i double posted in the remix request section. I'm new here, so please be lenient.

Hey guys, i'm a newb here. I've been a DJ in the Baltimore, Washington DC Area for over 6.5 years now. I was listening to a lot of the remixes on the OC torrents and I would *love* to get these tracks setup on non stop mixes.

DJ Friendly means at least four 64 beat phrases leading up to the main body of the song. Then a similar outtro time frame, gradually stripping out the layers gradually. Ideally the intro/outro should equate to about 2 minutes to allow for very smooth transitions. This is pretty important to EDM djs that mix for a long while.

most of the tracks here are less than 3 minutes long and require really intense looping and song manipulation that would hamper the flow of the mix. I spin House, trance, breaks and D&B.

Here are some of my tracks.

bLiNd made a song that was supposed to be DJ friendly, but it only has a 32 beat intro. Not sure if that might work, but here you go:

You might want to check my mixes but most of the ones I have on the site arent't exactly club-friendly. Trancy nonetheless. Maybe this (http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01160/)?

You know, this would make an awesome site project.

Get 10+ people to make a mix and then you could put them all together like that. Blind would be a very good person to ask to help you out there, his trance is the shizzle.

Intro is ~25 seconds, 64 beats
Outtro is the same.

that would be some ***quick*** mixing but i can work with it.

I agree. i'm trying to find the right songs. I'm only 400+ into OC001 Pack. :( it takes time to go through these tracks, which i why i posted.

a LOT of great talent around here. I can't wait to make the first mix CD. imagine, non-stop mixed music. I'm an EDM dj and i love mixes more than stand alone tracks.

As long as all the tracks involved are official OC ReMixes, I could definitely see something like this being popular enough to warrant our hosting a torrent when it's done; cool idea.

You should probably check out Vectorman: Remixed (http://wagz.siamey.com/), bunch of good trance from the community up there. I dont think any of it's on OCR.

Thanks for the support guys. I had no time this weekend to work on this, though i did spend time going through some potential tracks. I'm going to have to edit a lot of tracks because there is little to no lead or end mix for the mixes. A lot end very strangely.

None the less i'll post a quick video of what i've done as well as an mp3 download. One major shortfall is that my source is MP3 so recompressing the mp3s will yield less quality. I'll aim for 320Kb/s AAC to maximize quality.

Once you choose the songs to use, try e-mailing the mixers to see if they have an uncompressed version lying around somewhere. I'm sure many of them would gladly lend them to you if they have them.

Request a FLAC version of their songs, if they can provide one.

I'd be in to make a DJ mix, but I only play mainly records so I cannot really mix with one CD player. And mixing by computer won't be a choice for me.

By the way, a year ago I requested if there are any mixes with VG music in a similar fashion. And nobody was able to tell the difference between a "mix" and a MIX. Go figure :-/

Good luck on this! I'd love to have a nonstop mix of OC remixes

I agree with what some people have said though-- if you find any you really like, you should contact that remixer and see if they can set up the intro and outro.

Here's the two songs I think of when I think intro. Both are probably meatier than what you're looking for:
Donkey Kong Country 'Chekan Winter' (http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01307/)
Tales of Phantasia 'Emotions Lostin Time' (http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01076/)

Thanks dude. Been very busy with listening to tracks and starting some editing to give me the freedom to do nice mixes, not just slam tracks and/or mash-ups.

Any other input would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, good luck with this Man!
As an amateur DJ myself, I've had this idea for quite some time.

May I recommend two ReMixes that for reasons forgotten are not on OCR?
FFMusicDJ - To Zanarkand (Hard Trance Mix) (http://digamejh.melankolly.com/online_storage/ToZanarkand_HardTrance.mp3) (from Final Fantasy 10)
Sir_NutS - Introduction to Heaven (http://digamejh.melankolly.com/online_storage/IntroductionToHeaven.mp3) (from Mega Man 7)

I'd love to help out however else I can...
