Burning a dvd with only one drive

So, I have one dvd burner. And I want to burn a dvd with it. I know i'd first have to rip it to my computer to probably convert it, then burn it to a dvd. Anyone know how to do this?

If you have a decent burning program like Roxio or Nero, you just use the copy DVD feature. It'll rip the image of the DVD to your computer temporarily, then when it's done it'll spit the original out and ask for a blank disc. Then it'll write it, and you're done.

On dvd9 stuff, I just use dvd shrink to make the rip, then burn it with nero.
