Sonic the Hedgehog 2 'Trippin on Ecstacy'

You listen to the first 40 seconds of this piece, and you're thinking to yourself, "well, this might be Ecstacy, but I'm definatly not Trippin." Then suddenly things wind up and you say to yourself "oh. Well I'm glad I didn't say that out loud." (Yes, yes. Like I just did.) I normally dislike faded endings. This is because I'd rather have the music let me off at the next stop rather then the volume, but I think I'll let that slid just this once because the meat of this mix really kicks. Excellent work, PxFury, hope to hear more.

Hey.... this aint manure!
Very polished and good use of the instruments! I particulary like the
"trancey" lead! Salivating stuff! Dont let the somewhat misleading
intro put you off, this is - indeed- trippinī...

HOLY SH*T! 8O

This mix is great! I, like I'm sure a lot of people did, was expecting something slower based on the beginning, but then PxFury switched it up into a helluva techno piece. Now I'm not to big on techno, but I am big on Sonic and I know what I like, and I LOVE this! Good stuff, PxFury!

Keep an eye of the world around you and grow.

He will go somewhere in time. You keep watching and listening. You will someday know what I mean.

First of all, I think PxFury's constant request for opinions, suggestions and ideas were healthy for this ReMix.

I gave the beta version of this jam a listen when he sent it to me a few weeks ago and noticed allot of improvement to the final release which OC Remix was recently blessed with.

That goes to show the power of the question, and how it helped all of us to achieve our current skill level in the aural arts.

Kudos to RxFury, I hope to see more work from him down the line!

This IS a good Remix and I am somewhat impressed. It wasn't all I expected but its good. It also wasn't the type of remix I would expect for a boss (but i won't take off points for that). 8.5/10

Sounding great, my only real complaint is that it should have been longer! Apart from that, it's awesome! This is definately going on a CD!

This is just an amazing remix (if a little short)
For DJ's: It's good to start a mix with.

For everyone else: It's good. Period.

Hah! I just realized that I'd been listening to this remix for 1 hour! That's not bad considering I like switching to new songs every chance I get....... I recommend this remix

edit - I like how the beats kick in with a ferocity befitting a Sonic game

Hmm. Nice, but not SUPER nice. Maybe I just judge rave's a little harder, but this song didn't give me the super-pumped rave feeling I usually get from raves like 'String Machine' (*drool*) and 'JENOVAD'. Still, it's a lovely, little Sonic piece. I give it a 7.

this is one sweet song
reminds me back in the days when sonic graphics were the best i had ever seen.

Very good, but it just needs some actual drums, and not just a 'thump' in the background.

Well now I am a fan of the old Sonics since I was about 4, and Sonic 2 was my first game ever. Personally, I like Sonics music, even most people dont. This is a gret song, it is smooth and I had a great time remembering the melody. The only real bad thing about it is the fact that it is too melodic and too soft to be a boss fight song. I like it anyway though.

A beautiful remix, this is among my favorites. Really, both of PxFury's remixes are outstanding... smooth and clean, it's the kind of stuff that you can just stream together and listen to for a good long while without realizing it.

Well I have had this Mix Downloaded for quite some time, but haven't posted my thoughts. It's so funny cause it reminds me of my best friends and I driving Downtown to a party (by the way we all love this song) anyways, as were driving it was beautiful night few clouds, the moon shining bright, and all of us TRIPPING OUT HARDCORE 8O 8O 8O . HAHAHA this is such a great mix, it made all of use feel like we were out in space driving. When a song can make me imagine a visualize something and actually see it happening it gets my approval 100%. and by the way it was a long drive that we had. 8) I'm out!!!!!

:D I would like to say, PxFury, you did a great job! Congrats! It had a very nice beat to it, not to mention blending the chorus with the first part! The piano used was very smooth and just drains you out of this world (Well, it might not do that, but it was cool)! Just to make you happy, I have sent a remix of this song as well and should be posted on this web site in the next 6 weeks because I just submitted it, so I figured I'd make you happy by telling you. :D It is rather cool to say I listen to your song almost everything time I'm on my school bus going to and from school. Overall - 8.513428746 out of 10

8O I've always been a big fan of the sonic games up until the megadrive/genesis died, This piece happened to be one of my personal faves. I've always considered the the boss music good material to make hard trance from and you've done just that! EXCELLENT!

I liked this original piece on Sonic the Hedgehog 2 back in the early 90's. And this track has made it better without taking away its original......feeling......i guess, lol. Brilliant 10/10 :D

Another one of my Favorite Remixes, I liked the boss beat in Sonic 2 Originally but this one makes it even better. Good Job.

Hell's yeaah!! PxFury brings back old memories with this trippy, dance song

At 1:00 the ecstacy finally kicks in then at 1:36 theres that ol' familiar melody which I love!

I'ld say this song almost feels laid back but its also heavy at the same time

Awesome remix, Px! Reminds me so much of the times when I'ld speed run through the sonic games

Hehe.. Reminds me of the first time I was about to face Dr. Robotnik. I was calm at first, then I heard his tune in the background.. What I'm trying to say, and not doing a good job at it, is that it has different stages of emotion in this remix and makes them sound GREAT! You gotta do more like this PxFury!

This'll probably sound kinda stupid, but here it goes.

While listening to this song, I couldn't help but wonder why the piano was in there at the beginning. Then the image of Gerald Robotnik teaching Julian/Julias...can't remember Eggman's first-name  how to play the piano.

Fast-forward about ten years, and Eggman is a DJ at a rave, playing the very song he learned from his grandfather.

The other theory I had about the song was that perhaps while Robotnik was in a club, he was popping some E, and had delusions of grandeur, so he started creating and building, unaware that he wasn't as great as he thought he was. In comes Sonic, who ruins his plans :)

About the remix, though. I think its very nicely done, and definatly one of my favorites on here.

Absolutely amazing.
Seriously, this reminds me of those flashback videos. The video in my head is something like...
*Robotnik finally is going to die. That's the piano bit. Then, he remembers when it first began. On with the flashbacks, the illusions of grandeur, the pain, the tears, the memories... The the piano bit comes back and Robotnik dies.*
Sometimes I have the "Robotnik playing piano then goes to club and makes a rave song" video, but mostly it's the flashback one.
I'm a sucker for songs like this. I haven't meant one I didn't like yet.

WOW that remix is AWESOME! I have been playing sonic games for a very long time and I think that it is one of the better mixes I have heard from sonic.

I heard this song eight years ago, before I even knew about ocr or that people even remixed video game music. This is a fantastic mix!!!!! It brings back great memories.

a pretty good mix, with some nice synths and piano work- the sounds are a bit generic, but they work well to tell the story of the rise and fall of DJ Robotnic. Nice panning on the bloopy synths, and though the track suffers a bit from the cut-and-paste work on the sections, and the overly fast ending, it's still a pretty fun track.

Very nice stuff going on here. Slow piano opening, faster electronic midsection, solid ending. Not really much more to ask for in a good ReMix. Sounds more like a flashback theme than a battle theme, but I'm cool with that considering how good it sounds. I do think it kinda does end a bit faster than one might expect with how it flows, but still, sounds great.
