So I have a welder that needs 220.
The only 220v outlet in the house in for the dryer. the prongs on the cords look Different. and I bought a Dryer cord.
My question is Could I attach the prongs for the dryer cord I bought to the welder, and would it work fine?

If you want to do it safely, I would suggest putting in another 220 breaker and put in a proper socket for the welder.

Lack of safety also = you getting busted by 220v
Also im pretty sure it would be against any sort of housing code to rig a setup like that.

other then a few building code violations.....safety = not having 60 amps pumped through your body killing you good. And really, you should be able to get a 220v breaker, socket and enough wire to run where you nee for 20-30 bucks
