Hey all you guys out there in remixing land. This is DjOrange under a retarded pseudonym pretending he's still part of the scene :(. I've been pretty much idle for the past two years, but I got bored over the Christmas break, and what better way to spend Christmas break than remixing video game music that hasn't been relevant in 13 years?

The source for this arrangement is the proggy tune from the "Clockwork Mansion" stage of Castlevania 4.

I'm not submitting this one. It was pretty much just for pratice. I might take another stab at remixing soon. Suggestions?

The percussion is really great. I can tell you put a lot of effort into it.

The emphasis is obviously on the drum/bass, but I'm not super fond of some of the higher register samples like the acoustic guitarish one at 1:08. The lead at 2:38 is ok, but it's not incredibly awesome. But that could be just in general that things seem to be mixed towards the lower register stuff. It could just be my speakers, but you might want to tone the bass down just a little bit.

And like around 1:18 or so...I know those notes are in the original, but for some reason things don't seem to mix too well. Maybe it's the combination of effects and the way things are mixed, but you might want to check it out. It sounds sort of cool in an unsettling way, I guess, but it sounds kind of messy too. I guess the mix overall also doesn't deviate an incredible amount from the original but there's plenty of cool stuff you added over top to where that's not a problem.

Those are just incredibly nitpicky comments, though. What you have is definitely cool stuff, especially the awesome drums. You realllly should come back to the world of remixing.

Awesome work. Even though the bass sample is really synthy, it works. The drums are just freaking awesome, and the arrangement is cool too. I agree that some of the higher notes seem a little off, but this is still an awesome piece.

Very cool. I especially like how the bass really has that Castlevania sound to it.
