View Full Version : Changing time signature mid-song?
In my current mix, the time goes into sections of 4/4 and 3/4. As far as I have been able to see, FL can only do one time signature. I would just stick in 4 and do a faux 3 but that doesn't line up properly with the ends of the measures in most instances and leaves gaps of silence. Any way to change?

go to a new pattern for the 3/4 section, and change the beats per bar indicator that's on the top left of the channels box to 3...it should look like -- to begin with.

Yes, that way is the only way I think
you can also do parallell different time signatures for a trippy rhythmic experience
I don't think "trippy rhythmic" goes well with orchestral, though :(
The change # of beats for individual patterns option is helpful, but it doesn't affect the playlist, which would be the source of your annoying gaps. Note however that you can start patterns on the playlist not just at the beginning of a bar, but anywhere you choose. Change the increment from "line" to "beat" and move patterns over correspondingly to eliminate gaps, when alternating between 4/4 and 3/4.

hahaha, so true, if it does mix well with orchestral stuff, then can I have what that person is smoking? :P
