Display settings resetting upon reboot

I just received a new Samsung SyncMaster Widescreen as a Christmas gift this year (it's great!). It's working fine, but there's this minor annoyance of having to reset my resolution every time I reboot; it likes to jump back to 1280x1024 for some reason. There's probably some simple fix that I've overlooked.

Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this?

I had the same problem, fixed with new drivers and windows updates. Don't reboot?

Check and make sure you have the latest drivers for your vid card.

Thats for nvidia, don't know about ATI.
