Zelda 3 argh

Hi

I've gotten stuck in Zelda 3. Here's where I'm at:

How do I get to the locked door on top? I have a key, but I don't know how to get past the chasm. There's nothing to hookshot at, I can't jump, and it doesn't appear to be possible to fall down from the ceiling. Also, if I get across, how do I get back??

I am pretty sure you can push one of the stones to modify the hole pattern.

None of the stones can be pushed, as that would result in them falling into the chasm. Pulling doesn't seem to work, either.

EDIT: nm, I got it. Had to get outside, fall down a hole, touch a star and then walk back to the room another way.

Does either one of the skulls have a switch under it?

I believe that by now, you should be able to get the Fire Rod, which you use to open another path in the woods outside.

No, no buttons, and no, the fire rod has nothing to do with it. But like I said, I got it, so I don't need help anymore! Thanks tho. :<
