cool crud. i've been waiting to hear this since i saw the crazy name on the judging list. very out there, very spacy. sorta shnabub-ish, but not too much so.

I love those strings. Cool stuff.

if I were to make a list of arrangements that I would actually consider art, this would be towards the top.

a beautiful composition.

It's about time Wild Arms 2 got some remixing done! And its done very well. It blends together to form something very jazzy and i love it. Thanks for the remix to my favorite RPG series. now if someone could get Wild Arms 3 done...it'd be you.

Why must this be so short? For while it lasts the composition is brilliant. The first listenings were certainly a jolt before settling in the style of the piece, expecting something akin to Shnabubula was close and yet off the mark, ktriton adds a new layer here. The length is the only thing keeping it back from its full potential.

Am I the only one to catch the really strong Bela Fleck & the Flecktones influence? :D

For those who've been whining about not hearing enough DIFFERENT stuff around these parts, well, this one's for you. ktriton keeps making quality, and most importantly, unique remixes. Keep it up bro! :P

Thanks for the comments, peepz! I need to make a mainstream mix one of these days to throw you guys off

Excellent composition! I thought it was a little too random for my tastes but it shows some impressive skill.

Well it's not something I'm going to be able to playback in my head, but I admire the compositional skills in this piece.

I didn't like this at all. I like jazz and all and I'm open to new and crazy forms of music, but I felt this was poorly executed. I mean, the instrumentation could be better, there's not enough velocity dynamic to be interesting and all the notation seems just kinda random. And it's really, really short; we need more! I did not enjoy listening.

The thing is though parts of the genre of jazz is random. People who play saxes and trumpets freestyle their notation to give it feeling and dynamics. It may not sound realistic when it comes to the composition aspects, but it still has something there that touched me.

7/10
Keep it up!

I want to like this ReMix as it was done for a game I really enjoy(ed), but I can't.

It doesn't really fit my taste at all.

Atonal jazz fusion would be the best description I could come up for this one. There's no clear chord progression and no obvious melody so the arrangement feels random and hard to follow (all save for the middle section). I don't think that's bad at all though, and is pretty typical of 20th century orchestral pieces, so I think this arrangement is effective.

At first, I thought the synthed saxes were going to get on my nerves, but as the pad came in at 0:25 I had pretty much forgotten about them. They fell into the back as they should, and the new tones kept my mind off the repeating sax.

There's not too much I feel needs to be said about the rest. It can pretty much stand on its own. It's fresh, and it's interesting.

I will talk briefly about production. This is the first review I'm writing after listening on my new cans (http://www.akg.com/products/powerslave,mynodeid,186,id,250,pid,250,_language,E N.html), and I had absolutely no concerns regarding sound quality. No clipping, no hissing, a well put together mix all the way through.

Meccaneer: It's cool if you didn't like it, but could you maybe explain why you didn't like it so much? Like, for starters, what did you hate about the instrumentation?

Yeah, I am also curious about that...

I want to like this, but I cant. It sounds sloppy. The synth sax sounded odd. Should have been replaced with a different instrument. I do like the piano and parts of the bass. Also there are not enough dynamics. All the instruments remain at the same volume the whole time.

Not for everyone but a welcome addition to the OCR family.

Grows on you.

Very fluid, very spordaic, and very very well executed.

A short passionate burst of musical expression. But, unfortunately, the kind of thing that an un-trained ear would take for granted. The lower sample qualities of some instruments isn't as important because of the speed /dynamics of the instruments.

I won't be forgetting the name ktriton anytime soon.

Wow dude...thanks!

I did one of those quick, minute-long interviews for VGDJ in which I briefly explain the instrumentation and the reverb, so definitely check it out next Monday if you were curious about 'em.

All I can say is that I dig. I love fretless bass. Maybe a better sax sound might've been nice-- like a live sax? Whatever though the intentions are all there. I totally dig.

Good song. I have no specific complaints about this song, but it just isn't really my style. I loved the subtle string work (or maybe it was sax? I'm not good at picking out instruments) in the background, and it is a fun piece, but for some reason I can't really get into it.

Keep up the good work! 6/10

Alright. People need to stop posting 0-size fonts. Why do we even HAVE that option?

Nothing to read here. Move on.

Seriously, stop reading this. Go away.

ohhh..jazz piano. sounds like one of those "late night 3AM jazz mixes" on the radio. a little narration and it could be used in a movie.

This piece needed some time to grow on me, but it did. I like this slightly distorted jazz-style very much. My only complaint would be that it is too short.

Hope to hear more from you.

favorite remix ever...for now. every second of this song is total sonic interest. i especially love the weird key change at the end.

the original is campy as all hell, haha, and the melody was brought out really well in this one (the high notes of the phrases are like not recognizable to me in the original...).

Great, great track. Arguably a bit short. The instrumentation is like a beautiful wash of sound. I love that synth sax arpeggio/composite.. it sounds incredibly good. If you think that it doesn't sound "real", stop listening to it like it should be and listen to it for what it is. If there's an instrument that part emulates, it's a sampler. :) I could well imagine a saxophonist constructing that part live by looping him/herself. Don't think just playing that live straight-ahead would sound nearly as good. The sax leads later on sound good enough for me, although *there* there might be some room for a little improvement.

Very soft, busy, underwater feel in this track. Me likey.

I'm a jazz person, so I enjoyed this a great deal. Great Job, I loved the whole thing. This is of course great praise coming from someone who loves Jazz. As already stated, I felt this ReMix to be too short of life. It's Jazz, if anything it should be a ludicrous amount of time.

geez this is a long song title, and it was *even longer*!? OMGZ~~
especially since the song is less than 3 minutes, the track is almost over by the time you are done saying the title. :<
As for the mix itself, it's pretty synthy-sounding, but it is actually pretty rocking, and doesn't really make an attempt to convince us of its realism. I'd say that's the right call, because on it's own, it's pretty charming, with it's start-and-stop sax rhythms and smooth and slinky bassline. It's lite synth-funk for all. Dig it!

Nice title. I'm not really a fan of distorted jazz, but this was nice and for my tastes, was the perfect length. I gotta say that I enjoy the later part of this song when everything seemed to pick up a bit and the sax kicked in. It's a good ReMix, and I enjoyed listening to it for it's creativeness. I have a feeling that the more I listen to it, the more it'll grow on me. Nice work.
