Hey, Pretz! Here's a little something I cooked up. It's a straightforward,
nostalgic kind of groove. I was going for simplicity. I'm curious to hear
the judges comments on it, as it's a bit of a departure from what I usually
do (then again, what isn't?)
Peace and keep on rockin'!

This sorta sounds ok sometimes, then the bass notes just all clash and it just goes blegh. This is VERY rough around the edges. Don't like the drum beat, it didn't really groove for me in the true sense.

Sorry, this doesn't work for me. The techno drum beat deosn't really jive with the rest of the song. Maybe try something a little more hip-hopish or jazzy? Also, the low vibes (if that's reallt what they are) don't sound good at all. All in all, this needs much work.

Not much to this mix. It sounds.. okay. But I dunno. I'm just not seeing this as OCR caliber. There's not enough going on for one thing, it seems rather empty. I personally find it downright annoying.

I found myself having to go back and listen to Shael's other stuff to try and pinpoint his "style." All I have for reference are his Zelda and FFI mixes. Well obviously "Music of My Groin" is bit of an exception, so after listening to "Matoya's Hot With Destiny" I've got a good clue as to what Shael is capable of...

Sadly, it's more than this :(. I know he said he was going for simplicity, but that's what kills it. The beat, the hihat, the synths, the song itself...everything is too simple. Shael's an accomplished remixer, so I figure he already knows what to do. This was an experiment, was it not Shael?
