. It's just funny.
