Wild Arms 'Dové L'Amore'

I must confess, I have never liked Wild Arms music. It allways reminded me of corny western movies, and the horrors of my childhood whatching Fievel Goes West. But since DJ Crono went and turned the theme into a hip hop beat, I can bouce to that. Yes folks, DJ Crono went and did it again, another french Rap, with a kick ass reflection of the original song. I knew this dude was hot when I heard his first song, and I'm so very glad he keeps coming back to make sure he's proven that. Amazing remix, DJ Crono, certainly don't stop now.

Like DJCrono's first ReMix, this one isn't quite my taste as far as the genre of music. But everything about the way it's remixed is unique and makes it well worth the download. What I like a lot is that DJCrono does his own lyrics. With the first remix, I wasn't as disappointed as some that it wasn't his voice singing. Nonetheless, it does add to it when it's original in every aspect (except the source material of course). Nicely done, and a recommended download.

coool :D

amazing

great..

creative

new

3d surround sound O.O

slight funny accent when DJ Crono says "are immortal" :P

but doesn't spoil it :D

"You want the mic back.. gimme the mic back"

oh yeah >_<

ps: I always loved that particular theme.. nice to hear a variation of it at last :)

The drums and effects the the songs beginng are amazing.. I keep looking around the room not sure where the sound source came from :D

and near the end there are those mysterious, echoey synth vocals that come in adding a nice touch over Crono's rappin :)

creative stuff :)

Nice to see Wild Arms getting some more recognition. Too bad I don't really care for this mix, but hey it's not supposed to be everyone's cup of tea. Sounds good, love the music, could care less for the lyrics, although I guess it would sound empty without them.

Good work.

Werd to DJ Crono for doing yet another excellent job. Hey man, was it me who asked you to do more Wild Arms remixes? I've been asking several people about them, and even decided to work on a few of my own as well. Those're in the works also ^_^

Good stuff! I really liked the wailing vocal fills - a very nice touch. It's nice to hear remixes that expand upon the original musical theme rather than try to change it.

I'm looking forward to the next mix...

Dear Jaroban,

What song were YOU listening too? Dove' L'Amore? Thanks for your review and constructive critisism........I guess. Let me elaborate on the subject:

1. I had TWO intros, back to back, maybe you didn't notice. The first one is 00:00 - 00:10. The second one is quicker and more of a wrap up, that leads into the main verse going from 00:11 - 00:21. They're perfect matches of the original soundtrack, which....I own. That's how I was able to get the notes. I kept rewinding, and playing, rewinding and playing. Next

2. If you remember correctly, the intro the real song is only one instrument, the nylon guitar, I had a guitar, strings, bass, and drums, how's that weak? But, you're intitled to your opinion.

3. The original ending from the game, since you like comparing everything to the original, end the same way the song begins, if you remember correctly, the Whistle, right? Okay. My song has the big build up with the electric guitar and all, then dies down to just the drum and the analog synth. Then stops just like the "Original".

4. That whole Dmin/C/Dmin.........what? Man, you're getting technical, but I don't worry about chords. I just play. Call it unorthadox, but I get the job done. It's a remix remember. I can't remember if I used the real notes or not, but who cares? You can tell it's Wild Arms intro, and that's what counts.

But really, thanks for the constructive critisism. You should make one too, you seem to have all these good ideas and suggestions for me :D

Wow.
I gotta say right from the start that I've never heard the Wild Arms music, so I can't make any judgement on how it sounds in relation to the original, then again, perhaps this gives me a more unbiased viewpoint.

This ReMix is amazing, I was addicted to DJ Crono's first piece, and it seems as though this is DJ Crono taking the unique style he created and refining the way he does it. The lyrics sound much better, not that I had any complaints with the original, but these are much more... meshed with the piece, much more developed. It still has a very rappy feel and still makes me want to keep it on repeat until I'm sick of it.

I can see myself trying to learn the lyrics and singing along soon. This is a really great mix, I expect more great things from DJ Crono in future. No pressure, really. :D

As an afterthought, I love the shameless self promotion, "Viva la, viva la, viva la DJ Crono." I think I might be inclined to agree.

Jaroban

I liked this mix a lot. Here are some of the things I liked:

1. Your samples were really well chosen and they complimented each other very nicely.

2. The balance was very good, the drums were not overbearing, which is great.

3. I liked your creativity, your rhythmic reinterpretation of the melody really fit the new style of the song well.

4. The vocals were well-conceived and they sounded good. I only caught a few of the spanish phrases so I'm not sure how clever they were but they sounded good musically ;)

My review before was a bit out of line, so I apologize. This is really one of the better mixes I've heard on here, because I could really tell you're using your head and being creative with it. I guess because of this I thought I'd offer up some critiques and try and help you along the way; unfortunately my critiques were entirely based on personal tastes which is stupid, because obviously everyone's tastes are different. In retrospect I realized that I wouldn't want to see a review like that on one of my mixes.

All in all you did a nice job so congrats. I'm new to this reviewing thing so I hope you'll accept my apologies.

Look forward to hearing more from you in the future!

Now, I'll be honest when I say I really don't like rap, or hip-hop, or any of the subgenres. The genre itself is, well, rather 'meh' to me, and I never found any interest in it. Maybe it's because the lyrics, more often than not, favor violence over anything else, and that's not exactly a message I like to listen to. If I want that, I'll bloody turn on CNN. However, DJ Crono, in all his works, has done a beautiful job in sensibly mixing what was formerly just videogame soundtrack into a very listenable, very different genre. Out of all his mixes, though, this one happens to be my favorite.

The mix itself is very polished, and I have no idea the terminology of music, but I can safely say that even my usually picky ears have found a place for DJ Crono, and that's saying a LOT, because that's usually saved for only the VERY best (or atleast in my opinion). Not only that, but to have the ability to make someone who doesn't traditionally like the genre enjoy what they're hearing despite their prejudice towards the particuliar type of music is something that shouldn't be overlooked, and despite any disinterest in rap or hip-hop you might have, I do highly suggest you pick this remix up and have a listen.

The only criticism I might have for it is that the vocals are a little too low, but that might be because I have bad ears =D

jeah, I know this is a late reply but...

You have an expression there on your face that's like a mix between "woah, you listenin' to me? I see you." and something out of like GM (or Zoolander (Owen Wilson)).

Please don't take that seriously, I'm only joking.

I like this piece...dont get me wrong. But I am definately not a fan of hip-hop, but this piece wasn't drowned in the genre so thats only a minor implication. If it wasn't for that, I bet this song would be one of the sexiest songs in existance. Good work.

I'm sorry alfador, but I really have to shoot your post down.
Not only are you doing a horrid job of explaining yourself, you are knocking on one of my favorite remixers of all time, not just limited to this site, this song is exquisitely done, every aspect of it. The original song was one of my favorite game tracks ever, and I was initially skeptical of any kind of remix to it, if it aint broke, why fix it?
then I downloaded and saw that compared to the remix, the original was indeed quite broke. The beat is fantastic, and totally flows with the song. The lyrics are soulful and intelligent, they are unhurried and resonate with the accents of the keyboard/synth, everything flows together to create an utterly beautiful song that seems to be timeless, the cd its on hasn't come out of my car yet. Everything seems purposeful and adds to the song, the best example is the naming of colors around 2:10, it just sounds so fantastic, everything really comes together in this track. This is one of the few songs that I feel like it was written to speak to me, its so beautiful, it just utterly captures the feel of the game, somewhat meloncholy, with a feeling of despair, but an underlying theme of hope reborn and determination.. its a song that just seems to scream into my soul, I love it.
Sorry if it seems a little deep, but I've been writing papers all night and am still in college student mode.. but either way, thank you dj crono for an incredible song

Je ne suis pas fan de rap non plus mais Dj Crono fait un très bon boulot sur ce genre de music. d'ailleurs le Eres de point m'avait marqué pour les paroles en français.

I can't say I enjoyed this too much. This genre doesn't really appeal to me, and I think the melody is too buried in the mix. But I will say DJ Crono has an ear for music. The sequencing done on this mix is very good work.

OT: DJ Crono, I know you've been promoting your original work here and there. :P I did check them out, and while I think the vocals could be better. The music you make for your intended genre is spot on. I do really like your keyboard 'backing' parts. I also find your originals to be mesmerizing. You don't have subliminal messages in there, do you? ^_^

Like I said, although your style is not really my thing, I can definitely see your creative abilities. Good work.

D00d! I never heard of this song until now... and i hate to say this, cause i've been listening to DJ Crono ALL night, trying to decypher your lyrics, but anyway, this may be your best song yet. I am a little partial to your Ammon's Legend remix,

yet another masterpiece from the great Dj Crono! I have never ever thought of doing anything such as remixing game music or even other kinds of music. It never really crossed my mind (maybe also because i lack the talent)...but hearing YOUR music, has like changed my life forever! I wish i asked to a 'remixing kit' or something when i was 10 at least and learnt to play a whole bunch of instruments and be able to make somethin as good as this (which is like impossible...you are like the Beethoven or Mozart of Remixing!)

Pure genius really! I hope you never stop this wonderful thing you do...
It would be a real honour too meeting you in person or somethin...id like ask for your autograph!
Seriously the music nowadays isnt all that great, sometimes you wanna give up! But then you look at anime ost's, and the regular check on OCRemix and you have pretty much everything you need...thanks to awesome artists like you!

Keep it up bro!

I'm still looking for a DJ Chrono mix that doesn't tempt me to open the review with "wow".

First, I have to thank the DJ for choosing a language I understand.

That comment made, this mix strikes a great balance between hip-hop and Spanish love song. That's a hard thing to do, and DJ Chrono pulls it off beautifully. The fact that, at one point, the song switches to English is handled with notable skill.

The placing of the vocal samples is perfect. They all seem to make sense, with the possible exception of "Viva la DJ Chrono," which still serves the purpose of adding Chrono's signature flare to this mix.

Keep 'em comin' Chrono!

This song...isnt just a song. Its beyond words to describe. Ever have an obsession with a song and you listen to it over and over for hours? This one has that quality. Its so intoxicating.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this song. It is an amazing song. If this is really you singing, then i may respect this song more than any other here. Anyone can make a synthy techno beat, but it takes real skills to write lyrics and sing them. My favorite part of this is the harmonized skribbling "gijja gijja" it sounds like. This is some beautifully haunting stuff from Jovette that never seems to fail in catching me off guard. I fall in love with the dark and lonely sound every time, each time unexpectedly. It's a total surprise because I'm not a big supporter of this type of vocal performance, and I generally think that lyrics in a mix used to convey anything but fun, comedic material come of as wanky. However, this is absolutely one of the big exceptions. I may not have any idea what is being said half the time, but damn, it works.
I've always liked layered vocal elements in music, and while this is perhaps more subtle than some other examples I could name, it's definitely effective nonetheless.
I'm really adamant to get behind this mix and shine a little light on it. For being unique, stylish and the darkest kind of pleasure, it deserves anything but getting lost in the shuffle. A very remarkable mix, for me.

I'm not 100% sure on the lead synth, but the rest of this is super stylin'. Great layering, and the beats are very nice. All the lyrics and different vocal parts are great, and add a very unique feel to the song. Great BBQ background music, I really like it.
