Check it out man! I finished the zelda song. It needs the usual smoothing over tweaking, some level adjustments, mastering, etc..etc..but for the most part, the hard part is over with. Just time to go back through, make sure everythings smooth as butter and it's golden.

I think you'll like the 2nd half more, less repeating lyrics, some new ones added, better ending, and best of all, female vox!

yeah man, I just realized I started this zelda project two freakin months ago! I need to get my shiz together and get the dang thing completed, but laziness and lack of time are two angry beasts that are hard to destroy!

I can't wait to hear it, should be good. And, yeah, i'm thinking something Chrono Trigger next. Although i still kinda wanna to some kinda Mario remix. Maybe something from Mario RPG for the SNES.

And one other thing...I find that it is best to keep the raw track free from compression until the final mix...that is probably the number one rule in my mixing.

    Hey...thanks for the listen...about the number of mixes...well...I don't feel that it's all that quickly...but maybe it is...i'm still a newb...but I do have a little system...

Mostly I record an idea track first...in which I do no eq/compression/etc...I use this track to get a good drum mix...but axe everything else...

Next...I normalize the drums to 100 percent...and begin recording a "real mix" after being satisfied with my idea track. I record the new track with the idea mix taking up one of the slots...to keep me in place.

Next...I record each instrument until I am happy with it...and export each instrument to seperate left and right tracks...(also surround tracks if applicable)

Finally....I begin mixing with all the parts...I apply light compression to each of the instruments...and use the volume faders to get ride of parts that pop out too much.

After a little experimentation with compression and eq...I finalize the mix.

Nah, sometimes its easier to work on multiple projects at once. That way if i DO get stuck on one, i can save and load the other. Sometimes coming up with the next riff or lead can get me stuck.
