And I'd be hooking it up to a iBook. I was wondering what are the pros and cons of USB vs. Firewire, and what is a good all around one that isn't anymore than $400(But still has all the connections). I don't really know to much bout these, so any info is welcome. Thanks in advance.

I would stick with firewire. Besides it can only write the data as fast as your hard drive can receive it.

That M-Audio firewire looks nice, but if you want to save $160, consider going usb with the Edirol UA25:

I have a UA25 for my laptop (Dell Inspiron), and does everything I could possible need. Firewire is definitely better if you can afford it, but usb hasn't caused any problems for me so far.
