OVERCLOCKED REMIX CHESS TOURNAMENT
JUNE 2007
For those of you who remember the June 2006 tournament, this will be the ultimate revival. Even though my interest is certainly waning, I'd like to recommit to OCR Chess. I think that this was one of our most successful tournaments last year, and it'd certainly be nice to see something like it happen again...so, here are the rules:
TO JOIN, post your AIM screen name in this thread.
Registration ends Sunday, June 10th @ 13:43:40 Pacific Time.
Wins = 3 pts, Draws = 2 pts, Losses = 1 pt.
10/15 clocks, one game only, color is irrelevant.
PHASE ONE - ENDS Sunday, June 17th @ 13:43:40 Pacific Time.
"Round-Robin," play everyone else ONCE.
PHASE TWO - ENDS Sunday, June 24th @ 13:43:40 Pacific Time.
"Round-Robin," involving the top 5 or 6 players from Phase One.

GOOD LUCK!
HAVE FUN!

I've usually been pretty good about getting my games done, so I'm sorry I said I would play this last month and proceeded to barely be around. I hope I'll do better this time. I probably won't be able to play much when I'm in China since my sleep schedule will be opposite everyone else's. (But maybe I'll play Dr. Wily.)

I'll be the "new blood" I guess. I used to be pretty good, especially at blitz, but I haven't played in almost a year now. So count me in.

Kelvin?
I plan to get first! At least in the top 3. This seems achievable... for once...

Victory vs. Nemitor. Pawns can be the most brutal pieces on the board sometimes.

I saw the rook. And thought.
Then I moved the queen. In the path of the rook.
Then he took the queen, then he took everything else, since the queen was holding my entire defense together. It was almost like I subconciously let him wipe out my entire defenses, and gave him my queen.
It was terrible.

Bahamut wins vs Dama
damathacus
06-21-2007, 06:01 AM
Update: dama continues to hold the lead, with more than twice as many points as the next leading player, and an equal number of points to the rest of the players added together, excluding his nearest competition. He's held this position for over a week now, and the competition appears to be quickly drawing to a close.
Is it not time for the finals now?

The round was supposed to have ended on Sunday. I've been waiting for the word from kelvin to see if I'm included in the second round and if so, actually play some more games.

Yeah I'll give you guys a second round sometime this weekend (I've been busy, not interested in chess, and other things).
Both of you are almost certainly in the second round.

you probably will.
If any of you are pissed off at me for saying that, redirect your anger to your bracket opponents.
I predict a double-elimination tournament upcoming.

By the way, I'm gonna be gone for the Canada Day weekend. I'll be leaving tomorrow night, but not 'til 10 or 11 pm, and I'll be back Monday night. I hate to go out of town when so many people will be lined up to not play me, but what are you gonna do?

Damn, I forgot about this...I'm going to be out for the whole weekend for VGL though, so no chess till Monday night for me.

Alright, makes sense for you guys.
I'm going to start a double elimination tournament now, but it'll have a registration phase.
