Does anyone know where I can get some at least slightly realistic acoustic guitars? Fruity loops doesn't have any good ones at all.

Guitar is very hard to pull of synthetically. There's no "awesome" set of samples that sound great automatically, you need to put loads of effort into sequencing even the best sets. Your better off getting someone to record some real ones for you.

Vitrual Guitarist is bad ace but as with most things it costs a good amount of money. Search online for a dude named SSH he does music with virtual guitarist. Besides that you would have to get really good at sequencing specifically for guitar. As always though the real thing is always the best and there are plenty of guitarists on OCR who would be willing to help.

ProTrax Classical Guitar soundfont. Best free acoustic guitar IMO.

Here's the issue: what makes a guitar sound like a guitar has far less to do with tone than with dynamics. The world's best samples will sound like shit without the proper dynamics. Pitch bends, slides, fret squeaks, these are all the things that make acoustic guitars sound so wonderfully organic; it has astonishingly little to do with tone.

I think I got a sound font I want but how do I make it a plug in? It's in .sf2 format right now.

find a soundfont player, if you have fl studio it has a soundfont player (need the XXL version for the non-demo soundfont player) Just open up the soundfont player, then there is another button in there that will allow to search through your folders for the soundfont (sf2) you want to use.

I've been working on it for a while now, but I can't seem to get the sound of a realistic acoustic guitar down. I understand how a guitar works, but I can't seem to nail it. Anyone have any advice?

Acoustic guitar is one of the hardest things to simulate through sequencing. Picked or plucked CAN be done, but it's quite difficult and requires a shit load of attention to detail and extensive first-hand knowledge of both the guitar, and your sequencer. Strumming, or rhythmic accompaniment on the other hand... well good luck with that. I've been trying for 6 years and I can still hardly fake it. If you truly know the inner workings of a guitar, from there it's a matter of translating what you do on a guitar to your sequencer-- down to every minute detail.

Also, Virtual Guitarist is a copout. And SSH does NOT use it. At least not in the songs I've heard.
