Super Metroid - Tourian 2 - WIP

I've been working on this remix a little while now, and something about it just, isn't, satisfying. I like what I have so far, but I just can't help but feel something is missing. Is it lacking originality? Is the bass too plain? Should I add an instrument? Better drums perhaps? I really can't put my finger on it. So really I'm just wondering what you guys think of it, and if you think something is missing. So help on that and some criticism would be nice. :)

Very ambient; this doesn't really have a melody save for the places where the Tourian theme comes in.

Also, please fix the drums. They are waaaaaaay to heavy/loud.

I changed the drums along with some other things. I also added a harp. Speaking of which, should I keep the harp? And are the drums any better?

Better, but the bass is still too heavy.

I also think that it takes a little too long until the song really starts. It less than 3 minutes long, but almost the whole first half feels like an introduction.

wow, I'm really digging this, mainly because of its ambience...this makes it really reminiscent of the original SM soundtrack. As stated by Martin, the bass is too loud, but not too much. I'm not feeling that the intro is too long though -- of course, being a trance fan, I'm used to it :p .

Hey, thanks for the comment. I actually sort of forgot about this when I started working on other things, I guess it just slipped my mind. But hey, since you like it, what else (besides lowering the intesity on the bass) do you think I could do to make it any better?

Don't you dare giving up on this. The more Super Metroid remixes I can get my hands on, the better. And yours is quite promising.

I added a part near the end which in turn made the song longer. I like it but what do you guys think? Oh, I also changed the bass sample, it's a little less intense.

Yes, this doesn't make my subwoofer go crazy anymore. Better.

I guess the sample in the very beginning is suppoesed to be wind? If so, it sounds a little mechanical.

Now you just need a melody to go with it.
