I just noticed that you have my quoted in your sig, from a spam thread from earlier this year.

That, or you're calling me a spambot.

Every now and then, I hear some rumor that Six Days is still alive in some form, but I think it's pretty much dead. For now anyway. And yeah, I doubt Nintendo is going to change their mind about releasing the holocaust game here. Shame.

Anyway isn't totally senseless the idea of better learning italian by studying those two dead languages, but it's not simple to explain.
If you see a (for you) unknown italian word, you can maybe use your knowledge to get to the meaning without knowing it, using etymology. Like...neologismo (neologism), "neos" stands for "new", though in italian would be "nuovo"; and "logismo" stands for "speech", though in italian would be "discorso". So it's still a bit complicated, but I think that's the main reason...
Anyway I think that it's not THAT necessary.

    Oh I...I really don't know o.O
I searched on the English wikipedia and seems that is the "Contemporary Latin":
"Latin grammar has been taught in most Italian schools since the 18th century: for example, in the Liceo classico and Liceo scientifico, Latin is still one of the primary subjects. Latin is taught in many schools and universities around the world as well."
I did the Liceo scientifico, but in the classico they teach Ancient Greek as well :S and for the same reason I think.

Maybe would interest you that here in Italy, some kind of schools teach latin (to know better Italian, they say :S ), but I've always hated it with all myself :D except for music (you know, Liberi Fatali, O Fortuna, SSBB Main Theme).

Thanks for telling me! I'll check the website when I get onto my actual computer.

I don't speak Dutch, My friend. I'm a bit of a slow learner so the only language I'm fluent in is English. I know quite a few words and phrases in other languages but I wouldn't survive in another country where I had to speak the native tounge.

But I like learning other languages anyway, I would like to learn Japanese but it's really difficult and I don't know if I will ever seriously appling myself in it :P

To tell you the truth, English is not very common here. Most of people don't know very much of it, and even if it is teached in schools, good votes are not always related with English knowledge. i.e. a friend of mine doesn't knew anything at all, but often all that matters for the teachers is that you know the rules and things like that. So he was taking 8s and I was about 6-7 :D
After all so, I am an exception. Naturally I'm not the only one, but I learned and improved English myself, for gaming reasons :D Ocarina of Time put me in the need of knowing what people were saying, and a good vocaboulary did the rest . When I got internet all became easier, thanks to many sities and videos around (like GameTrailers and AVGN) I improved my listen, and now I don't esitate to watch things in English. Still, I don't always understand everything so I must improve this too :D .

    Biography
Deep, deep, deep in the shadowy...kinda downtown-ness of Ottawa, there was a dude. In fact, there were several dudes, but that's beside the point. This particular dude goes to school, works his tail off, and enjoys nothing more than sitting down and playing some retro vids, cranking the music and enjoying the rediscovery of childhood. Throw a nice beer in there, a few books, tea, anime, and...there was Sir_Snooze
