Anyone else noticing that Snake is pretty much getting the shank here?
Codycrusader made a post that reminded me of a conversation I had with a friend about a few weeks ago. I joked saying that Snake is just a cameo character and will have nothing to do with the Subspace Emissary, but now I am thinking that that might be true.
I'd guess that in classic Nintendo fashion they're just saving more info with him till later, since he's such a big deal. It'd be dumb IMO to have him in there but then not be a part of what seems like their focus this time around.

Snake will probably fit into Subspace Emissary easily. He is, after all, a character that comes from a more-or-less sci-fi setting, and we've got plenty of those in Samus, Fox, and Falcon (who I think is almost certainly returning). He won't be out of place at all.

I'd laugh, but at the same time be crushed, if Snake was just used as an attention whore to get MORE people to buy the game. But they wouldn't need Snake, they could put the game out with only half of the original characters and sell more than Melee.

I still think it's possible that they're not doing updates for some of the secret (i.e. unlockable) characters. That's probably why metaknight and Snake aren't up there yet...

This is just a question that occurred to me, but which franchises in Melee had more than two characters from the series on there? The only ones I can seem to think of right now are their flagships (Mario, Zelda & Pokemon). Do you suppose that they'll be including more characters per series this time around, or just spreading it out thinner so that there's still about the same amount of characters per franchise, except more franchises?
Just a thought, mind you.

Tiny is not a replacement for Dixie - they are separate characters, and will both appear in DK Barrel Blast.
Really? Cool. Did not know that.
And apparently people will take me up on the Forward-B thing. It would work for Running-A too, I just see it as a Forward-B because it's one of his signature moves. He needs all the signature moves he can, as he doesn't have many. The orange bomb would be fun... as long as it can't be used too many times in rapid succession. We'll just see when it comes out, no?

Yea, thats prolly true because we actually know more about them than we think (that made sense to me, don't know about any of you).
Kinda off topic here, but in Mario Strikers on Wii when you play as Peach, when ever she's gets done falling outta the sky, does it sound like she says Princess Bitch, or is it just me?

More like, the boom box! :)!!
Or, going back to DKC 1, he throws his hat on the floor and jumps on it, triggering shock waves that send opponents flying.

So, all this talk of the Subspace Emissary. Am I the only one who's getting flashbacks of Super Mario Bros. 2/USA?
I know this is totally not likely. But. I think it'd be pretty cool if at the ending of the Subspace Emissary adventure mode, we find out that Wart (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wart_%28Nintendo%29#Wart) is behind the Ancient Minister's plots. He's tired of always being overlooked over the past two decades, while Bowser gets all the credit.
Hey, until December, I can dream, right?

Has there ever been a stage where no characters from the game were available to play?Battlefield and Final Destination immediately spring to mind. Unless you count hacking into Master Hand, of course. There's also some characters who had two stages (Ness) and some who technically had none (Fire Emblem?).
I can't imagine who they'd include as a character for Animal Crossing. The case has been made many times over already: every reasonable character from that game has appeared in the Smashville screenshots. Who would we control? Wendell? Assist trophies are even in question under these circumstances.
I like the Yoshi update. Wasn't expecting that.

Of course, that doesn't mean there won't be in Brawl. There were plenty of things in Melee that had no precedent in the original game. That said, I don't think a playable Animal Crossing character is unlikely.

I had the idea of unlocking your own specific Animal Crossing character from your copy of AC:WW by connecting your DS to your Wii via wireless connection. The character will have the appearance and name of your character in Animal Crossing, and could be updated to correspond to changes in your appearance in AC at any time simply by reconnecting the DS to the Wii.
If you do not have a DS or Animal Crossing, the character could be unlocked by playing against someone else's Animal Crossing character online, in which case you will gain access to that character (in terms of appearance and name). Similarly, an AC character could be saved onto the Wii controller or an SD card and transferred between machines.

That would actually kick ass if I could envision the standard Animal Crossing character actually fighting in any way, shape or form.
Oh wait... here it comes. Headbutts and twirly spin attacks for A moves, tools like shovel and slingshot for B moves, fishing rod for grab (catch 'em on a giant fish hook).
Best of all? Final smash: bug net. Like Link's Triforce attack, you ensnare one character so that--get this--a giant fuckin' swarm of bees descends upon them and stings them to hell and back.
Yes!
EDIT: Is it just me or do I start a lot of pages in very long threads?

I was thinking more:
B: Slingshot - A charged ranged attack.
>B: Net - A strong attack. Can reflect (like Ness' bat) if timed correctly.
^B: Fishing Rod - If you strike your opponent, it will grab them and draw them close to you. Also used as a tether recovery.
vB: Shovel - Digs your opponent into the ground, temporarily stunning them.
Final Smash: Golden Weapons - All of his B moves become temporarily faster and MUCH more powerful, both in terms of damage and knockback.
His attack-while-grabbing could be to shake the opponent like a tree.

Nah, I see more as a "grab and throw" move where you grab the adversary, spin around and throw him back.

I always considered him an almost guaranteed AT, along with chain chomp and Pikmin... for some reason I thought if they made a playable AC character they might use Blanca or Kapp'n. I like the idea of Resetti, since he's by far the most violent/menacing character in Animal Crossing, and also... a mole. A mole with mining gear and a crazed expression. The first time you meet him is far more memorable than any other character besides perhaps Nook himself, so I agree that he seems the most likely when it comes to weeding out a playable character.
If they go the route of a customized AC:WW hero, then I would assume there'd be one or two default configurations in place to allow for people who don't own the game. Nintendo will not create a $35 character for Brawl that only some can use... If anything, the custom hero avatar would be more of an easer egg.
And, personally... I'd love for Miis to belong to a totally separate character slot. If not player-controlled, then definitely as NPC enemies in some kind of extra single player mode. Subspace Emissary has enough going on in the way of enemies. After all, who would choose Fighting Wire Frames over Miis? A killjoy, that's who. Random Miis would be immesurably awesome, offering an unprecedented level of incorperation outside of the Wii "OS". At the end of the day, Mii incorperation is what adds all the replayability to Wii Sports & Wario Ware: Smooth Moves. I see it being no different with Brawl!

Kirby: Dedede
Star Fox: Andross (face & hands)

Zelda: Ganon (after a fight with Ganondorf, who will still be playable)
Metal Gear: REX
Star Fox: Andross
Yoshi: Kamek
Pokémon: Pokémon Trainer-type Team Rocket character with Arbok, Muk, and Persian.
Fire Emblem: yawn
F-Zero: Black Shadow
Kid Icarus: Eggplant Wizard
Animal Crossing: Crazy Redd
Wario: Dr. Crygor
ALL OF THESE OPTIONS ARE HIGHLY LIKELY. ALL OF THEM. ESPECIALLY CRAZY REDD AND THE THREE RANDOM POKEMON I CHOSE. AND MOTHER BRAIN OVER RIDLEY. AND EGGPLANT WIZARD OVER MEDUSA.

Dedede would be a good comical character for the Kirby universe, but Dark Matter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Matter_%28Kirby_series%29) seems more suited for the Subspace Emissary plot. I'm sure the Kirby universe is well taken care of considering Sakurai made a few kirby games back in the day.

Sonic: (Since we already know this ass hole is confirmed) The egg man dude
Yoshi: Baby Bowser(?)
F-Zero: Black Shadow, think that's his name

Okay, here is what I say will happen:
First battle, you free one of the princesses.
Second battle, the princess at a castle, fights her foe. She free someone.
Eventually this gets repetitive and then before you face the super mega secret boss (Wart), you have to fight a dark version of the people you did not save.

Subspace Emissary is looking more and more like an RPG in a fighter's clothing, if you ask me. I'm kind of getting the feeling different characters join your "party," depending on the choices you make, and that throughout the game, you can choose (perhaps at the beginning of a level/area) which of these characters to play as. Choices you make throughout the game look like they'll affect the places you go and the characters you encounter.
Ugh... this could also be like Soul Calibur 3's single player mode...

To add on to a previous theory of mine, I think Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo will be working for the SE, either willingly or not. Bowser and Ganondorf could be morphed into Giga and Ganon, respectively. As for Mewtwo... I don't know, maybe he'll have some godlike mega-psychic dark powers or something. I dunno. But I find it highly unlikely that Petey is the only boss from the Mario universe. Come on, it's Petey Pirahna! He's not an archvillain! Also, perhaps different characters will have different bosses, even if they're from the same universe. Mario fights Petey and Luigi fights King Boo, each one from their respective "E. Gadd Backpack games," but both still fight Giga Bowser in the end. (What if Kamek summons Giga Baby Bowser?! Haha.)
The theory of Wart is amusing, and actually not too ludicrous to be true... though I immediately thought of Scooby-Doo: the Movie 2 when Scrappy Doo turns out to be the ultimate villain, more as a gag than anything...
Why are you all so hung up on the idea of an Animal Crossing character? Just because there's an AC stage? That doesn't automatically mean that there's a character, too. I mean, how the heck is an AC char supposed to fight? It's just not logical.

In the original and Melee, every game that had a stage also had a playable character. And an Animal Crossing character is no more illogical than, say, Mr. Game and Watch. A moveset is pretty easy to create, actually. I'm not saying that an AC character is definitely in, but it doesn't seem as unlikely as you're making it out to be.
Also, way to completely ignore the most obvious sarcasm I've ever seen in my life in my earlier post.

Kraid did it much better.
Hell, Kraid would make for one fine boss, but I'm guessing they'll go for either Ridley or SA-X (which would be a suited Samus you have to fight as ZS-Samus.)

Okay, here is what I say will happen:
First battle, you free one of the princesses.
Second battle, the princess at a castle, fights her foe. She free someone.
Eventually this gets repetitive and then before you face the super mega secret boss (Wart), you have to fight a dark version of the people you did not save.
My take:
Branching Pathways.
Kirby fights Petey, saves a princess.
If you save Peach, you play as Link in level 2 to go save Zelda.
Save Zelda, Mario goes to save Peach. (maybe even Bowser, since Mario may be MIA*)

I don't think it was that obvious of sarcasm. Seeing as I don't know who is who on this board, for all I knew you were a stupid n00b saying stupid things. I apologize for assuming the worst. I plead mercy on the grounds of the internet's inability to convey sarcasm. If it helps, I'm even bad at picking up on sarcasm in spoken conversation, so I'm not surprised that I missed it. (I should have known that the Arbok/Persian/etc was a joke...)
I'm just saying that logically speaking, a character from a game that involves building a world through social interaction and item-hunting seems ridiculous. What's next? A playable Sim (The Sims) or Nintendog? No, wait, those games have Assist Trophies. How about the protagonist of Harvest Moon instead? (To any lunkheads like me, the last four sentences were dripping with sarcasm.) While the idea of Miis replacing Fighting Wireframes is my favorite of the Brawl theories I've heard, using Miis or such "life simulation" games as playable fighters is ludicrous and a waste of a character slot. Nintendo, if you have to stretch that far to stick new characters in your game, you probably have enough already. That genre makes no sense whatsoever.
......Of course, I expect the argument that Captain Falcon from FZero was from a genre that didn't establish him as a physical person at all. My only rebuttal to that is that at least Cap is a muscle-bound spaceship pilot that works as a galactic bounty hunter. The AC guys are chibi anthropomorphic animal people that buy wallpaper and dig for vegetables. What're they gonna do to me, use their terrifying Rearrange Furniture attack? At least G&W had a wacky, variety-filled moveset that established him as a half-joke, half-homage character. He was put in the game for the fun of it, and also as a tribute to the father of Game Boys. He has a legacy to explain his nonsensical appearance. AC does not.

Never played AC before, but I don't really understand your opposition if they were to have an AC character included. I gotta say I don't really agree with your set of arguments. You don't think the character model/art style fits, but the game is already kind of a mish-mash of art direction that I don't think it'd matter. The ideas people posted before regarding potential movesets for the character seem valid. Finally, I really don't see any link you could connect between a potential AC character and Mr. Game and Watch, as I don't think they'd neccesarily fill the same kind of role. I think the character would fit just as well as any character they would decide to put into the game and it wouldn't somehow detract from the fun; have some faith in the dev team.

Faith that they won't include an AC character?? Kidding, kidding...
As for the spoilers: did you really have to post the NAMES of the games? You could have easily avoided posting the names, and anyone who's played one or both of those games would have understood your statement perfectly, and anyone who hasn't wouldn't know which games you're talking about.
Observe:
Given that both Peach and Zelda both become possessed and serve as final bosses in recent games (Look, no spoilers!) - I say it's not unlikely that the princess you don't save from Petey, you'll be fighting later on.
Although, it might still be a spoiler for someone who's beaten every recent Zelda game but TP. And if someone's beaten every recent Zelda game other than Twilight Princess, you can bet your ass they've beaten Twilight Princess.
Sorry if I'm sounding harsh or mean, but spoilers are my sworn enemy. I make sure to be careful all the time - especially when the thread isn't about those games.
To Ab56 v2 aka Ash: believe it or not, that is a minor spoiler, so don't worry about it =)
Aesthetically, the main Animal Crossing character isn't all that significantly different from, say, Ness.
In Earthbound, Ness uses incredible psi powers and various toys to [SPOILER!!] defeat powerful and humourous enemies from space [/END SPOILER], but what do Animal Crossing characters do? Rearrange Furniture attack?
But then again, if Peach can fight with vegetables and frying pans, why not an AC character? Heck, Mario and Luigi are freaking plumbers, and Smash Bros. is practically named after them.

Mario: Petey (duh)
Zelda: Ganon
Samus: Dark Samus
Star Fox: Star Wolf
Pokemon: Mewtwo
Fire Emblem: Never played it, so I'm just gonna say that Knight dude
Metal Gear: Ocelot
Sonic: (Since we already know this ass hole is confirmed) The egg man dude
Yoshi: Baby Bowser(?)
F-Zero: Black Shadow, think that's his name
Kirby: Dyna Blade
Ness: Hordes of Mr. Saturn, never played that game either
An alternative for a Star Fox boss can be Star Fox: Adventures, yes? Oh wait, that made me think General Scales would be cool.
I haven't heard that he was confirmed, could you or anyone please confirm this?

Would you say the same of Solid Snake? He's not one of "Nintendo's Biggest Stars" either. Although I'll give you that he started out on Nintendo and Sonic didn't.
I think Smash Bros. is more of a fan service than anything else, honestly. And since Sonic's inclusion would please many, many fans, it seems there's a fairly good chance he'll get in. I really won't care either way since I'll be playing Samus regardless.

I just don't get the arguments that say "X character has no attacks thus its relatively impossible for them to be in Smash?! OMGZZ!!" I mean half of all the attacks in Smash Brothers are made up FOR Smash Bros, maybe even 75%.
Heck, Fox was only in an Arwing (with the exception of the StarFox 64 crappy 3rd person character multiplayer mode). He couldn't kick, he couldn't flip, he couldn't reflect things. He couldn't say "COME ON!" Nor could he do a little dash attack. NOR was it canon that he was speedy.
Same goes for Captain Falcon. Falcon Punch is like the most awesome move ever, but it never originated from the F-Zero series.
All of the above personalities were fleshed out by the Smash Bros series, and there are plenty more. Almost all of them have been with a few exceptions being Link, Pikachu, and Mario since they all follow their original molds.
They could quite literally take an Animal Crossing character and make them do anything. Totakeke could attack with a guitar. An AC character (if one in fact is playable) could do anything.
It's still up in the air if a character will show up, though.
I seriously wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing levels in Brawl from a variety of games whose characters aren't represented on the playable characters list.

I highly recommend reading through at least the last 15 pages of this thread so you can get a grasp of how it has been flowing before posting again in it. It isn't a suggestion to keep you out, but rather so that you can get some feel on how the flow is so you don't get jumped on for making a similar post later on.

Except that we already know that he's featured in the background of a stage.
Which is why I don't think he'll be a playavble character.
Just because a character is the background doesn't mean you can't play as him/her. I'm sure there is a way to make it so if you chose, say Buzz from Animal Crossing, the game will realize he's being played so the game won't put him in the background, because if a damn robot can build a car or a phone can transer voicemail into a written text, I know it can realize that the character is being played

I knew that would be brought up, and you already said my answer(about him [Solid Snake] being with Nintendo first) :P
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Gear
I don't want to sound pretentious, but actually Snake didn't start out on Nintendo systems. His first appearance was actually on a separate console all together and Metal Gear on the NES was a rehashing of it. Though the NES game is what made him mainstream, he didn't start on a Nintendo system. Not to speculate, but logically, Sonic could make the same leap.
Just wanted to put that out there.

Hmmm, that could mean wavedashing is gone, since I don't recall the Havok engine having problems with frictionless surfaces.
EDIT: Maybe not. It may just use Havok FX or Havok Animation and not the actual physics engine. The list on that website says that the titles use some of the Havok products, not all of them.

Yes, because Totakeke can summon three animals that change when you press down-B!
Oh wait, no...
And the fact that Sakurai explicitly stated that Totakeke will appear at 8 o'clock on Saturdays means to me that he WON'T be a playable character.
But then again, this is my opinion. I love AC, and I expect an AC character to show up (probably a generic man/woman character, with shovel/axe/fishing rod/net attacks), just not Totakeke. After all, if K.K. Slider was a character, what attacks would he have?

As far as Animal Crossing goes, making movesets or attacks is honestly not a problem for Nintendo. Off the top of my head, I can name three of Mr. Game & Watch's attacks that were really, really stretching it... Perhaps the snapping turtle? Or the bug spray? Or the miraculous appearance of a diver's helmet?
On that note, they really have a multitude of characters to choose from, as all of them are, technically, possible. I mean, they actually had an attack where you could throw turnips in Melee. Sow Joan, anyone? Heck, Katrina could even use dark magic and I don't think anyone would have a problem with it. The only person I would think might be defenseless would be Lyle, the insurance salesman. Though he might be able to use Powers of Annoyance, or something.
I'm hoping for Pete, Mr. Resetti, Tortimer (Super Tortimer!), Sable, or - my personal favorite - Blathers. That is, if there's going to be a character from Animal Crossing at all.
That being said, I must now write the obligatory sarcastic desperate speculation.

DKC was just short that's all. For what it was, it was good. Though it was incredibly overhyped due to its graphics in its day. But it was way better than any Mario games after Mario 64 IMO. Even DKC3 had its highpoints even if it wasn't as good as DKC2. Gameplay aside, the music was just amazing top to bottom for the trilogy.
Also, Miyamoto supposedly bashing the franchise is the funniest thing I've heard about it. Surely the fanatics will latch onto that as a hedge against the games. It was a nice departure and effort by Rare. I don't see what you can take away from that.
"Miyamoto later apologized, saying he had been too harsh due to Nintendo's pressuring him at the time to make Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island more like Donkey Kong Country"
Which is ironic since New Super Mario Bros basically went that route in the end to horrible effect.

It will be very odd to play on that stage if the stage music isn't a remix of either "Kirby arrives on the scene" or "Taking over the halberd"
I hope it's one of those and not the newer song they used in Squeak Squad.
So I noticed something in the "Characters" page of the Dojo:
http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/5710/cmcapture1vs1.png
http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/6571/cmcapture2nc1.png
Now all of this is just speculation, but ASSUMING that the starting line up for newcomers and vets are going to be an even 8 vs 12 respectively, to make the characters page even, then there are only two newcomers and one more vet to reveal. If that WERE the case, Captain Falcon is the only vet that needs to be revealed. It would also support the theory that Lucas is replacing Ness as a newcomer.
Which would leave just one more newcomer to reveal for the starting line up. Either someone new or Metaknight, if he ends up not being unlockable. Also, it means that Luigi and Jigglypuff are still secret characters, like in the last two games. Along with any other secret characters from Melee.
I don't know if I'm the first to post this or not, but I can see this happening. Then again, I don't know if Sakurai would actually plan out the roster to accommodate an evenly organized characters page of the website.

Solid Snake has been announced as a character since pretty much its conformation. And truthfully, I expect to see far more characters in Brawl than what we're being given on the website. That would imply that the game being developed was actually Jungle Planet Star Fighters but that at the last minute, since the company realized it would be a massive failure, so they decided to tack on a popular name on it.
Hmmm, I wonder if other companies do that:
If Rareware ran McDonald's

Suit 4: People are kinda hating carbs, remove the bread.
Suit 5: One of these markets is big on hipanic foods, how about we make it into a Fajita?
Suit 6: Hmmm, a bacon and cheese fajita, great idea, except it doesn't seem healthy... How about we replace the cheese with salad?
Suit 7: And the bacon with chicken, people like chicken, they think it's healthy even when deep fried.
Head Suit: Ok, call marketing and have them make an ad with dancing chickens.
Suit 1: What if the ad involved a pig for some comedic reason?
...
Yeah, sounds about right.

Well, so much for Andross as a boss. Oh well, Wolf is still a possibility. Or Pigma in a giant robot. ......Oh wait, Robotnik and Dr. Wily would sue his ass.
Maybe all three of the current members of Star Wolf take on Fox in a 1-vs-3 melee!!
...right, and then the dude from Zombies Ate My Neighbors shows up as a playable, I find a million dollars in a street gutter, and it starts raining chocolate syrup.
...Actually, Zeke from ZAMN with all of his wacky weapons would be a hilarious character.
Aaaaanyway, I personally loved the voice-acting in Star Fox 64. It was so cheesy that it was great. "Only I have the brains to rule Lylat" is an absolute paragon of groan-worthy archvillain banter. If you wish to contend this assertion, please do it, as I welcome hearing other cheesy villainous one-liners.

We don't even know that there will be a boss from each game. At this point, it looks like Kirby will be fighting Petey anyway, not Mario.

Not really.
Nintendo, like Capcom, would have eventually came up with the triple cheeseburger, followed by the double double cheese burger with extra bacon.

Funny as it sounds, I prefer old Andross anyways. I don't understand how anyone would listen to a giant monkey face free floating in space. Andross in Star Fox 64 is quite honestly freaky. I would have thrown up in that Arwing when I got to the brain and floating eyes. I mean, come on. Didn't anyone else have a problem with that?

Not really, I thought it was pretty interesting really, and they probably intended something similar in the snes version if you look at how you can make his face fall off, and then shoot up that box with his face all over it. I guess box with monkey face still isn't quite the same as ZOMG BRAIN AND EYEBALLS!
I enjoyed the pun that went with it too...

I was thinking of the whole thing from a realistic point of view (Though I really shouldn't. I mean, how realistic are space animals anyways?). I would be completely tripped out if I was in Fox's position taking on Andross... I mean... a gianty gooey floaty brain thing that's a lot bigger than you. That's just gross.

A few months ago I was thinking a strange thing:
would be funny if after that you eat a great quantity of food, the character become fat, like on Metal Slug...
Every type of food can have a value of fat-ness (I don't know the correct word, sorry) and vitality...
It's a mad idea, I know...

Goddammit. Tarma for Brawl 2008. (Yes, yes, I'm passing Marco over for Tarma. No comment.) I want at least one other third-party character other than Snake - and not Sonic.
But neat idea - slower moves, lower jumps, but increased power/damage and less knockback. Bumping up your character a weight class, as it is. Similar to the metal power-up, but more awesome.

Can someone tell us non-pokemon players what "Rock Smash" does? Does it make the rock go flying at opponents? Pieces of rock flying at opponents? Or is the opponent supposed to be between the rock and Charizard's head?
[fake edit]
A google search reveals that a rock gets smashed into peices on the opposing pokemon... no kidding. Bah, I don't even care, I'll see it when it comes out =p

Its a youtube meme coming from a DBZ video edit. While the video was not that enjoyable IMHO, the meme is one of the funny things on the internet, since it is rarely applicable, it remains minty fresh.

First, each character has 4 special moves, not 3. Second, they've been doing that with every character.
EDIT: Hurr, right. He already announced the down-B. Regardless, my second point still stands.

Link had all four specials PLUS his throw shown.
Anyway, I'm guessing Ivysaur will get Razor Leaf as his remaining special, Squirtle's be definately be Water Gun, and Charizard's will be something lame.
Rock Smash, geez. Why couldn't it have been something like Dragon Claw or Flare Blitz?

...part of me is saying, "It's beta, they'll change it, sure they will, there's no way they would go with something that stupid..."
At least Squirtle's water effects look freaking awesome... and I am not surprised that Ivysaur has no third jump. At least, I bet he doesn't,

I wonder what Charizard's Up+B will be -- Fly, perhaps? Is there a Fire-related Pokemon move that will send him upwards? I haven't seriously played a Pokemon game since R/B.
Edit: Read the last pages -- Seismic Toss would indeed be a good substitute.

Tether recoveries seem to be taking the place of third jumps for some characters (as already seen with ZSS).

My guess is some kind of fly move. It'd be cool if he could utilize his wings some how though. If it does indeed utilize his wings (which it should) I hope it does different things when you're standing and when you're airborne... kind of how Link has two separate version of the UP+B special, one for the ground and one for air recovery. ^_^
Neato though. You know as much as I like Squirtle and Charizard, Ivysaur seems to me the most interesting... and I didn't ever really like bulbasaur or any of its evolutions really. But still, in Brawl that Pokemon seems to have the most interesting move set so far imo.

a couple things:
1: prima says he is releasing his brawl strategy guide a whole month before the game comes out, and already gave the exact page count of the guide. http://www.primagames.com/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=9780761556442
interesting
2: in the "four special move types update" for side special moves it says "These are bold attacks that launch in the direction you tilt the stick." this is pretty much how it went in ssb/m, but there were a few exceptions, like mario's cape. well, i guess you might be able to say caping peoples' recoveries/attacks is bold, but retreating while caping someone's projectiles isn't. i dunno, though. kirby's forward B doesn't do anything launchy, i guess you could say it is bold because it takes so long to come out, but i dont think it matches the description they've set in stone for forward B moves. anyway, my point is that they havn't shown mario or kirby's forward B moves yet, so maybe they're changing them to better fit the description.

Sakurai is releasing a lot of information lately. Good luck with the 60-some updates he has left to go without completely giving away everything.
EDIT: Though, if the strategy guide is coming out that early, I guess it doesn't matter.

Really now, as soon as the game comes out, or maybe a couple days later, everyone will know everything about the game anyway. I guarantee you that you will get all the secret characters spoiled before you unlock them, so is it that big of a deal about these updates?
How many of you were completely surprised about what you found out in Melee when it first came out?
