Can I turn a Humbucker into a Single Coil?

Then go to a pawn shop and ask for used parts or look for cheap deals on the internet.

No spoonfeeding, use google. I know that there're coils out there for dirt cheap.

Not to sound mean, but from what you said, I take it you consider yourself a guitar technician... but post on OCR's boards to find out if it's possible to turn a humbucker into a coil? o.O;

To be honest I've never heard of anyone who wanted to change their humbucker into coils, but perhaps that's just me. Have you heard of soapbars? P-90s? My friend has em, sounds kinda' like a coil on a Gibson to me, though ofcourse thicker. Why not just buy some Jaguar pickups, like the Kurt Cobain signature guitar has? I bet that one has the sound you are looking for.

You can try series/parallel wiring to cut one of the coils off the humbucker at a certain position on the selector, but for this you need a four conductor pickup, and most stock pickups are not four conductor.
