OMG
I wish there were an intro-less version. My only gripe.
Excellent interpretation of the theme, and great job on the live instruments! Definitive OC remix indeed....

The intro is great for the first time you listen to it! However, when you just want to hear that funky latin beat some more, you really want a version that skips the whole thing and gets right down to it. That's definatly my only request. This track is GREAT.

yeah, the intro wasn't really my style, but I LOVE the salsa-type mix. Great job! ;)

The intro to this song is perfect, I really want to know who was speaking all of that spanish, whoever it was they sounded like a native speaker. The salsa song that follows is great, a must get for people only downloading and keeping select tracks from this site.

If I'm not mistaken (and authoritative corrections are allways welcome)Mustin did the Spanish. Not sure who did the man with the raspy voice, but the guy with the radio was definatly nyKad (head on over to vgmix.com (http://www.vgmix.com) if you want to find him.) And of course Dale North, Nate Cloud, and Mustin all had a hand in making the beautiful music.
I remember when this one came out, it was one of the more popular releases. Every once in a while there is a song on OC ReMix that everyone listens to and then just can't believe what they heard. Makes for an interesting day in the #OCReMix whenever that happens.

I'm half mexican.
Also, all of the voices are me, except for some shouts (everyone) and nyKad, who is the guy playing with the radio.

Yeah, an introless version would make this piece flawless. It was a little entertaining to hear the first time, but after that, when you just want to listen to the music, it's irritating. This goes for a lot of songs, too. Same with sound samples in songs too. Unless they are used very sparingly, they just annoy me, and make playing the songs around non-VGM fans sort of embarassing.

C'mon guys! You can always skip the intro by scrolling the control bar in Winamp! Or even edit the MP3.
The most important is that this remix is awesome! It puts most other remixes under the table. I always loved MM3 songs, and these guys took one of the least inspired tunes of the game and made such a lovely piece of music.

What can I say? I love it all! The intro may have been a little long, but it still kicks major butt! A lot of hard work was put into a track befitting the suggested "8th" robot.

Brilliant! First time I have heard a Salsa flavored Remix. The "Music of my Groin" inside joke is classic!
i think it would be cool to be in a party with guys like the ones that sound in the intro :D
Im mexican so i reallhy liked the words in spanish and its really a very cool song to hear.

Yeah...I really can't say anything that hasn't been said before, but I too will show my appreciation of the easily lasered pointy one's theme.
I actually like the intro, it sort of adds to the spirit of the mix, and gives it a nice buildup that other mixes sorely lack. Sort of like an intro at a concert, where rather than the band just playing, there's the opening band to get you in the mood, and then the announcer guy tells you to put your hands together for THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME, whoever that may be that night.
One problem. The trumpeting of the original MegaMan stage select theme. MegaMan 3 was the only one that had the alternate stage select theme. Although I didn't really notice it until like the sixth time playing it. Okay, forget what I said.
I love the way it takes a song I previously hated and makes it sound good.
And I also love the reference to McVaffe's Gemini Salsa (though people tell me it's not actually "Salsa"). In any case, this fits right in with McVaffe's equally flawless mix (though I have to admit that I like McVaffe's a little better since I prefer Gemini Man over Needle Man).

I love this song, the calaboration, the intro...ALL OF IT! *remembering when mother taught her how to dance to Salsa...* You guys, I LOVE YOU! :D
Yes, I too love the intro. The "you sure you want me to turn it on?" cracks me up every time. Whoever wrote that script deserves an emmy :)

I love this song, the whole thing just sounds right. When I listened to it the first time I was hoping for an outtro at the end. Aw well, the intro... hillarious, and the song clips fit in real well. Great work! Listen to it all the time... still.

Im new to shis site and this is one of the first tunes i listened to, and i really like this stuff.
The song is excellent and what comes for the intro, i love it.
What is the song in the intro at 0,31 , it sounds like the best megaman tune ever. Is there a remix of this song out there? I have to find it. I love the megaman series, megaman, mario, zelda and secret of mana have the greatest songs ever.
sorry, got a little of topic

That would be the Intro Music to Mega Man 3, and yes, it is the best Mega Man tune ever.
The actual version that you hear in Needles isn't even the original, but a ReMix of it. And not only is it a ReMix of it, but it's a ReMix of it on this site (a cameo so to speak). It's called Blue Bomber Forever (http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00071), and it's also by Mustin, who had a part in this.

Mustin has become one of my favorite mixers simply because of...well, just listen to the song. It's so different and the quality is just outrageous. I really like Needle Man's theme, so this is one of the first remixes I downloaded. Boy, what a great mix.

Really great mix here, especially the sound quality, Iv'e heard very few songs on OCR that can match it's quality of sound. I like the intro I agree that it adds flavor to the song, my question is can anyone (maybe mustin himself) transelate some or all of what the guy on the radio is saying in Spanish? Just curious that's all. Keep up the good work.

Nothing more can be said about this mix besides "brilliant".
Spanish:
"Okay, it's MMXX Latino Radio, and here we are once again with Mustin's 'Proto Man Blues'. And just because I like it so much, let's hear another cut, a collaboration! The ears of nyKad, Dale North, Nate Cloud and Mustin speak--Needles!"
I really don't get the last part, with "hablan las orejas". Is it a colloquialism? Not even my HS spanish teacher know what it meant, oither than "the ears of (person) speak."

I'll probably never post again, but, since I'm bilingual, I'd like to translate what is said at the beginning of the track:
"Okay! MMXX Latin Radio, and that was 'Proto Man Blues'. And now, just because I like it so much, let's hear another cut; a collaboration! Open your ears for nyKad, Dale North, Nate Cloud, and Mustin! Needles!"
Just wanted to clear that up... :o
P.S.- It says "abran las orejas."

I always liked the original, and this ReMix is a interesting view on it.

Haha, that intro is great, funny stuff and more good old MM3 samples. Nice original take on the Needleman theme, very imaginative. It completely stays with the Spanish theme the whole way through, nice array of instruments included too, great work!
This is the only mix of its kind, to take Mexican music and also have some conversing in the beginning (plus the reference to Music of My Groin). I enjoyed this mix because it is funny as well as good.[/url]

Perfectly done Latin feel, /beautiful/ solos, very amusing Music of My Groin reference. Live music is my favorite stuff on the site and you won me over with this one, gentlemen. Although no one could reasonably fault the playing or writing, I would have like to hear a little more robust sound on the secondary instruments, to match the vibrancy of the saxes. Other than that, fabulous work!

i really like the music! it's quite wonderful, all 3 odd minutes of it, but those first 40 some seconds, they're slightly annoying. anyway to get a version where it starts off with the spanish anouncer talking?

Not too bad! It has a nice vibe to it, and a cool swing. It makes me feel like drinking tequila...
I think the intro is cool the first couple of times. Afterwards, it gets a little annoying, and I found myself thinking "Enough with the appetizers, let's get to the meat!" Still, a good mix, and definately worth my time to listen to.

Yeah, man. This is awesome. The latin feel was well composed and well maintained. The 'music of my groin' reference is classic. And I dig the intro. It think remixes needn't be confined to just music, but also to place-setting. I'm very impressed by this piece. I would have added more crowd/partying noises throughout. That's about it.
Why does MegaMan go so well with latin music?

Listen to the Spanish station? That is so lame.
...until I heard this. As for many, Iīm more of a music person so the conversation in the beginning is in my opinion kind of unnecessary. But itīs a little funny, specially the thing i quoted. And for the others, the remix starts for real ar 1:06, just so you know.
I thought it was excellent. When all the voices has disappeared, all is left but a great saxophone with a full mexican band. Very nice indeed. I donīt know if theyīre samples or if you guys played them yourself, but they sound so real! It has to be for real, or else give me the name of your samples. Except for the sax, there was an excellent piano that made its quick and passionate keyplay in the back. If this aint salsa, then nothing is.
Maybe i should tune in Spanish radio more often. Gracias dudes!

This remix is clearly one of the best songs there is. Really love the beginning of the track when they are checking all the radiostations. really really well done guys. 5/5
The opening entertains me every time. And the OC references they make are very well done. I also like the pidgeon spanish, or at least that's what it sounds like. And then we hit the mix and I just can't stand it...
... naw, just kidding. The mix is great, with great flow, powerful sax, and good feel. An excellent mix, one of the OC classics.

loved that intro and all the spanish references. This mix kicks serious ass 360 degrees all the way around. Can't say much more just listen to it and you'll be amazed. Oh yeah FYI bitchin live performances.

It was seriously an OK track. I thought the intro with the guys searching for a radio station was actually quite ANNOYING. It takes away from the piece. I thought it was actually quite innovative to use a different beat and give the melody to a sax.
One thing I found kinda tacky was the stopping of the instruments during that middle bridge part. Like "who-ee! this is a wannabe latin track! ole!" Seriously kinda hammy.
An alright track but honestly left much to be desired.

the opening really reminds me of Queens of the Stone Age's album "Songs for the Deaf" especially how it switches to a Spanish station. This mix itself is pretty energetic and catchy but it's really the "Music of My Groin" reference that sold me. I burst at the seams with laughter from that unexpected reference.

Well here's a classic I forgot to comment on. The intro is a really nice touch, and the continued latin theme throughout is just as good. I think the horns carry it well, with the piano making up the memorable background.
Definitely one of my favorite Mega Man mixes, and there are a lot of those!
BAHAHA, oh wow. The intro is like a giant inside joke and is an inspiration of pure genius. It really situates this mix in an amazing context. I also like how the Latin flair is extended into the actual arrangement part too. Also the sax work here is amazing. This is so worth everyone's time and effort to download and listen to.
Awesome intro - this is exceptionally classy. XD
1:49 is incredible, and easily the best hook of an already solid song. This whole track sounds like it was incredibly fun to make, and the enthusiasm is infectious. The sax solo afterwards was excellent, and really, high quality tracks with a lot of personality like this one is the kind of thing that made me think that it'd be fun to remix myself.
Total classic. <3
