Recommended Firewall/AntiVirus

So I've just installed XP, and been advised not to use Norton anymore. Which free antivirus/firewall should I get?
A few people have recommended AVG, but I'm not sure about it, or which firewall to use.

Get Antivir. While it does nag you daily to purchase the full version, the free version protects you just as well against viruses(Full version includes other niceties) and is highly effective.

As for firewalls, if you're behind a router with a built-in firewall you normally don't need a software one. Otherwise, XP's default firewall does a decent job, and you can find some more suggestions here:

And yeah, I'm behind a router and have the windows firewall thingy, so that should be ok.

I would recommend AVG, but they're ditching the free version in a little bit, which is too bad...
