Mega Man 3 'ProtoVaffe'
Awesome little wind and piano piece here by Mustin with and excellent drum beat. I have always loved that violin sound that really makes me want to dance. The little square tune intro is very cool as well. Great work Mustin, keep this coming.

This is a wonderfully put together piece, but it always reminds me of an extremely funny website that got shut down, so it always makes me feel kind of sad when I listen to it... Don't get me wrong, though, I love this Re-mix! Keep 'em comeing!

This was the first taste of OCReMix I'd ever had, and boy was I impressed. Great tune, better remix... certainly a job [extremely] well done.
On a side-note, a friend of mine just put some 'woofers in his car. It sounds unbelievable. Great, great bass tune, without going overboard... unless you want it to... *cranks up the sub volume*
Superdy-duper job.

I was hesitant to download this mix at first, because I'm a big fan of Blues and ecspecially his theme song. After listening to it I must say I'm quite impressed. This mix is beautifully done, and all around well arranged. I'm glad that I can say this mix did the original justice. Great job Mustin.

Nice stuff. This wasn't originally really one of my favorite MegaMan songs, largely because I found Proto to not exactly be my favorite character, and the intro to the song got annoying after a while (which still makes it better than plenty of other games' songs) but the always-great Mustin does a nice job with it. I like the main piano parts at :40 and 2:05 the most. The tribute to another of the best of this site was awesome, too.

Okay, lets see here...protoman jingel, classic but sounds like a MIDI...what the crap? What happened now?
Hey, not bad flutes, little sudden walkover, and...OH, PIANO! Beautiful. Hey, I remember this song. very nice work, Mustindude. :)!!

Good approach to the opening; nothing like the classic proto man whistle. Then you use flutes, which are very well done...the techno beats underlying the piano i could have done without...but its still a nice beat, definately one worth checking out.

Loved the intro. The violins got kind of redundent, but as soon as i thought that they disappeared and the piano solo came around overall pretty good. U can't mess up the proto man whistle song

This sounded like it could easily be a background to a rap or something...
The other thing is that the style seems a lot like the late works of one J-pop artist Masato Nakamura, composer for group Dreams Come True, also composer for Sonic 1 and 2 music.
In particular, listen to the DCT album Monkey Girl Oddissey.
Great work.
Chill yet groovin, this is a good mix, that even though some of the details I disagree with, I very good as a whole. The strong points are the powerful yet subdued groove, and the backing strings and harp. The lead flute is pretty good as well, though a touch of delay would sweeten it a bit I think.
The piano is pretty mechanical, especially compared to the fluid harp runs, and is especially exposed during the arpeggios, but who am I to let a little bit of mechanical sequencing get in the way of enjoying a mix?
One last nitpick is the intro chiptune could have benefitted from a little processing to round the edges off, so to speak, but I can appreciate the desire to keep it real.
Despite a few issues with details on the micro level, this is a really good mix by a very talented remixer and is definitely recommended.

The intro grates on my nerves every time I listen to it. I feel like I can't blame anyone, either, it's frustrating.
Anyways, this is a really good tribute mix. Great style adaption on Mustin's part to really fit McVaffe's style. My favorite part is the piano break at 1:40. Transition is perfect, and the arpeggiated background fits just right. Also, the bass is rockin'
Sounds are old nowadays, but still a good fun listen.

This is an example of a mix that just didn't age well. The samples mainly demonstrate that, but there are other issues with this, such as the strings in the beginning - they sound unnatural because of the sharp crescendo with each play, and really kill that section. Throughout the mix, the strings are just not used well at all. It also gets fairly repetitive fast with the lack of development too...I wasn't a big fan of this mix because of all of these basic problems back then, and still not now.
Thankfully, Mustin has gotten a lot better though, so this song is just one that marks the progress of the journey of his musical maturity for me, nothing more.

I'd have to agree with Bahamut on a technical level. Yet, I can still throw this on, bob my head, and enjoy Proto's theme. For an older song, I think that's quite enough.
