Bubble Bobble 'Hillbilly Rodeo'
Hell yeah! This is a MUST download! I didn't know DJP could sound so convincingly "backwoods". It's really not that bad at all, and it is hilarious! It was when DJP posted this to the site that I decided I could probably get away with my ROBOVoice shtick. Damn I can't help but laughing while listening to this. DOWNLOAD THIS NOW if you haven't heard this already. This should be required listening for everyone who visits OverClocked.

HAHAHA! Yes, this is great! I always thought DJP should do more Hillbilly ReMixes, but I suppose one would be enough for any sane human. :D

Even though the previous notes on this site are old, Ifell complled to add one.
I'm new to his site and a hick to boot. I'll forgive you... As soon as I can stop laughing. Excellent stuff.
This is pretty crazy...and friggin hilarious. But if you must know...that is DJP's real voice 8O :D
You must download...right now!

Dear Lord in heaven... Djp must have lost his mind when did this remix. It's worth a download so you can make fun of him forever.
Rating... Well, it is VERY original.

This is funny stuff.
I loved the music.
The occasional 'Yee-Haa!' was pretty cool, too.
and by the way, DJP, this doesn't sound TOO crazy.
And I seriously doubt that it would get you off for murdering someone.
But hey, there's always a chance...

Ok, I listened to it again.
I changed my mind.
Maybe you are kind of crazy.

Ok, I just heard this about 15 minutes ago after a friend sent it to me and I lost it the moment it started. I've always been a fan of humor remixes and this one is no exception. If anyone should be found guilty it should be anyone who doesn't download this. It's a must.
YEEEEEHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did a great job on this one, but it didn't really give me the hillbilly white-trash feel it should have. I'd suggest using instruments that a hillbilly band would use. You know, like a whistling jug and a fingernail washboard and a big base plucker.

Hey hey, no one bash this classic piece of DJP goodness! Ya ever look at the "favorite mixes" threads this sucker always pops up. It's original, hilarious, and funny too! Stands out nicely from DJP's other stuff too. Yeah, this is a great, a classic, a distinctive OCR timepiece, and always puts a big ol' smile on my face.
Rather surprised there aren't more reviews of this one.

This piece is musically unviable. There is absolutely nothing to the structure, there is no respect for musical theory. There is nothing that should make me say that I am impressed with this piece.
There. Now I can stop being a music critic and say what I think.
While technically... uh... interesting, this is a very, VERY funny song with a certain propensity towards getting stuck in your head. And the crazy part is, I like having it stuck in my head. This easily surpasses Music of my Groin. As I sit here writing, I'm still chuckling (and this was my tenth time hearing it). If you're looking for a technically impressive remix, look somewhere else. But if you want nothing more than unpasteurized, all-natural, 100% pure hilarity, DOWNLOAD THIS SONG.
But, DJP, one request. More comedy stuff, please. I think Shael Riley needs a run for his money.

DJP clearly says "lick my mountain dew" at 1:23. I laughed my ass off all the way through this mix, even more so when the voice came in. This is definitely a favorite of mine.

I review this mix with a chat session from IRC when I first got this TODAY from Walan...
<Kyoden> Listening to HillyBilly Rodeo
<Walan> djp's best.
<Kyoden> W..t..f...
<Walan> That's what I first said.
<Kyoden> This is funny.
<Kyoden> LoL!
<Kyoden> I like this.
<Walan> That's djp's own voice, btw.
<Kyoden> OMG
<Kyoden> I wonder what he was smoking.
Sweet mother of jebus. What is wrong with you DJP?
No matter, It made me laugh, and I give this mix a good rating, I recommend it, It's worth a quick laugh at the very least.

Wow...the initial vocals made me kinda skeptical, but then it got going.
VERY nice use of the gee-tar - shucks, of all the instrumentation (esp the rhythmic sheep!).
It reminds me very much of the racing levels in Earthworm Jim.
LOL - - the country skat...holy moley...first time I just fell out of my chair near about....
Yes, this mix is excellent.

Funniest and wackiest remix I've ever heard! :lmassoff: I didn't thought someone, especially DJ Pretzel, could be this wacky and insane at the time! 8O  The voice remember me the one of Claitus, that ol'yorkel, in da Simpsons! ... can't...stop...laughing...too...funny!!!!!

The world may someday forgive you for this, but I sure won't! =P Just kidding, just kidding. This is definately... different. Although I prefer the ordinary Bubble Bobble mixes, you've really made something worth remembering here. I don't think I'll ever be able to play BB again without thinking of this.

Just The voices alone are worth a listen, as they're freakin' hilarious. And the hillbilly scatting? Priceless. You can't help listening to this one a couple times in a row, just cuz it's such a great track. And what's this about licking Mountain Dew?

Totally agree with Tiberiansam and the others, this is hilarious in a great way. I just had to listen to it repeatedly and I'm sure I'll do so once in a while. I like this sort of music, can't help letting it grow on me. It's cheesiness is part of its beauty, though no doubt it's one of those you either love or hate. I love it. Nice job.
P.S. even the music from the TV movie "Joe's Apartment" is not as great as this 1.

Good humor mix. Probably the best Bubble Bobble mix ever made.
Just one question:
What is "bubba" doing with that poor sheep to make it cry like that?
Shadikka
01-08-2005, 09:35 AM
This is just so hilarious :D
The sheep just owns the song.
Haha. I'm currently listening to it and my father looked at me with a "WTF"-face XD He asked that "What is this?" and he didn't so quite believe me... first...

What.. The... F**k?
Dude... This is just... Horrible, man. Not that it's not good, but... This song wasn't made to be mangled like this. I opened it before I read the reviews because it was a Bubble Bobble mix and.... Man, this is screwed up. And when he was singing gibberish along with the banjo, it sounded like he said something about Mountain Dew.
Dude... Crazy, man.

this song is great.
I love bubble bobble's tune and I appreciate this humorous version. a good example of what djp means for "ReMix": a totally new song with a very original arrangement.
ranks:
fun 30+/30
arrangement 28/30
vocals 5/30
overall 28/30
The filename has a o_O in it, and rightfully so. You havent been to OCR until you hear this.

DJP... I had no idea you were a hick at heart. And I'm so thankful you made this (I just listened to the 'Jungle' and 'Speed' version of this). Normally, I'm anti-chez but, here... you're tryin.' And thus, it's hilarious! I might change the drums a little but, otherwise the country is down.

This just came on ormgas, and I realize I still don't have any words for it except:
"What the hell? This is beautiful."
Also,
"A deep da dooda deep da doo." Truly profound stuff.

Hahaha! What the hell? Words escape me, DJP, but you did manage to bring a smile to my face. Anyone who can take a Bubble Bobble tune and transform it into a hillbilly hoedown with billy goats and banjos are, well, gifted. Great Remix!

This is one of those great moments, where a famous individual can look back and say 'Yes, I was once there.. I did crazy things in my youth!'
Of course since this djp has become a veritable prodigious talent, but I think this will always hold a special place to some of us.. on par with Music of my Groin :D

This remix alone wouldn't be enough to prove that DJP is crazy, although the part that begins at 1:20 makes me think the other way.
But other than that, the music in this piece is just superb. The country guitar playing its happy tunes and strings together with a hillbillie and a weird sheep, I mean this is classic! At first I thought that the quote that this remix began with was made of Cletus in the Simpsons, but this arrangement got some extra bonus points when I read that you were the one doing the vocals.
The only downside with this may be that you overused the voice, after a while I got tired of Bubba shouting YEE-HAA. The music is an entirely different thing, since I really can get myself into it, it's simply awesome to listen to. So in my opinion, the part between 0:25 and 1:07 was the best since you could focus on the music itself. However, I still find the idea with some crazy redneck talk hilarious, so as long as it makes me smile, it's alright.
Nice work. :nicework:

This mix is a true piece of OCR history. All you newbies out there should give this a whirl to see what DJP did he went on anti-hick meds.
Then you can go to his newer stuff and see how versatile someone can be whilst remixing. Excellent work!

This remix is one of my favorites. When someone asks if I could recommend anything on OCR, I usually mention this hilarious hilbilly mix.
I got tired of Bubba shouting YEE-HAA.
How do you know it was Bubba and not Bobba? :?

I got tired of Bubba shouting YEE-HAA.
How do you know it was Bubba and not Bobba? :?
I am quite certain that it's Bubba, not Bobba. The difference in the pronounciation is kind if big, but since it's a different dialect I'm not that familiar with, it could just as easily be Bobba too.
I was actually thinking about this remix while travelling home from work, I have even started to mimic the lyrics and the result is kind of the same. The guitar in this remix is also one of the best I've heard.

OMG!!
This one is amazing. Good country music and you just won't stop smiling. This song just reminded me of a crazy video. In that video, a girl in lingerie was dancing to some techno music based on chicken voices.
I am just going to forward this to some sad souls. LOL!
Edit: I was reading the reviews and this song was on repeat. This song is stuck in my head now. I would never see a sheep or a redneck in the same way again. Where is the sheep/redneck, dude? Thanks for the insanity, DjP.
Can I use this in my insanity plea?

Just happened to read some FAQ material and found a link to this one.. Just hilarious... Great.
One of the best laughes I've ever had was during a trip to Jamaica and seeing for the first time a "pig-neck-cattle-auction" or whatever with some crazy yoodeling action on TV.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHA! :lmassoff: Oh my god! This is amazing! I...I can't stop laughing or listening to this! Oh.....oh, I can't breathe.....aha..ha.....Oh, man, DJP, this is quite possibly the funniest thing I've heard in the last month at least. I'm not joking when I say I'd love to hear more country/bluegrass/hillbilly tunes like this, even if it's not as insanely weird and good at the same time. The tag "goofy" is perfect for this. Ah, damn, that was great. Thank you for making this, really. Yeehaw!
