My review of the Metroid Prime 3 Reviews
Contradiction 10/10 - Wow. They gave Twilight Princess a higher score, a solid Zelda adventure, but not built ground-up for the Wii . Wow, most mentioned how it has the best controls for a console shooter ever, and it gets a lower score than say, other FPS's at the time.
Criticism on lack of innovation -7/10. It's a sequel, yet it's not completely different, so we can't give it that coveted high score, can we?
General bias - 8/10. Let's see what Halo 3 and Resident Evil 5 get, why don't we.
Console comparisons - 5/10 Mentions how the controls can't be done with certain consoles and how certain graphics can't be done with certain consoles.
Flat out bullcrap - 10/10 Score is lowered for load times (You don't even have to deal with a loading screen and the loading times are still way short compared to many other games) You may have to wait for some doors for 5 seconds. Gasp!
Total score: 6.5 / 10 - Mediocre. Not exactly horrible, but they should have worked out issues like bias and general contradictory bullshit before releasing these reviews. If they would have done that, then these reviews could have gotten a much better score. After all, lots of useful information was there, it's just the bullshit that gets in the way.

oh and dont forget ZOMG PRIEM 3 IS NOT BIOSHOCK LOL.
lol @ 1Up (who, I'm now suprised to say, didn't give Prime 3 the lowest score).
Anyway, I can't say whether the game deserves better or worse than it's gotten from critics yet since I am going to pick up the game in 2 hrs. I'd imagine, though, that this should get a rating as high or higher than Twilight Princess, given everything I've heard so far. Btw, Megadave, that review of reviews was pure gold.
Btw, dl'd Breath of Fire 2 last night. So far not bad. A little weird for me to be playing an RPG by Capcom. The sound effects especially sound like they're straight outta Mega Man X, which isn't a bad thing but it's just a little odd to hear them out of context. I would say I'm looking forward to playing more soon, but that probably won't happen till I beat Prime 3 once or twice.

IIRC, BoF was originally by Square, but they abandoned the project and Capcom picked it up. Truly, BoF2 is one of the top RPGs of the SNES era. And, IMO, an improvement over the original game in every way. Which was already a fairly solid game.

Bit of a quandary here. It appears my Wii does not want to turn on. The power button light is red, so theres some power getting to my Wii, but when I hit the power button, nothing happens. I hear a tiny, quiet clicking sound. The last thing I ever did was play Super Metroid and I turned off the system like normal. And my RE4 disk is in there too :x. I didn't mod it, but it is a launch Wii, which probably is what the problem stems from.
So anyway. Does anyone know anything I can try or any sites to help me out? Nintendo had a page relating to power issues, but it didn't give me much help. Thanks.

Hey now, don't badmouth Bioshock, even indirectly. It's sexy.
This obviously doesn't mean I'm not really looking forward to MP3. It shall also be sexy, though less so graphically and moreso in a Metroid-Prime-like way.
Still, from what I've seen, the graphics still look pretty good, just not mind-blowing. The gameplay, however, shall be dead sexy.

Yes, because an 8.5 out of 10 is an absolute FAIL of a score.
I don't see you giving Gamepro any grief, despite that they gave it the exact same score and had similar pros and cons with it.
Anyone else in the world would see an 8.5 as pretty damn good.
Honestly 8.5 is not a bad score.....if it wasn't Metroid Prime 3. What really pisses me off is that I bet you 20 bucks that Halo 3 will get a score of at least 9.5 or higher (fyi I have nothing against Halo). That's just bullshit. Metroid Prime 3 deserves a score as good as Halo.

I hate to say it, but i would probably rate the Halo series above the metroid prime series just for lack of replay ability. depends on if the reviewer counts value aka price per hour. Halo multiplayer is pretty much infinite fun. whereas I'm sure metroid prime3 is a great single player game. I don't want to start any flame wars or whatever, but 8.5 is a pretty good score. I haven't picked up Prime 3 yet, but i will before the end of the year probably.
I bought Shinobi 3 off the VC, it's not as awesome as i remember it being. I suppose that's why there are no VC game demos.

I agree. Also, Halo had a pretty robust singleplayer campaign for its time. And didn't Metroid Prime 1 get a lot of 9.5 types of scores? That's pretty high for a game with inherently little replayablity after a few playthrus. And MP2, with all its problems and item-collection-fests and "go back the same corridor a dozen times" gameplay, got high ratings too. IMO MP2 just got too much credit for essentially being a clumsy sequel.

Halo and Metroid should not be compared. They deliver two completely different experiences, even though it might seem similar.
They are trying to accomplish different things, so saying that something from Metroid is bad because Halo has it and vica versa, is unreasonable.
You can't rip on Metroid because it doesn't support online multi-player, or on Halo because the single-player isn't as good as Metroid's. They should be graded on what it does offer, and how well it does it.
An 8.5 might seem low, but Metroid Prime 2 got a higher score, but i didn't like it at all. So, who knows...

For a series (the Prime series, that is) that had its bar set at MP (9.7 at Gamespot) and MP2 (9.1) I'd say yeah, 8.5 is a somewhat disappointing score--particularly for those who've been waiting for it for what seems like forever.

I actually really enjoyed 2, largely for the interface improvements. I don't mind the massive backtracking, because it gives me time to look at things I might not have noticed before. And, for a game that has such a high level of detail in the textures, that's a lot to look at.
But, I can see why people might not have liked it. Could have been worse, though. Imagine if there were nothing but drab steel-gray passages to walk through.

Same here, lock on/free aim, is great IMO. Keeps the camera fixed on the general target, instead of you trying to lock onto specific areas of enemies which have multiple lock-on points but only one or two of which are weakpoints. More streamlined, IMO.

I got the "better" Adventure Island in February because I'm a huge fan of the original series -- it wasn't better overall (though the new weapons helped quite a bit).
DKJr Math....don't buy it.
Bonk 3 is good, but I'm waiting on it since I just bought Star Fox 64 and Super Metroid this morning.
Still, I continue to be impressed with the VC -- the game list is good now, and if they keep up this release schedule, it'll just get better.

N'Gai Croal points out a very interesting problem with the gaming press concerning Wii:
All this portends a sharp divergence between the people who faithfully cover games and the next-gen console with the most momentum, making the gaming press increasingly out of touch with what's really going on in the world. Has Game Informer put a Wii title on the cover since Red Steel? Has EGM put any Wii titles on its cover? I don't know for sure, but the bulk of the covers I see are for games that are leading on Xbox 360 and shipping simultaneously (cough, cough) for PS3. Wii games are relegated to cover lines or the guts of the mags. I don't think any of this is cause for Nintendo to be concerned, but I do wonder when the coverage is going to reflect the sales charts, if at all.
full article (http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/levelup/archive/2007/09/04/monday-morning-quarterback-for-july-2007.aspx)
Wii outsells rivaling consoles by massive margins on a regular basis. Why doesn't the press cover Wii games more? There are some serious grudge issues going on.

Because it's easier to get hyped about games with "good" graphics. How hyped were Motorstorm, Lair and Heavenly Sword? A fuckton, but none of those appear to be top quality games (certainly not in Lair's case). But since they're pretty, hey, give them as much attention as you can.

I think most true gamers know that such games haven't lived up to their hype. However, a lot of 360 games have (or in Gears of War's case, totally surpassed the hype) and that made a world of difference. And Wii games, honestly, just come and are sold as is because there really are no hype for them, positive or negative. A lot of PS2 games used to be like that.
Other than truly AAA titles like the re-remade Ninja Gaiden Sigma, there really aren't games that are actually worth $60 on it.
In addendum, they did have a really good title in Resistance but that's like one game. I still think PS3 will get its due later on, but it sure is taking a while.

The feather appeared in the original Mario Kart and made you jump for a brief moment. It was useful for dodging shells and taking shortcuts.
By the way people, it is confirmed during E3 (from the many people who played the game) that you will be able to jump for a brief moment. Same for online, more players, and old-school tracks. It's in there. Doubt all you want, it's in there. Even Reggie let most of it go during the E3 conference.

Nintendo definitly learned. They learned that Apple products dominate the electronic market. How genious was it of them to model the Wii after the ipod, ibook, etc.. The minimalist design, the white exterior, even the name of the console itself. Well done Nintendo design & marketing team, well done.

Wow, you're a firecracker aintcha.
Nah. What he doesn't realize, is if Nintendo really were taking a page out of Apple's book, then next year we'd see 2 new Wii. One scaled down and devoted exclusively to VC and WiiWare, with the other one having 2-4x the internal storage(1-2GB), with a faster DVD drive for faster loading.
Then 2 years later, we'd see an even better mini system, with enough internal memory to hold 3 or 4 GC games at a time, available for download through the Wii store, with another model featuring HD graphics on a dual-core GPU, with games still requiring V1 spec, but the new model allowing for automatic upscaling.
2 years after that, 6 years from the original Wii's launch, we'd see a Wii with voice chat/voice command as standard, with the ability to launch games on command, with 200GB internal storage space and the ability to autorip GC and Wii games directly to the console, for near instant loading times, along with Dreamcast and original Xbox compatibility, coupled with the ability to run multiplayer games on the same unit, output to multiple HDTV sets to maximize screen realestate.
2 months later, the price of that unit would drop to $99USD, with a 5000 WiiWare points card to early adopters, while at the same time releasing a new spec of wiimote that would make all old 3rd party, unsigned/unauthorized expansion bits obsolete, because they wouldn't fit on the new remotes, which would feature internal charging features using manual charging methods, power generated from shaking the remote for 5 minutes for 20 minutes of play.
Through it all, we'd see subtle refinements in the process, so that the "low end", drive-less model is actually little more than a box the size of a single DVD case, with the sensor bar's IR diodes built-in, with HDMI compatibility right on the box, while the high end one is the power of 4 Wii combined, has lost the core Gamecube jacks, in favor of a gamecube shell for the new remote, and is roughly the size of 2 DVD cases, stacked.
So, let's hope Nintendo took their design ideas from Apple. At the price the Wii is, consumers can obviously afford to replace it with a new model every 18-24 months, in favor of new features and higher power, while still being able to use your entire old library of games.

I thought most Nintendo fans would wish Nintendo would release these 'SUPER ULTIMATE' versions of their consoles (especially handhelds in the last 5 years..) instead of them going the iPod path or even the PS3 path. Dropping the older systems systematically (pun) and pushing a sorta/kinda newer system out there.
Though really, internal hard drive idea has been floating around a while so I fully expect it to happen within a year, maybe even less. And I'll have to buy it like a sucker again.

I met my first Wii hater this week-end.
I was in an EBgames, looking at the classic controller for my newly found VC addiction, and I was explaining to my friend the reason for that controller. As I was doing some mental math concerning my budget, the clerk comes up to me and says:
:350:"Yeah, that's a classic controller for the Wii."
No shit sherlock... but still, I'm gonna be polite.
"Yeah, I know, I'm thinking of getting one for the virtual console."
:350:"Yeah, it will work with some games, companies are also gonna use it for their games."
"Hmmm, I know of smashbros, any other games that are gonna use it?"
:350:"I don't know, its just that the Wii just doesn't perform up to everyone's expectations."
"So yeah hmmm, anyway, I'm gonna go somewhere else."
That's strike 2 for EBgames, strike 1 was selling me a used game saying it was "new".
Also, there was something weird this week-end with my Wii. I brought it at a friend's place and well, the pointer kept jumping up an down. Look in the settings and somehow there were 4 white dots on screen no matter what I did. Is it possible that the backlight from his LCD screen messed up the pointer?

Last week I took my Wii to a friend's place, to show him some stuff since he didn't have a wireless router yet, but had just purchased his own Wii.
Because of the setup, the pointer was really jumpy.
Were there any other sources of IR, nearby? Reflection from the sun, perhaps? Or some other source of heat? Could throw off the pointer, since you can use candles in place of the bar.

Thats interesting, I come across Wii haters all the damn time. Yeah, ebgames and gamestop employees can be real idiots sometimes. They get hired because supposedlly they are big gamers but in reality their taste in games are mostly mainstream and very narrow. But not all of their employees are like that. I know some guys at my nearest gamestop that actually like a little of everything and are un-biased.

Um, you guys do know that EB and Gamestop "gut" copies of their games, right? They remove the game and booklet so they can put the box on the shelves for display purposes, to show they have the game. If it's a non-popular/big name game, they usually only do this with one copy. If it's a really popular/big name one, they may do it with 4-8 copies.

Did anyone else get a hiccup with the system update notification thing? This morning my system was glowing and I had a message board post from Nintendo claiming there was an update, but when I went to grab it I was told my firmware was up-to-date. When I came back from classes it was glowing again and there was not only a notification that the Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel was now available, but duplicates of both messages. I tried to update again and nothing.

the basis for sonic the hedgehog?
In the game, Sonic has to prevent Doctor Robotnik from collecting six of the Chaos Emeralds in an attempt to rule South Island. He must traverse six "zones", each comprised of three stages or "acts", until he confronts Robotnik for the last time in the Final Zone.
lets change it around a bit by saying mario must traverse 8 worlds, each comprised of 3 stages, until he confronts bowser for the last time.
sonic is not doing anything mario hasnt already done. the only thing it had going for it was the fact that sonic could move really fucking fast without a framerate slowdown. but thats a "whopde doo big shit". the level design was a bit more intricate in sonic as well.

Okay, you want ways in which Sonic the Hedgehog was different from Super Mario Brother:
Projectiles: Mario could gain powerups to use projectiles, Sonic could not.
Structure: Mario used a x-1 to x-4 structure, with a variation of the same boss. Sonic 1 had a X-1 to X-2 structure, using fundamentally different bosses.
Music: Each level in Sonic had a musical theme associated with the area, in Mario, each stage had a music theme associated with the stage (water music, under ground music, castle music, and overworld music.)
Gameplay: SMB had a simple left to right structure where you had to jump over obstacles to progress. Sonic had a flexible scrolling which could have you going from left to right then down, then left, then right, then up.
Puzzles: SMB had none, save from the last castle in which you had to, by trial and error, figure out where to go. Sonic had switches and various things to use to progress.
Even if you compare SMW to Sonic, SMW coming after Sonic, you have little similitude, and at that point, these elements may have been lifted from Sonic.
However, if you still wanna claim that Sonic is a copy of SMB, then I claim that SMB is a copy of Pitfall.

Wrong. This game is a shameless ripoff of Super Mario Bros.:
http://www.ocremix.org/game/great-giana-sisters-c64/
While I'm not afraid to admit that Super Mario Bros. is an awesome game and one that I speedrun regularly, Sega was going out on their own when they created Sonic.
It is an extremely different beast. The similarities exist with the collecting of rings, which may have very well been borrowed from Sonic, due to needing 100 of them to gain an extra credit and the chime that rings when a ring or coin is collected.
Saying that the boss-thing is rip-off is ridiculous. Because the boss is at the end of the stage? No, and Mario wasn't the first game to do that either. By the way, there's a boss at the end of every Sonic stage, whereas Super Mario Bros. had a boss at the end of every fourth stage.
Also, Super Mario 1 and 2 had flat land only. Sonic's land (on all games) is curved, loopty-looped and twisted. The enemies, the music, the graphics, and the play control are completely different.
Mario throws fireballs. Sonic has a spin dash, and the spin dash was a first for Sonic. Plus, Sonic saved animals trapped inside of robots from an evil madman. Also, Sonic had mini-stages and emeralds that needed to be collected in order to assume the final form.
Mario was based on defeating enemies and getting to the end without getting killed by a turtle or falling in a pit. During most Sonic stages, the idea is to keep momentum and not lose it.
You also pointed out that the entire point of the game is collecting the rings. Wrong - You only need one to keep Sonic alive (excluding pits and being crushed).
He didn't jump on turtles and save princesses. Also, I'm a big fan of both the Mario series and the Sonic series. Mario is my favorite, but Sonic is a different beast and has a flare that the Mario games can't provide. This is the same the other way around.
Your baseless and simply incorrect comparison is likely based off of blatant fanboyism and the reason I'm upset is because you are being extremely arrogant. You know this.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles was a part of my childhood. It is one of the most innovative, diverse, and exhilarating games I've played. Plus, it had a damn good soundtrack.
Don't forget the dynamic sonic 2 used where two players could play at once through the levels (cooperatively or competitively). I think NSMB is the only mario game to attempt something like this. And the whole concept where if you find all the hidden bonus items through the whole game, you gain a new ability and a better ending. And all the elemental shields which provide new abilities. Don't get me wrong - I adore mario games - probably more than the sonic games (though I still find them awfully hard to compare)...but don't go over-simplifying and ignoring what made sonic so great to begin with.
Also wow, hahaha, I feel like it's the early 90's all over again.
EDIT: I forgot to put anything useful in this post, so let me also say this: I might get this crossbow/zapper combo if only for medal of honor, which looks like it might be fantastic. We'll see. I know the crossbow game is just a bunch of minigames, but...meh. 20 bucks. And if it makes heroes 2 more playable, I'm all for it.

Uhhh... what.
Again this morning (or late last night, I bet). No one else?

Now here's something relatively interesting: IGN said that the Wii Zapper's trigger feels "spongy and unresponsive", which really would be a bad thing for something like MoH. However, they've also just announced a new one on Gear - the "Brando Wii 2 in 1 combined Light Gun", which they say may be the best design yet. They don't have a hands-on yet, but basically it looks like if the trigger has a tighter spring than the Zapper it will blow it away. Check here for the article. (http://gear.ign.com/articles/819/819579p1.html) Looks a lot more comfortable than that "blaster" that came out recently as well. Of course this would mean sacrificing the crossbow training, but big deal - it's just Duck Hunt with those goblins from TP anyway. I'm still going to wait and see what they say about it once it's out. I wonder if since MoH is "compatible" with the Wii Zapper as they say, it would also be "compatible" with this. It probably just means button accessibility, so I doubt it would be a problem.

1: It'll probably be like $70 or something for the bundle.
2: If it's your first time playing, it'll do you just fine. They are a lot better than what they used to be years ago. When you start playing on the expert level, you'll probably want to invest in a Red Octane Ignition Pad(around $70 now a days)
3: I prefer playing alone at the arcades, so yes.
Also, #1 rule when starting DDR. DON'T STAND IN THE MIDDLE THE WHOLE TIME. Or when you step on a panel, don't always go back to the middle. The majority of people that play for the first time do this(I did), and while it's ok for beginner songs, it won't help you out once you start playing a little bit more difficult songs. So basically just keep your movements flowing. It'll also save you energy so you're not moving twice as much by going back to the center of the mat after every step.
In other words, don't do this(watch the guy on the right): http://youtube.com/watch?v=TSpol599E0U
Do this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=_vrXSneQBcY

I'd definitely be in for a brawl clan, but I highly doubt Nintendo's online stuff will give us any kind of capability for it.
Actually, although there may not be connectivity in the game itself, you would just have to download the Opera browser, and set-up a thread on a forum somewhere so everyone had their friend codes or whatever the crap is you use to add codes. Then you just have to go back and load the game, since you're already online.
It's pretty awkward, I agree, but there's still enough functionality to allow a tournament, you just need to set the rules down off-game, if it is as limited as people fear.
Actually, until the other online announcements come, we have no idea. There could be some sort of multi-man melee (but brawl-style) that would let you set up tournaments with friends online. Who knows? But at the least, it would just take a webpage somewhere or a forum thread to handle the dearth of functionality.
Basically the way I see it, you set up a certain number of seeds, have people fill them, randomized or whatever, by skill (# of wins), and after you seed the players, just go through matches. Someone said you could score 4 points for 1st place, 3 for 2nd, and so on. So the first 3 move on, or, after a certain number of matches, people with < # points move to the next round, until you reach a final elimination round with 4, 3, or 2 players. The winner of that/those battles wins.
It would take some good administration, and people working together, but if interest is high enough, it wouldn't be impossible. Perhaps it may even be popular. Anyway, it's just another possibility of many out there.

I guess I should give more info on that game. I don't know how to explain it so I'll just steal text from IGN.
The makers of Wish Room, Harvest Moon, Chulip, Final Fantasy XII and Dragon Quest VIII team up for a special project for the Wii -- a simulation/adventure game with unique mechanics and RPG gameplay. You play as Corobo Bread, a sick boy who finds a magical crown that transforms him into a fine king. Taking control of Corobo, your primary goal is to dole out jobs to residents in an effort to make your kingdom grow. Thankfully, Corobo's crown makes people follow his orders. To do this, you lead the people of the town by groups to spots that need work and issue them orders for tasks. Different tasks require different numbers of people, with groups ranging from just a few people to scores of people. As your kingdom grows in size and population, you'll start to see new types of development. You'll also have to deal with pests who get in the way as you attempt to build your kingdom, and so must direct villagers into battle. Outside of this hefty simulation component, the game also has a more personal side, where all residents have a life of their own that you can explore through communication and relationships.

The gameplay looks a bit more interesting too.
If this game comes to the U.S., I will be getting it reserved. It looks awesome. 2-D? That graphic style? Can't beat it. It's like those old school 2D games that make you look in the background and think "Whoa. I wonder what it would be like to walk around back there." And those monsters look cool as hell too.
I bet the music will be awesome as well.
Edit: This just in. The Wii is getting even more badass:

May be old, but hey, crazy Japanese games are exactly what this console needs.

Bump. Alright Wii people. Stop lurking, start posting.
Dragon Blade, Dewey's Adventure, DDR, and Fishing Master are out. So we got a good variety of games over the week. Has anybody played these yet? I'm wanting some opinions - Apparently Halo 3 is the only game that exists right now and there are hardly any decent reviews out there.
Anyway, have you played any of these, or are you planning on picking one of them up? Why or why not?

I got DDR. It's good for a home version. TONS better than Mario Mix. Red Octane definitely needs to make a 3rd party pad for the GC/Wii though, because the soft pad just won't cut it for expert players.

That inspires me to mod and design a Wii myself. If only I had thousands of dollars of disposible income :(.
I really want to win the powerball lottery. Why do old people win it then sit on their money? I don't know about you, but I could do a lot of things with 250 million dollars.

If I had 250 million dollars, I would take my rusty old Mustang and give it a 500 horse engine and give it a Megaman color scheme (blue with light blue accents, all metallic). And blue lighting and seats and stuff. That's the first thing I would do .
And I would give a lot of it to charity and the less fortunate members of my own family.
And to hell with a Wii-mod. I'd have a theatre in the basement with every console known to man (excluding the Cd-i, Jaguar and 3D0), all hooked up through a master hub.
Oh, and I would buy some land by a river so that I could fish, jog and scream really loud all the time (and hear it echo).
And last but not least, a wireless router so that I could get my Wii back online.

I'm assuming the pad connects through the Gamecube controller port...is that right?
As for other games Megadave mentioned...Dragon Blade looked kinda interesting, but I'm really gonna need to see some reviews before I consider buying it. Then, Dewey's Adventure was a game I was excited for when it was first announced, but given that reviews are pretty sour for it I'm reconsidering. I may wait to try it out first, but it seems like while the concept was cool the execution was lacking.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting the soundtrack to be all that great, but I actually like it. There's 50 songs total(including unlocks), and there are two 10 footers. Compared to the difficulty to Mario Mix, I was surprised to see any 10 footers on a Nintendo DDR game. There's also a decent amount of 9 footers as well.
So yeah, if there's any way to get a good pad to be used with the GC port(Answer to Penfold's question) in the near future, it's definitely worth looking into.
I've uploaded a handful of videos from the game on my YouTube (http://youtube.com/profile?user=bigfootkevin) account if you want to check those out.

This is a special week on the Wii Shop Channel. Frankly, it's a gamer's dream come true: Nintendo is launching the new Import genre Please, oh please introduce Mother 1, Nintendo! I heard you guys even had it translated but never released it.

I guess I could :) It's fairly challenging and has some decent length, which is always good. I have yet to beat it on Normal difficulty, and certain menu's make me believe there are some unlockables to be uhm...unlocked.
It's definitely worth the money concidering you'd normally pay over $70 (?) for a new N64 game, back in the day.
On a side note: if Nintendo is going to make another Starfox, for the love of God let Treasure do it!!! Not Namco, seeing how they have more experience with RPG's/Fighting games.
It's so obvious! :D

I'm going to get the Treasure shooter (thanks for the recommendation, RF) and will post a mini-review when I play it later tonight.

Nice, both games look pretty purchase-worthy. Think I'm gonna wait a bit though, given that I too many games I'm still trying to get through as it is. That, and I'm trying to hold off on downloading any more N64 games till Nintendo gives us further means of storage for the Wii.

This is the first I've at all heard about these things. Which is strange, because usually they at least pop up on Kotaku before they're even "official." Kinda like the 3 newer variations of the wrist strap(thicker string, rounded cap, lock clip).

I started filling out the order form and right at the last step once I hit submit it takes me to a white page so I don't really know if the order went through or not. I did not receive any email either. I suppose I'll try filling out the order again a couple of days from now to see if it will give me some type of confirmation. Hopefully it didn't screw up and say I already placed an order but it still didn't go through the system.
Edit: Ahh crap I tried to place an order again and it says I have exceeded the number of wii jackets I can get. I guess this means it went through or so I hope.

You're misinterpreting what I'm saying, Bigfoot. I don't think everything should be free, but it wouldn't hurt to offer some points, you know, just enough to get a super nintendo game, to see what the VC has to offer when someone first purchases their Wii. By the way, I've bought over 10 games on VC, so I'm not saying "Oh fuck Nintendo", although I like to make fun of them for charging us for things we've bought multiple times. I think it might be feasible for them on a marketing standpoint and that it would be better than what they are offering now. I mean, who really needs those grip things. I'm not ordering them, so that shows how much I care. I think it's more selfish to download an assload of those things based off of the fact that they are free to you. So, that's what I was trying to say.
I'm not greedy, I've given them thousands of dollars throughout my lifespan.

I really thought that by now, I would be ale to collect Pepsi bottle caps or something similar to accumulate Wii points. 50 Wii points on each 20 oz soda? I'd buy a bunch of Pepsi for that. I think there's a huge market out there for someone to do that. Heck, I'd be excited if they did it for Xbox Live stuff too, even if I don't have a 360, just because I'd know similar stuff would happen with other brands and companies.
I have heard that there's Web sites like GamingLagoon that give you Wii points for filling out surveys and signing up for other offers (followed by an immediate cancellation, of course), but it sure seems shady compared to just collecting products I already buy anyway.
How about Wii points awarded in McDonald's Monopoly game? please?
