The only problem is that the majority of Best Buy's don't actually have any of those games. I work at one, I checked a good portion of the really good ones on that list to see if any of the stores in our state had them. Nobody had any of them. Just a warning for those thinking they're going to go and get some killer deals ... chances are the store won't actually *have* any of those titles.

It's there, in the first few items on that list for $1.99 (CUB = Gamecube).

So rumor has it they may be gathering all these items to put in a bin tomorrow morning. If that's the case, you may want to get there as soon as Best Buy opens, although I am skeptical of that being the case.

Well, it's a little bit of a mystery whether we'll be able to price match or not. The reason for this sale is a clearance on games they no longer get shipments of, yet it is labeled as a "permanent mark down." Best Buy's customer service section says:

"What if I find a lower price at another Best Buy store or on BestBuy.com?

If an item you purchased at Best Buy is advertised at a lower price at another Best Buy store in your local area or on BestBuy.com within 30 days of your original receipt purchase (14 days for select categories*), we will refund you 100% of the price difference. Simply bring in your original Best Buy receipt to the customer service counter while that lower price is still in effect. Clearance items, open-box items or Web-exclusive offers advertised on BestBuy.com are not eligible for price matching."

Therefore, they have a way out if they decide that they are losing way too much money on it.

Also, many speculate that the marked-down items were pulled from the shelves this weekend (based on the sudden lack of quantity of these games before the deal broke to the public), and they will probably have some sort of "clearance bin" in the front with all of these games on Monday.

In conclusion, buying the games this weekend to price match on Monday might not work because of technicalities and lack of supply.

Actually, I don't think it's on clearance. Mega Man X Collection is, but not the original Anniversary Collection. (I know, I'm bummed, too.) I actually haven't seen the MMAC at my Best Buy in about six months, so I wasn't really counting on it anyway.

I called my store and they said that clearance items were eligible for price matching, so your results may vary, I suppose.

And I went down to my Best Buy but as all these games are relatively old they didn't have any of the decent ones in stock. Hopefully stores with a large game department will be different, so I wish all you luck.

Yeah it really depends on your area. Some areas have most of these games in stock I hear, but never near whereever I am so I never bother. In fact I happened to be in Best Buy earlier today to buy printer ink and I only saw GTA San Andreas there of those on the list.

I second this statement for any Xbox DDR games, and also DDR Extreme 2 for Ps2. Also for Psychonauts, Ninja Gaiden, and the 9.99 Ltd Halo2.


As for recommendations for anyone else, besides the obvious BG&E, if you've never played a katamari game, for the love of god, buy it for $2.

In any case, most of these games are hard to find anyway. You can't find Advance Wars DS that easily now. And honestly--there may have been one copy of the Collector's Edition of Elder Scrolls laying around in one store in a remote city and that's the only way it made the list.

Yeah. I had a friend who used to work at Circuit City and it's the same there too. But whatever may be the case, there's never any games at the Best Buy or Circuit City in my town. I doubt it would be different if I go to a location in Manhattan. From the looks of it, I don't think anyone is having any luck. =(

PS2 - 1.99 - DBZ Budokai - I played it before and enjoyed it.
PS2 - 4.99 - Shadow the Hedgehog - I've seen the bad reviews, but I wanted to see it for myself.
PS2 - 1.99 - The Bible Game - I just couldn't resist. It got better reviews than Shadow :razz:.
PS2 - 9.99 - Megaman X Collection - They didn't have it for 1.99 on GCN, but I was willing to pay 9.99 for this.
NDS - 1.99 - Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects - *shrugg* Another DS game?
GBA - 1.99 - Namco Museum - Cheap time killer.
GCN - 1.99 - Spongebob Squarepants movie - A gift for a friends birthday.
NDS - 1.99 - Spongebob: The Yellow Avenger - Same as above.

Even though I got there at around 30 minutes after opening, I was one of the first people there and luckily I wasn't interested in any of the games that were picked over already. This one guy had about 25 games in his basket.

I also had a gift card and picked up Diablo II at Target. So total, I spent about 33 Dollars for 9 games, not too shabby.

So I went back and checked behind every row, and ended up scoring Nightshade, Siren, Front Mission 4, and BG&E. 11 bucks. And then I played the Kill Bill theme in DDR SuprNova on their plasma TV setup.

The Best Buy in my area had those stupid boxes with the $9.99 games, but no other markings for anything else, plus the PS2 area was wiped clean. And there were no areas for X-box/360 or GC. So that pretty much sucked.

Well, technically it's not a clearance - I haven't heard of any cases where someone got denied, but also even if you get screwed, just return them and rebuy them on the spot. Either way, it's a 0 risk situation.

I was able to find three copies of Virtua Fighter 4: EVO at my local Best Buy for $2/per. I bought two of them (one for a friend) and also got NHL2K6 for $5.
