Oh man, this is so awesome. The overall feeling opening this piece is so mellow and harmonic, and although strings and an electric guitar is later added to the arrangement it still manages to keep that feeling, although more dynamic than before. It has just become morning over here, so this remix sets the mood perfectly on the day I have ahead of me.
I give this remix a perfect score. Not only that it's happy and energic mood makes me feel good, but it also makes me want to hunt down a copy of this game and buy it.

Not bad, but the incredibly weak and stiffly sequenced piano doesn't fit at all, and it's used to carry a lot of sections of the mix. The Orichalcon's recent Pictionary mix had a rigid piano as well, but he embraced it and worked it in in such a way that it seemed to become a matter of taste, while the piano here just strikes me as struggling and out-of-place. The electric piano flourishes from 2:40~ to 3:00~ suffer similarly but not quite as badly. The drums also don't quite seem to fit, especially the dance kick--the jazz-pop patterns are fine, but during high-energy sections there are some uncomfortable spastic patterns that seem to be in the wrong song.
Overall it's a solid foundation with a lot of minor flaws (although I'd argue the piano is a major issue) and I agree with the judges who asked for a resub. Live guitar wins again I guess.

I agree with Leah regarding the "weak and stiffly" piano - certainly the only real problem I have with this. The drum samples (somewhat the hi-hats but particularly the cymbal crashes) are rather low-fi and blatantly fake sounding. These problems are only minor, however, considering that there is MUCH to be appreciated here: nice contrast between the electrifying, energetic patterns and the jazzy patterns. Well recorded live guitar - awesome. The mix wins me over, definitely a must have even if you haven't heard of or played Phoenix Wright. Makes great driving music. Nice first posted mix OA, would love to hear more from you!

ZOMG a happy go lucky song on OCR!?
Been waiting for this one to get posted as I have been wanting to listen to it. :) Overall the arrangement, flow, and 'feeling' of this song is what does it for me. The only thing that really bothers me is there seems to be a lil too much shimmer on the hats in certain sections. Of course that particular sound fits well with the mood, so it's really just a matter of personal preference. The live guitar is awesome, and comes in at a perfect time. This def great driving music or something to really just put on repeat after a rough day or early in the morning when the sun has just come up.

Nice work on this one. I'm all about the string work on this one. Call me for piano. ;)

That's exactly how I feel, right down to wanting to play the game myself. Sadly, I don't really have the money for it and a DS at the moment. =(

OK so I saw Phoenix Wright on the front page and almost had a heart attack, and finally downloaded a mix right when I first saw it (it's been a while since I did that).
That being said, this is quite nice. I have some of the same gripes that other people have already mentioned, but all in all I like this. Plus it's Phoenix Wright so it gets an instant HOORAY!

the drums shame the rest of the mix and the piano could be much better, but it's still fun.

I'm very much the fan of this. I don't have any technical information to offer but from a purely consumerist point of view, I've had a crappy day and this cheers me up. I worried (before reading any reviews; therefore I didn't know the makeup of the song) there'd be an insertion of vocals, which stands a good chance to ruin any song I'd otherwise love, and I was happy to listen to the whole thing and find it purely instrumental. Props.

Very nice piece. I had only heard rumors of the game and the occasional reference to it in a few scattered locations. To tell you the truth, a court sim game is not thing you would expect good music to come from. But it is very pleasent to listen to. It does not blow your mind with "WOW this is awesome!" But very well done.

I enjoyed this. Thoroughly. The vibe I get from it is strangely very similar to Darangen's Finally Home track - it's got the same, well, triumphant feel would best describe it.
Much approved.

I've been waiting, nay PRAYING, for someone to submit a remix from Phoenix Wright. Not only have you delivered, you delivered with GUSTO! Thank you SO much. I'm going to be listening to this for a LONG time. One of the best of its kind IMO.
I can understand some of the technical criticisms, but it put a big smile on my face. At the end of the day, that's what really matters to me.
Now you just need to remix the "Objection!" music in this style. ;)

Mother friggin' bravo, son. I usually wait for the song to end before I write a review about it but I couldn't wait for it to end. It tickled me that much. EXCELLENT choice in the track you've chosen for the first PW mix on this site. This is indeed a "Victory!!" Also, 'Objection!' would've been acceptable, but this mix stands well on it's own.
You know, I was begining to wander how long it would be for a PW mix to show up with how many people on the site pronouncing their love for the game(s).
What gets me liking this is the how it goes in and out of being slow and calm to upbeat and energenic. Great job, sir. Thank you and good night!

Same. This is just a really nice mix all around. This one went straight to my ipod for my drive home from work the other day, because I knew it would work well for that. I'm all about songs that provide energy and motivation. What else is there to say except that it rocks my world. This game deserved a sweet remix and here it is.
Mixing, mastering and production are all tight. It's plain to see why this made it on OCR. Good job!

I was elated to see a Phoenix Wright remix up here at OCRemix. I've played both of the games released in the US, but I can't place this song. What music is it a remix of?
Failling to recognize it didn't stop me from enjoying it though. Very nicely done. I've got a weak spot for the super cheesy cheery tunes that must be satisfied every now and then.

Nice song, everyone I've shown it too has enjoyed it too, and they think most of my music is a little weird.
On another note, I actualy like the feel of the piano used for the song, so maybe it is a matter of taste :O.(Maybe I have poor taste?)

This song is from the first PW. It's basically the track you hear everytime you win a trial. If I'm not mistaken, the track is called 'The First Victory' or 'Victory!'... not exactly, sure.
Wow guys, thanks for all the positive comments! I really appreciate them, and I am super psyched that you guys like my mix for the most part. :D
The song is called Victory!~ The first victory and it's a great track. You guys can check out the original here:

Excellent work. Flows very nicely.
The piano solo that goes from 1:00 to 1:22 had enough prestige it reminded me of Zircon's work. I'm sure you know to take that as a compliment. I would have loved to hear more piano solo.
Great style OA. Keep'em coming for us.

Nice, upbeat song. Fits perfectly for a fun game like the PW series.
Now I hope that there'll be more remixes from the series; I especially liked the theme playing whenever the court started a session in PW1.

Hi, I loved this song and it is currently among my favorites. Such power and emotion, this remix makes me want to play the game even though I don't have a DS. I rate it 9.5/10, great job!

Dude, I just gotta gush! This song is so sweet on a level that I'm pretty sure hasn't been experienced here on OCR yet. What level is that? I'm talking about pure unbridled happiness! Kind of like Avaris said, it's kind of happy-go-lucky. For me though, it's like walking along a river in a perfect world. I just can't quite put my finger on it, but this song just has a certain kind of dramatic quality to it that says, "YOU ARE HAPPY NOW!" I love the way you do a kind of high phrase with the piano at 1:10 and then do the same phrase with that big strings sound at 2:20. Felt like crying man! Thank you.

I honestly don't remember anything like it from the game.. then again.. It's been a while since I've played it...
either way... This is AMAZING stuffs! :3
Not trying to offend you OA, but some parts of this song reminded me of the Sims 2 music, but this is gold compared to the Sims music.

I love it. I've never played any Phoenix Wright games before, but I've listened to/loved all the soundtracks from the games.
And like Frustration Raptor said, this song has pretty similar instrumentation to the BGM from The Sims 2, which is a good thing since I've always enjoyed that soundtrack too.

Gotta agree about the piano, especially when it stays is even quarter notes, a little life there wouldn't hurt. It frankly sounds a bit like a placeholder for a proper melody instrument/singing. It's also impossible to not listen to it on headphones as it's so clearly separated to the right. On the other hand, the mechanical feel is actually perfect for the 01:00-01:22 section.
Ok that's a lot of whining about the piano.. Overall the track is pretty good. I definitely dig the feel-good vibe. Guitars are quite excellent!

Let me start off by saying that I'm a HUGE fan of all things Phoenix Wright so I was delighted to see a ReMix on the site (wish there were more).
This mix has a decidedly 90's flavor to it, probably because of the beats and the instruments used. I definitely get the "ending credits" vibe from the mix. If there's ever a PW anime series *crosses fingers* I can hear this being used during the credits (the guitar portion) or with dialogue overtop (the quieter sections). The intro is a little quiet and bland for my tastes, and I really start enjoying this mix after :37 when it picks up. Nice variation on the theme from the game, I like the subtle changes you made to the melody.
When that electric guitar comes in at 1:47, all I can think of is the opening song from Beverly Hills: 90210 with that lead guitar. I'm also getting a Smash Bros. Ending Credits feeling from it - when you complete something like Classic Mode with a character, how you get a remixed version of their "theme" - kind of like that electric guitar version of the SMB3 theme in Smash Bros. Melee.
I would love to see more Phoenix Wright mixes on the site. It seems to be underappreciated on here for such a beloved series.

Nice remix, i'm liking this :P
The first problem with this mix is the intro - that synth needs better EQing, its a little piercing.
When the drums fully kick in, I think that the piano could stand to be louder, not to mention that it sounds somewhat fake, especially when the 16th notes play a little over two thirds in.
Also I think that the guitar could use some vibrato, it sounds mechanical.
Still this is a great remix, and nice source too.
Good work over all :P

Hehe, well, what can I say, looks like I'm a sucker for motivational pop electronica just as badly as solo piano.
This is just a great piece all around, very upbeat. I like.

Haha! That's awesome Txai!
This song reminds me of an ending to a 90's feel-good movie. I don't why, it just does.
Nonetheless, it's a great upbeat track that puts a big'ol smile on my face. ^_^

Yeah, OA is pretty much a remixing god. This is uber-poppy; the bubblegum synths set a nice mood but it doesn't really kick in until the 90's-style guitar riffs kick in. That's when I REALLY get into the song. I agree with Willrock that the playing could use a bit more personality to it, but I think it fits alright as is.
I have no shame blasting this in my car :-P Sooo good, one of my faves from OA!

Very entertaining and upbeat, I love the energy in this ReMix. This is a great track to us while driving and it really does have that "end credits" feeling to it. Thoroughly enjoyed the downbeat starting at 2:30. It just has a lot of emotion that defines this mix as happy, and it spreads that happiness very well. Victory indeed!
