Bumping because more people need to download this and make sexy comments on it.

Seriously, this is very worth your time to listen to at LEAST once. I've got this burned and in my car CD changer now. Thankfully I replaced my stock speakers with stuff that doesn't suck because these tracks kick HAAARRRD.
And if you have subs you'll probably have a Beatdropgasm.

Not many people are going to look for a full album release in WiPs, I wouldn't think. (I certainly didn't.)

I'd think that this music, as well as Zircon's, SGX's and many other artists ought to find a good recording company and put their albums up for sale in stores like HMV and whatnot.
I know this is rather naive of me (because it probably costs alot of money), but it may be worth it in the long run.
You'd attract wayy more people, also it may help to further promote VG music awareness.
Anyways, these CD's kicks some major ass, go make money off of it Beatdrop, you've earned it ;)

I'll donate some money once I get a new job (don't worry it won't take too long). Good Luck in the future man.

Unfortunately getting physical distribution is very tough. You need to print a lot of copies first, which is very expensive... 1000 CDs with inserts, full color printing, shrink wrap, bar code (etc) can cost nearly $2000 after shipping and taxes. And you will need a lot more than that if you want to get in all the major stores nationwide. Then, consider that most distributors and retailers won't even talk to you unless you're a major label or have some significant credentials. Plus you would need to promote the albums on the radio, TV, in magazines, newspapers, and other forms of media simply to get the name out there - how often do you buy random CDs from artists you never heard of in a store with thousands upon thousands of CDS? Unsigned indie artists like us don't have a chance in the traditional world.

The best we can do is go by word of mouth and promote online, but of course, there are hundreds of thousands of people doing the same thing, so it's a little grim... you guys (fans) are truly our strongest asset.

HoboKa
07-10-2007, 09:02 PM
Actually I'm a music buff so I buy tons of random music that's not really popular in the media brain-dead culture of today (curse you MTV!!) - although I do like mainstream heavy metal too.

And it's not totally grim, I blare your guys' music in my car, that's gotta count for something ;-). Plus, you've got lots of fans.

Actually I'm curious how much do you make annually (from your music)?

Beatdrop
07-11-2007, 03:24 AM
Hahaha. That's funny.

Uhhhh... on average? Or...

Well, let's just put it this way:

In my 6.5 years of music production and internet distribution of said music, I have made about...

$1150

Give or take maybe $20.

And over a $1000 of that was made just this year, thanks to Konami for licensing one of my songs for DDR.

HoboKa
07-11-2007, 07:10 AM
there you have it ;-) not grim at all then :D.

I know i shouldn't do that and I know i should stop crying but.........

OMG the downloads are dead my life makes no moresense ......... sobsobsob.

I just came to the idea that maybe Beatdrop could have done something else than videogame ReMixes and was so happy then i discovered that he released some own albums. Then the horror. Nothin is working. I searched everywhere. I also raped google for at last 2 hours.

This is my 1st post and I'm looking like a total leeching ***hole.

But I'm begging you I'm so addicted to his music.

Maybe anyone can help me or suggest what i could do or try next.....

thx in advance

I pulled the free downloads after awhile because I saw no justification in leaving them up permanently when people are ranting and raving about how awesome it is.

So alternatively (and I'm surprised your Google search turned up no results), you can purchase both discs of the album on a track-by-track basis for $.99 a song over at my broadjam page, which can be found here:

actually i searched a free download over google......(damn leeching sickness).
but i think your work is actually worth the 20 bucks

EDIT

sobsobsob u need a credit card to buy songs at Broadjam.........
where in the name of god should i get a freakin credit card?
(i know where to get but in the moment i'm just really pissed of and i don't wanna buy sth. with a credit card since i just started my job)

But its okay I had at least the chance to listen to the songs.

Could get a PayPal card. Works like a Visa, but pulls directly from PayPal. All you do is sign up for one, load money into your PayPal account from your checking account, and then use the card like a credit card. It's a good trade-off. Or just open a checking account at some place that gives you an ATM/Check/Debit card. That should also work the same way.

Of course I extend my thanks to those who DID donate. But the fact of the matter was that it just didn't really work out quite as planned. This thread has 5,700+ views, meaning the album was downloaded PLENTY of times, and I got about $30 total in donations... soooo... yeah. Thought it was time to take a new approach. :)

Broadjam seems to only accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
I didn't find anything about PayPal or the Paypal sign on the side.
But dude don't overdo it. If i can't get your stuff thats ok. I'll just catch up on your next album. You are working on it right now, aren't you? Some titles are on myspace and its called "Revolution" or am I wrong?

Beatdrop
02-03-2008, 01:45 AM
Nope, you're correct. It's coming along, slowly but surely. Looks to be a pretty... ENERGETIC album. And "Revolution" is the tenative title, really. I have a few others I'm tossing around in my brain.

EDIT: Oh, and PayPal cards are run by MasterCard, so they're good most places that take credit cards in general.

Okay, this is gonna be a rather large bump, but I don't suppose the lyrics are available to some of the songs? In particular, the words to Tinderbox... I can't make them out clearly, and I'm not entirely sure it's all words even...

Beatdrop
07-24-2008, 02:52 PM
Wow, yeah, hella large bump. But it's all good :D Especially with me. Didn't think this thread was even on the boards still, but I guess things are slow going in the WIP boards.

"Tinderbox":

You're my
You're my
You're my
You're my
You're my
You're my tinderbox

[Repeat]

Archaic mystic
Toxic technic
Styptic ethic
Lovesick tactic
Photic gothic
Scenic psychic
Karmic music
Epic traffic

Disastrous fullness
Mindless focus
Faithless goddess
Mirthless venus
Leaseless nexus
Nameless virus
Voiceless temptress
Needless menace

Crimson vixen
Pagan vision
Sodden omen
Hidden marksman
Shotgun session
Chosen fission
Barren nation
Solution stricken

[Chorus]
You're my tinderbox
My triggered tripwire
Just one spark
And you ignite my fire

You're my
You're my
You're my
You're my
You're my
You're my tinderbox

[Repeat]

Hateful gospel
Forceful sparkle
Fragile puzzle
Thermal satchel
Vigil kestrel
Total neutral
Glacial needle
Tonal angel

Vulcan cannon
Frozen demon
Poison reason
Asian ruin
Risen dragon
Heightened motion
Broken haven
Urban siren

Fairer creature
Fire eater
Fervor mortar
Minor fluster
Harder, sleeker,
Meaner, faster,
Smarter, cleaner,
Finer, stronger

[Chorus]

"Trip The Breaker":

Behind my eyes I'm clawing at the tissue
I keep my sight switched off so I can miss you
How do I feel now that I have these issues?
My mind still works and one thought: that I miss you

But now that it works I don't even think I know you
Clarity engulfs like light, drowned in full view
Close my eyes once again, back to one hue
Black as the darkest night, reminds me of you

[repeat]

Open up my eyes to the light
And it takes her
Synapses burst under pain
And under pressure

Take my last bit of will and lay to sunder
Allow my apathy to boil and render
From herself I no longer will defend her
Cleansed of emotion I'm now thinking clearer

Burn through my flesh with the heat of a Solar
Radiate with light intense enough to trip the breaker

"Unrest":

Not tired
Or wired
From the words
That I heard
Something stirred
And now I hurt
Waiting for
Disclosure

Can you see
What I mean
That I mean
To be here
You've suffered
I suffer
But now can't
Shed a tear

I wait in
This unrest
True wording
From my chest
Put me to
The one test
To prove it's
For the best

Here you've been
Unnoticed
For what feels
The longest
Idle by
My lenses
While you're brought
In focus

[Repeat, faster]
