The remixing stage is over. And now, let's move on to the voting. What you do is you send me a PM and rank all the entries from first to eighth. Contenders don't need to place their own songs as they automatically get a first place vote. The vote for the winner of PRC87 (Sir Nuts) is doubled. You have until Tuesday, February 27th at 4:59AM EST to make your vote. The winner gets to choose the source material for PRC89!

The People's Remix Competition 88
PRCv4-10
Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! (www.doulifee.com/prc/PrcSong/PRCcommercial.wmv) PRC87's Spyro related competition had one of the most heated votes I've seen in weeks, yet through all the odds, Sir Nuts came through as the winner via turning to the funk genre for creating his entry.
So once again, we have a source tune from the king of palm trees, decided from what seemed like an entire Wednesday night of browsing through various source materials. We're still with disc systems, but this time we're going further back with what can arguably be seen as one of the best games on the Sega CD. That's unless you think RPGs are for geeks... >.>
http://bev.wooff.googlepages.com/prc88.jpg
Frankly, most of what I remember of Lunar:EB was the awesome art and movies that the game had, and some spots in the story, because I played the game a long time ago and rushed through it cuz it was a borrowed sega-cd.. oh well. This song is the overworld theme, and it was very hard deciding between this and something else I had in mind. Anyways I bet fans of good RPGs (and good music) will enjoy this choice.
Lunar: Eternal Blue - Field of Reaching for Tomorrow
MIDI (http://bev.wooff.googlepages.com/prc88.mid) | MP3 (http://bev.wooff.googlepages.com/prc88.mp3)
It's experiencing music like what I saw through there that actually makes me want to check out what else the Sega CD is capable of. That's on my list of "stuff to do before ghost-discing my computer". But yeah, I'll ramble about that later.
GOOD LUCK!

PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness.
There is no limit on entry format or file size, but length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed.
Entries must be posted in this thread by NEXT SATURDAY, February 24th at 4:59am Eastern US Time. Alternatively, you can also email your submissions over to submission@doulifee.com, though it would also help if you put forward a reminder in the thread.
You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix.
Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted.
The winner of the previous contest may not enter an eligible mix, but his/her vote will count double.
Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they receive a free first place vote added onto their score.

DAMN finally a source I really dig and this is not a good week time-wise. Hopefully I can come up with something.
Kudos on the awesome source tune selection.

No doubt, a seriously rocking tune. This really gets me back into the spirit of remixing. *remembers his last participation...PRC23...^_^'* Now just to see if I can work the time into making something around packing for Korea...

Yes! Amazing source. I just made a remix of this in about 45 mins - 1 hour which is probably a record for me, I just had some ideas. Anyway I'll probably enter into this prc considering I've done a remix of this.

Well, OneUp is undoubtedly going to beat me here, since he does this sort of thing better than I.
But to celebrate me getting a new mouse (Pocketman, I have put in work on my project piece) I'm entering this PRC with this http://www.tindeck.com/audio/image/b/2c8bh (http://www.tindeck.com/audio/my/2c8bh).

I've been very busy this week but I did finish my mix when I said I did. Just going to take a look tonight (GMT) and try and improve the production as much as possible. If I don't get it to a satisfactory level I'll still enter but it won't be the final version as I intend on getting the production as good as possible and then submitting it to OCR.
Also, when's the deadline in GMT?
In GMT, your time is 10AM on Saturday morning. I hope this is of some clarification.
Also, Bladiator's PRC81 entry just passed the judges panel and is now facing the long and tedious waiting process before it becomes available on the site. Attaboy Karl, you know we love you :D

Total number of voters - 11
Total number of mixes - 8
Highest Possible Score - 88
Chickenwarlord has once again achieved the last place wooden spoon with 24 points.
Chavous wasn't far behind in seventh place with 33 points.
TheoConfidor made his return to PRC through sixth place with 38 points.
Pocketman made a bold entry to fifth place with 51 points.
Andy Jayne chipped through to fourth place with 59 points.
Villainelle made her way into third place this time with 65 points.
OneUp only just squeezed past her as well as only just settling for second place with 66 points.
And the winner of PRC88 is Rexy with 67 points!
See? I wasn't kidding when the votes were THAT TIGHT. AGAIN. >.> But nonetheless, another PRC, another opportunity to find a source tune. I hope to get something ready for you by friday.
Well done on the turnout, all. I think we can come to the conclusion that Sir Nuts knows his source tunes pretty well. Nonetheless, I'll see you in a few days time with the thread for PRC89.

Tight races are great IMO, I think it means people are finding a lot to enjoy. Congrats to all, and gogo Rexy, pick a good one!
And there was me thinking that the Forbidden Donut would be next :p
I know how tight it was, and peoples' thoughts seem to differ a heck of a lot. Nonetheless, I thought really well of many of these entries, more notably yours and Andy's squabbling hard personally.

I wonder how many people even understood the title of mine. My votes were:
[1] Rexy - El Camino a Mañana
[2] Villainelle - Hold On To Now
[3] Pocketman - Lunar Mission
[4] Chavous - Far Too Lazy
[5] OneUp - Lunarstorm
[6] Chickenwarlord - Garnet Eclipse
[7] TheoConfidor - Overwhelmed With Beauty
Which is how I expected it to end up (although I was having trouble deciding between 3 and 4). I had thought I would place in the top 3 and really didn't expect OneUp to place that high, congrats.
It'd be interesting to see which 2 people actually voted in this PRC (other than sir nuts and the entrants).
Edit: Sir Nuts didn't vote apparently!
