I really wonder why nobody else thought about this until now...

We definitely need a thread to post our Miis!
So here it is:

The quite official "Post your Mii" thread!


For a start, what I would like to see here is the following:
your Mii (obviously)
some reference photo
perhaps some "celebrity Mii"

If more than just some people are interested in it, we could also make a massive Wallpaper from all the Miis in this thread, something like the "official OC Remix UnMod Wallpaper" (for those who remember...)

Edit:
I created some submission guidelines for the wallpaper!
These are as follows:
Any kind of Mii is allowed. This includes your personal avatars, celebrity Miis, fantasy creations and everything else.
Please submit only your own art! Everybody submitting not his own creations will be completely banned from the wallpaper!
Make the pictures of the Miis as large as possible. The bigger the better!
Your whole Mii should be viewable, with body.
(optional) Cut out the Mii from the background and submit it in a gif-file with transparent background. This way I don't have to do it... :wink:
Post the image(s) you would like to submit in this thread. I will collect them and show you the progress of the wallpaper from time to time...

Only thing I don't know yet:
Which resolution should the final image have?
I myself have the desktop running at 1028x1024 pixels. Should I make it this size or are more people using other resolutions?

Well, if you don't have (access to) a Wii, you could always use the Mii Flash Creator (http://www.joystiq.com/media/2006/10/mii.swf) made by "mooz"...

It's quite near the original thing, and taking screenshots is far easier!

Which does bring me to an interesting point - how do you take screenshots of a Mii, besides whipping out a digital camera and pointing it at your TV? Can you email a picture to yourself or something?

I don't think my roommate has wireless internet at his parent's house, so I probably couldn't get him to send me a picture if I wanted him to, tragically.

I connected the Wii to my TV card in my computer...

It's a bitch to control since my PC faces away from my TV, so aiming with the WiiMote is really difficult...

Picture quality is... meh... stupid interlaced TV signal just doesn't look good on TFTs...


As I have written in the original Wii thread, a "Screenshot-function" in the Wii's Home menu is desperately needed!
Anyone knows where to tell Nintendo?

Completely offtopic, but my brother in law always names him "Cow"(that's his internet handle). It looks weird.

When my sisters and I were kids, we would play LttP. For the longest time we named the character Zelda because we thought that was his name(we hadn't heard of Zelda 1 or 2). It was pretty funny.

As I understand it, this "Mii parade" thing is something that only shows other people's online Mii wandering around...
The mii parade allows for all miis on your friend's Wii consoles that are set to mingle to appear inside your mii channel. Make sure to add your Wii code here (http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=95806) once you connect your Wii to WiiConnect24. I have about 50 in my main channel and another 40 in my parade because of this.

that work well, except you need to be use of the wii mote for it. it's not like TV, because the sensor bar, must be placed just under the screen if you want to use them normally (that mean putting the sensor bar atround 1m high here) so we have to point the wiimote a little below the real point show by the cursor on the screen. No problem to play zelda, nfs carbon, monkey ball or wii sport, but a little harder for wii play.

But what about the movement of the cursor?

As I understand it, the sensor bar is important for aiming. The WiiMote calculates it's movement from the relative position of the two IR-LEDs (in the sensor bar) and translates that to the movement of the cursor in the screen...

So does a bigger screen mean bigger movements?
I didn't see any configuration option for "screen size", so my guess is that the Wii always calculates with a default screen size...

So a movement of the WiiMote would result in a bigger movement of the cursor.

Did I get it wrong or am I completely off?

the X axis (the horizontal one) is ok, it's just the vertical axis, because you tend to point the wii mote to the screen, and it doesn't aim properly. we should find a trick to put the sensor bar just below the screen.

Like i said, you get used to it very quickly. and you're distance from a screen made by a beamer is bigger than a tv, so it's ok.

Not to criticise, but for the wallpaper I would like to have pictures of the whole Mii, like with body...

And it would be cool if the pictures themselves are as big as possible and in gif-format. The extra step on your people's side would be to already cut the Mii out of the background, so I don't have to...

gif-files may have a transparent background, so composing the final image would be a lto easier for me...
